Have you recently been invited to a home candle party? Did someone pitch an awesome “work from home” business called Scentsy?

Or is someone trying to sell you a starter kit of wax warmers and wax melts with different scents? Thinking of spending money and placing an order? But not sure if it’s a pyramid scheme or a scam? Don’t worry, we’ve got you!

We’re going to review Scentsy to decide if it really is the best MLM company out there.

We’ll talk about whether MLM is the right online business for you.

At the end, I’ll answer some of the most frequently asked questions regarding Scentsy and MLM in general.

And most important, I’ll show you the exact system I used to build my own internet marketing business to over $40,000 a month in mostly passive income.

What Is Scentsy?

Scentsy is a Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) business selling fragrance items to make your house smell delicious.

Their primary products that stand out are Scentsy wax bars and warmers.

We will dig into these a little more later on in this particular Scentsy review. Though the part you’re likely interested in is the chance to earn money from home.

Who Is Orville Thompson?

Scentsy was established in 2004 by Heidi and Orville Thompson and it is extremely well known due to their Scentsy warmers, wax bars, and other scent-based products.

You will find more than 100,000 consultants working in the Scentsy networking and the business creates more than $450 million revenue anually. In 2018, Scentsy made it into Forbes list at #35 for best mid-size employers at America.

Scentsy Review: Is Scentsy A Pyramid Scheme?

Actually, no. Scentsy isn’t a pyramid scheme.

Indeed, Scentsy consultants can market Scentsy products and get a commission for doing so.

Nevertheless, is it viable to work full time at home just by selling Scentsy products? The answer is no. For that reason, Scentsy might be easily considered as a “pyramid scheme in disguise.”

Is Scentsy An MLM?

Yes. Scentsy is an MLM company. Before you dive into any MLM business, it is essential to actually comprehend the products (and smart to test them yourself).

Most MLM businesses are going to have a “unique selling point” as they often offer items which are fairly popular and extremely similar to items you are able to find elsewhere readily enough.

Scentsy isn’t any different.

They’ve got very common great smelling household products.

Their flagship warmer and wax apparently stand out compared to candles because:

  • They do not release carcinogens (can result in cancer).
  • They are not really a flame hazard.
  • The warmers are generally safe and load up the room with scent (there is an enormous number of smells like wood, floral, bakery, fruity, etc.).

How Much Does A Scentsy Consultant Make?

Scentsy has eight ranks in total. Each rank has a commission and requirements eligibility. To move from a lower level to a greater rank, you’ve got to recruit more people.

The Escential consultant will be the lowest level and also pays 20% PRV (Personal Retail Volume) commission on 1,000 PRV. This is the level you will be as soon as you sign up.

The 1,000 PRV is actually cumulative and does not matter how long it requires you to achieve 1,000 PRV points, regardless if it’s years or months.

From Escential consultant, you move forward to a certified consultant position, which makes you 25 % of PRV. You graduate on the following level once you strike 500 PRV points in product sales per month.

Top Consultant Levels In Scentsy

  • Lead Consultant
  • Star
  • Superstar
  • Director
  • Star Director
  • SuperStar Director

Besides retail sales, as I pointed out Scentsy enables you to recruit individuals to join the program. This provides you with a downline (team) below you. When people you sponsor pull in purchases, you get compensated commissions on all those purchases.

How Do You Get Wholesale Commissions

  • Scentsy’s wholesale commissions begin from the Lead Consultant level. If anyone you have sponsored reaches the lead consultant level, they qualify for a wholesale commission of 2%.

If this occurs, you’ll be making a differential commission of as much as 4% of their wholesale volume. From the Director level upwards, you generate a wholesale commission of 9%.

How Much Will You Earn Under Director Level

As a Director, you generate a Director’s Bonus. With this bonus, a commission is given to you for wholesale volumes of all those inside your downline.

You are able to generate bonuses on as much as three director generations into your downline. The bonuses are as follows: 3% of the first generation, 4% for the second generation, and 5% for third generation directors.

Let us recap the compensation plan. For starters, the optimum amount you are able to make from Scentsy is 30% commission on your retail sales. For those consultants that you recruit, there is a 9% wholesale commission. So when you become a Director, there is a 5% Director Bonus for getting into the Director level.

What Is Scentsy's Compensation Plan?

The Scentsy’s compensation program provide you with a chance to make 20 to 25 % commissions on your own retail volume and it is paid out every month. When you make over 2,000 PRV points within a month, you receive a reward of 5% bonus. If you have a complaint or any questions, they have a great consultant support team.

How Much Does It Cost To Join Scentsy?

It costs $99 to be a Scentsy consultant.

In comparison to the majority of bricks and mortar businesses, this is quite remarkable. If you will start a restaurant, you will be needing to deal with overheads of tens of thousand of dollars, which means you can definitely see the appeal to join in a business like Scentsy for individuals planning to work from home.

Is Scentsy A Scam?

Scentsy is definitely not a scam. They create legit products and pay commissions to their consultants as they promise.

Nevertheless, not because it is legitimate (technically), it does not mean it is the greatest option for you to earn a living from home.

It is entirely possible to build a profitable, successful online business however without the need of an MLM.

My #1 pick proves this. And unlike Scentsy, it actually provides real proof of real success from real people as recently as a few days ago.

Can You Make Money With Scentsy?

You can certainly make money with MLM and Scentsy, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to become a consultant or networker (which, trust me, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.

The program that helped skyrocket my online business to $40,000+ per month teaches some of the same networking skills but shows you how to monetize them in a much, MUCH more profitable way.

Is Scentsy Legitimate?

Yes, Scentsy is legitimate and they have real products. And they are great! But, when it comes to building a business, you have plenty of options.

And even if you’re dead set on becoming a networker, you’ve got way better options than Scentsy.

Keep in mind, I don’t get paid to promote any of the programs I review. I personally think MLM is a great business model, but you could end up leaving way too much money on the table.

Our #1 Money Making Strategy Without Scentsy

The MLM business model requires people’s effort and time to be successful. You have to continuously work if you want to earn money. But, wouldn’t it be best to invest time and effort in something that you can rely on—day in and day out? Or in other words, build something that creates passive income.

We’ve done all the hard work for you and we’re happy to share with you this online money-making strategy that gives us unlimited income opportunities without relying on paid ads.

The Answer Is Digital Real Estate

What is digital real estate—you might be wondering. Digital real estate, or what we call lead generation, is the process of building websites for service-based industries like construction services, remodeling, tree services, and so on. Let’s say your site ranks number one on Google. Subsequently, you get the majority of shares of calls and visits from potential customers.

These calls and visits have value. As a matter of fact, these kinds of visits have made Home Advisor what it is today—a multi-million dollar business!

The only difference with digital real estate is that you will do it on a local level, where competition is virtually non-existent.

How Do I Dive Into Digital Real Estate?

Remember Home Advisor?

They charge business homeowners per lead and they’re not even exclusive, which a lot of business owners really hate.

So when you can bring them in exclusive leads, they really see the value in that.

How much is a lead worth?

It depends on the industry to be completely honest, but let’s use the tree service industry as an example. The average job in tree service is worth anywhere from $500-$2,000. As you can see, it is not cheap. Now, this is where you come in and separate yourself.

Home Advisor charges by lead. Regardless, you can go and build trust off of commission, and eventually, they’ll be begging for a flat rate.

Let’s just say your tree service brings in 10 calls a month in the very worst-case scenario.

It’s not uncommon for service-based contractors to pay a 10-20% referral fee or finders fee depending on who you talk to.

So going off the worst-case scenario here…you’re looking at a digital asset that’s paying you $500 a month consistently.

Now imagine at scale, what if you had just 10 of these bad boys?

That’s 5k a month in pure passive income! And it only goes up from there because that’s the worst-case scenario!

Oh, I don’t know how to build a website…Let alone rank one!

Don’t worry we did the research for you, we got you covered!

Where Do You Start?

Our team at Scam Risk has taken the time and done the due diligence for many different courses and programs related to digital real estate/lead generation.

We’ve seen our fair share of scam courses and programs and have developed a very thorough checklist that programs need to hit to earn our recommendation.

We have found a program that walks you through how to build a website step by step, rank it, and start bringing in passive income!

This program not only teaches you how to build and rank…but also provides live calls twice a week where you can talk with different coaches and members about questions you may have.

On top of that, you will get access to a very active Facebook group that is literally active 24/7, just in case you miss the live streams.

Our review was very impressed with how active and supportive this group/program was!

Most groups just have the videos and webinars and then die off soon after, these guys are still going strong.

Some students are making 15k a month in just 90 days!
