Sell Your Knowledge Review (Updated [year]): Tai Lopez Is Back...Now What Does He Want?

Introduction: Sell Your Knowledge Review

Welcome to ScamRisk and thanks for taking the time to read my Sell Your Knowledge review.

Over the last several years, Tai Lopez has become somewhat of a cult figure in Digital Marketing, eCommerce, Social Media Marketing – and you’ve probably been researching him lately because:

  1. You have some knowledge that you want to share with the world.
  2. People keep hitting you up about making an affiliate marketing on Instagram course.
  3. You’re might even currently have your own business in dropshipping, but the low profit margins are wreaking havoc on your bottom line.

Whichever reason you landed here, just know that you’re in the right place.

In the next 10 minutes, we’re going over some questions that might be running through your mind like:

  • What exactly is Sell Your Knowledge?
  • Who is Tai Lopez?
  • How much does it cost to join the Tai Lopez test group?
  • Is Sell Your Knowledge legit or a scam?
  • Are there better ways to make money online in [year]?

You may not know this, but up until a few years ago, I sold my own product about running Facebook and Google ads, and made a lot of money in the process.

However, recently I and other individuals have been involved with something that I believe has better potential at making passive income than Tai’s approach to digital products

Today we’re going to unpack as much as we can, so that you can walk away knowing that you made the right decision and didn’t waste your time and money.

Now, for a quick summary and some Pros and Cons.

DISCLAIMER:

This Sell Your Knowledge review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

PROS
  • High Margins: Selling digital educational products can have margins up to 99%, which means the money you make is nearly all profit.
  • Flexibility: You can create your products at your own pace, which is great for people that have full and part time jobs.
  • Low Costs: To get started, you mainly just need your expertise, a laptop, and internet connection – which means no extra or ongoing costs.
CONS
  • Competition: The Digital Education market is huge and very competitive, so you will need to find specific niches or sub niches to stand out.
  • Time: Creating a high quality educational product will take time, which will be challenging as a side hustle.
  • Credibility: It might be hard to convince people to buy your product, so you will need to convince them that you’re an expert in your field.

Why Listen To Us

My name is Josiah, and this is my Dad, Joel.why listen us

Together, we make up the team here at Scamrisk.

If you’ll let me bother you for two minutes, I’d like to quickly explain why I’m even here writing this review.

In early 2020, I had just graduated from college & had no real career prospects.

I knew I was destined for something more, but I had no clue how I was going to make it happen.

I had this sinking feeling in my gut all the time… like the “big man upstairs” had accidentally given me the version of life where I’d be mediocre forever, instead of the one where I was, ya know – happy & fulfilled.

Anyway…

I had fiddled around with some different online businesses in college:

Some random MLMs, a bit of affiliate marketing, a (failed) dropshipping store or two, all the usual suspects.

Even my dad had been involved in MLMs back in the day… selling knives & other random nonsense people (probably) didn’t need.

All I really wanted was to find something that was going to actually work for me.

Maybe those things had worked for others, but for me it all turned up a fat “0” in the bank account department.

So I searched! And searched… and searched… and searched…

And eventually, I somehow stumbled upon a program that promised to help me build an income online (read about it here if you’re curious).

I didn’t really want to be “rich”.

The thought of making a reliable $5K per month & not having to worry about clocking in to a 9-to-5 ever again was all I needed.

Sure, there were people in the program doing high-6 and low-7 figures per year… but that wasn’t what I was out for.

I just wanted to provide freedom for myself, and if I was lucky, take my family along for the ride.

Fast forward a few days and a few phone calls & I was enrolled!

Here’s the first “money making website” I put up:

why listen us gif

I built that site in 2020, and it still makes me $1,500 per month. It’s a basic 5 page website I built based on a template the program provides.

The best part to me? My dad and I get to do it all together!

So between the:

  1. Ease of reaching $5-$10K per month in income online

  2. Straightforward-ness of the system to do it

  3. Fact that I get to do it w/ my family

Is why I recommend local lead generation as my #1 business model for making money online.

Sure, it takes some work and dedication – but anyone that tells you that there’s a business out there that requires no work is selling you a lemon.

I’m not saying you need to sign up for the same program I did, but I would definitely recommend giving the business model a peek!

TLDR - Sell Your Knowledge: Verdict

Sell Your Knowledge Verdict

It probably comes to no surprise to you that over the last 20 years, the internet has become a treasure trove for Entrepreneurs, Do-It-Yourselfers, and Stay-At-Home-Moms (SAHM).

They’ve been involved with online learning programs like:

So, when Tai Lopez came out recently about setting up a test group showing people how to make money online selling educational products, I had a picture in my mind of an old man sleeping under a tree for 100 years.

Little did I know, he’s getting back to the basics because of issues like profit margins:

So, when you look at numbers like these, you have to think that something had to have got lost in translation along the way.

Which is one of the reasons that I’ve been doing Digital Leasing and seeing profit margins of 90%-95% for every digital asset that I create.

If this is something you would like to learn more about, check it now – but if you’re still wondering what Tai has to say, let’s take a look at who his test group is catering to.

AreaScoreDescription
Time Investment3.5/5Selling your knowledge online can take a good amount of time figuring out what you’re an expert at, creating the right content and developing a profitable marketing strategy.
Level of Control4/5When it’s your knowledge, you own it. You control what you teach, how to structure your training, who your target students are, and how much you’re going to charge.
Ease of Implementation3.7/5Creating the types of courses Tai Lopez suggests can be relatively easy to put together as long as you have the right tools. Also, using platforms like Udemy and Masterclass can help you reach the right customers.
Profit Potential4/5Selling digital products online has high profit margins and little overhead. Also, you have a global audience, so the key to creating sustainable income is providing high quality content that your audience will like.

Who Is Sell Your Knowledge For And Who It's Not For?

Who Is Sell Your Knowledge For

Many people will come up to me asking if they should buy this course here or that training there, and I get it – they don’t want to waste their time on something that will just turn out to be a dud.

Most of the time, though, people don’t give themselves enough credit, and I say that because when you follow your gut, it’s nearly 100% correct.

I know Tai has had some issues in the past, but he’s still here, so he’s either doing something right or he’s the Teflon Don.

In any case, Sell Your Knowledge could be a fit if:

  1. You’re an expert in a certain field and believe you can make money with it.
  2. You know some people that you believe would make great partners.
  3. You’ve tried self-publishing before, but feel you need more direction. This Trustpilot user said the money he spent with Tai was well worth it.

Sell Your Knowledge might not be a good fit it:

  1. You don’t know where to begin and don’t get anxiety working with others.
  2. You’re not very tech savvy and you’re all thumbs at the keyboard.
  3. You’re afraid of getting scammed – this Reddit user purchased one of Tai’s programs for $97 but never got access and couldn’t get a refund.

Now, let's take a step back and look at the type of business that Tai Lopez will be teaching you about in his test group.

The Business Model

The process for selling digital educational products online is relatively simple and can be broken down in about eight steps:

  1. Product Creation: Tai will show you how to create your product whether it be an ebook, webinar, video series, podcast, or software.
  2. Platform: Next, you’ll need to choose the right course platform to sell your product. You can either self-host or choose outlets like Udemy, Masterclass or Coursera.
  3. Price: Pricing can be critical and you may need to test it a few times to find the sweet spot, but typically it can be a one-time fee, subscription, or free for basic information and a premium for more advanced.
  4. Marketing and Sales: Tai will coach you on the best ways to build your strategy which can involve YouTube videos, Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), Email marketing techniques, or Affiliate Marketing.
  5. Delivery and Access: You will need to provide access to your products typically in the form of a website login, pdf download, or app.
  6. Customer Support and Community: Creating a sense of community, engaging with students and offering feedback is crucial for a successful product.
  7. Updates: You want to keep your content relevant, especially if the subject matter evolves quickly.
  8. Scale: Ultimately, you want to grow your business by reaching a wider target audience, adding new products, and using technology for automation.

Who Is Tai Lopez?

Born in 1977, in Long Beach California, Tai Lopez is an entrepreneur, businessman, investor and partner in over 20 successful multi-million dollar companies.

You can get a three day run with Tai Lopez’s test group for $1, after that you can pay $7 per month or $59 per year.

Tai also offers a 30 day money-back guarantee if you’re not happy.

How Is Sell Your Knowledge Different From Other Similar Programs?

Sell Your Knowledge vs Others

Contrary to popular belief, Tai doesn’t have the global marketplace cornered on digital educational or self-publishing courses. I’ve written many reviews on programs like that, here are a few:

My Personal Opinion Of Sell Your Knowledge

My Personal Opinion of Sell Your Knowledge

I don’t doubt that you can make a good deal of money online by selling digital educational products. In fact, Pearson Education saw their digital products have nearly doubled from 5.5 to 9.7 million units over 10 years

However, is Tai Lopez the type of person that can teach you how to do this on a much smaller scale?

Here’s my checklist…

  1. Experience: Does Tai have a solid track record?
  2. Training: Is his training worth $59 per year?
  3. Honesty: Does Tai give you a cringey feeling?
  4. Mentorship: Will Tai be there when you have questions?
  5. Success Stories: Are any of his students successful?

Is Sell Your Knowledge A Scam?

I don’t think Sell Your Knowledge is a scam, my only concern would be if you are actually able to get into his test group (remember the guy who paid $97 and didn’t get access or a refund?).

Since it’s only $1, I guess you wouldn’t lose all that much to find out.

Now, publishing digital educational products isn’t all that difficult to do, but it can be time consuming and finding a niche to buy your products in such a competitive industry can be challenging.

The question you need to ask yourself is, how long do you want to wait to make money?

With Digital Leasing, you can create a digital asset that can make you $500-$2,000 per month for years to come.

Then it’s just a matter of building more, which is very simple.

The best part is that you can do this business for anywhere you want:

  • On an RV road trip
  • A vacation condo in Maui
  • A cabin in the Rockies

What's Inside Sell Your Knowledge?

Whats Inside Sell Your Knowledge

Inside Tai’s Sell Your Knowledge test group, you will learn:

  • How Tai builds, launches and scales his own products and courses.
  • How he partners with experts with specific knowledge and shares in the profits.
  • His viral marketing tactics used to reach as many people as possible.
  • How he reaches people on a personal level so they want to buy everything you have to teach.

My Final Thoughts On Sell Your Knowledge

My Final Thoughts On Sell Your Knowledge

Here’s the deal – I know that there’s been some positive and negative remarks made about Tai Lopez, so I won’t try to convince you one way or the other.

That being said, creating digital educational products CAN be lucrative so long as you can reach a large enough general market, or can corner a small niche.

It's just that there’s just so many moving pieces with creating your product, deciding on the right platform, promotion, technology for scaling, etc… it can be easy to get lost in it all.

Which is why it’s just not my #1 pick.

My #1 Way To Make Money Online In 2024

Digital Leasing

I will agree with Tai Lopez that starting out you should choose a business model with higher profit margins because you’ll need that wiggle room as you’re going through your learning curve.

I just believe that Digital Leasing is your best move.

I’ll tell you why…

  1. Time: You can do this business in just a few hours per day starting out and then ramp up as you see success.
  2. Control: Once you get your digital leasing assets built, no one can take them from you.
  3. Cost: All you need to get started on your first digital leasing asset is about $100 and you could be profiting in under 30 days.
  4. Overhead: Your operating costs are just a fraction of your revenue with profit margins between 90%-95%.
  5. Duplication: Creating new digital leasing assets is as easy as pushing a few buttons on your keyboard and a couple clicks of your mouse.
  6. Helping Real People: With Digital Leasing, you’re lending a hand to real people in your community, like your local Mom & Pop business owner, and giving them the tools to grow their business and live a better life.

Ultimately, it’s your decision. You could keep looking for ways to make money online, or you could join a growing group of over 2,000 others who are living that dream.

If worry-free, semi-passive income is what you’re looking for – you should check out Digital Leasing now.
