Audiobook Income Academy Review (Updated [year]): Are The Mikkelsen Twins The Real Deal?

Audiobook Income Academy Review: Introduction

Hi! Thanks for stopping by to read my Audiobook Income Academy review. You probably found this in a couple of different ways:

  • You were surfing the web, looking for ways to make some extra cash, and you heard about The Mikkelsen Twins.
  • You saw an ad pop up about their course and thought, "Hmm, is this too good to be true?"
  • Or maybe you're just wondering if Audible Publishing and the Twins are the real deal or just a bunch of hype.

No matter how you got here, grab a snack and settle in. I'm about to tell you everything I know about this whole audiobook “craze”, with a special focus on what the Mikkelsen Twins are all about.

When you're done reading this, you'll have a clear picture of:

  • Everything you'll learn if you buy the Mikkelsen Twins' course
  • Whether or not you can actually make money with Audible
  • If you can make a name for yourself in the publishing world, even if you have little to no experience
  • How much will Audiobook Income Academy cost

I’ve spent quite a bit of time doing research and writing reviews on just about every type of money-making idea that you can think of – I’ve even made money specifically with Audible. I just wanted to mention that so you know I’m not full of hot air.

I've also written reviews about other ways to make money online, like this one I wrote about how to start an SEO business, which is a great if you’re on a shoestring budget and have a couple hours in your day.  I’ve even written reviews on top network marketing companies; although if you’re new, I would stay away from MLMs – trust me!

With that said,  I want to make this the one and only review you'll ever need to read about the Mikkelsen Twins and their Audiobook Income Academy course

Now, I know that some of you are on the edge of your seats, curious to see if the Mikkelsen Twins are legit or scam twins, so let me get you started with a quick summary of their program and some pros and cons to help you decide:

DISCLAIMER:

This Audiobook Impact Academy review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

PROS
  • Proven Topics: The course gives you a list of proven topics to write about, which means you'll have a built-in and interested fan base to sell to.
  • Access to Writers: You get access to a team of ghostwriters, which means you can duplicate your efforts if you have the capital.
  • Coaching: You get access to live coaching calls so that you'll have someone to talk to if you get stuck.
CONS
  • Profit Margins: The profit margins for selling audiobooks are lower than you might think, which means you'll need to keep a close eye on your budget.
  • Income: Your earnings can go up and down each month, which means you can't depend on a steady cash flow.
  • Time-Consuming: It can take up to 70 hours to create an audiobook which means you could spend a lot of money upfront.

Why Listen To Us

My name is Josiah, and this is my Dad, Joel.why listen us

Together, we make up the team here at Scamrisk.

If you’ll let me bother you for two minutes, I’d like to quickly explain why I’m even here writing this review.

In early 2020, I had just graduated from college & had no real career prospects.

I knew I was destined for something more, but I had no clue how I was going to make it happen.

I had this sinking feeling in my gut all the time… like the “big man upstairs” had accidentally given me the version of life where I’d be mediocre forever, instead of the one where I was, ya know – happy & fulfilled.

Anyway…

I had fiddled around with some different online businesses in college:

Some random MLMs, a bit of affiliate marketing, a (failed) dropshipping store or two, all the usual suspects.

Even my dad had been involved in MLMs back in the day… selling knives & other random nonsense people (probably) didn’t need.

All I really wanted was to find something that was going to actually work for me.

Maybe those things had worked for others, but for me it all turned up a fat “0” in the bank account department.

So I searched! And searched… and searched… and searched…

And eventually, I somehow stumbled upon a program that promised to help me build an income online (read about it here if you’re curious).

I didn’t really want to be “rich”.

The thought of making a reliable $5K per month & not having to worry about clocking in to a 9-to-5 ever again was all I needed.

Sure, there were people in the program doing high-6 and low-7 figures per year… but that wasn’t what I was out for.

I just wanted to provide freedom for myself, and if I was lucky, take my family along for the ride.

Fast forward a few days and a few phone calls & I was enrolled!

Here’s the first “money making website” I put up:

why listen us gif

I built that site in 2020, and it still makes me $1,500 per month. It’s a basic 5 page website I built based on a template the program provides.

The best part to me? My dad and I get to do it all together!

So between the:

  1. Ease of reaching $5-$10K per month in income online

  2. Straightforward-ness of the system to do it

  3. Fact that I get to do it w/ my family

Is why I recommend local lead generation as my #1 business model for making money online.

Sure, it takes some work and dedication – but anyone that tells you that there’s a business out there that requires no work is selling you a lemon.

I’m not saying you need to sign up for the same program I did, but I would definitely recommend giving the business model a peek!

TLDR - What’s The Verdict On Audiobook Income Academy?

Audiobook Income Academy Verdict

If you're wondering whether or not Audiobook Income Academy is worth the investment, then I would have to say probably not.

That's not to say, however, that I think the course is terrible or that the Mikkelsen twins are shady, because I don't.

Publishing audiobooks isn't brain surgery, however.

I'm sure the course provides enough information to get you started publishing audiobooks, but I wonder if you would be better off researching this on your own without the expensive price tag attached.

Let's take a quick look at the program.

You'll learn, step-by-step, how to write and sell your audiobooks on Audible, which I'm sure Audible has a tutorial for this. You'll also get training on how to design a cover for your audiobook and even a primer for keyword research so customers can find it online.

Though you could probably find tons of Youtube videos to show you how to do this too.

Let's say you want to start working out and decide to join a gym with all the fancy equipment and tanning beds, but when you think about it, you can:

  • jog in the park
  • do push-ups at home
  • or lay out on your back patio in your favorite fold up recliner with a brand new bottle of Coppertone

Which won't cost you $50-100 per month.

Instead, check out this Youtube video first to see if publishing audiobooks is something that you think you can do.

I understand if you're on the fence about Audiobook Income Academy (or even Audible for that matter), so consider tapping the brakes for a minute to check out the this program instead.

It’s kind of like getting that gym membership with all the bells and whistles, but fast-tracking that full-body makeover in a matter of weeks instead of months.

AreaScoreDescription
Time Investment3.2/5Finding topics and writing your audiobooks will take some time in the beginning, so you'll need to stay focused and keep your head down.
Level of Control2.8/5You can sell on Amazon which is a great platform with a huge customer base, but Amazon could flag or ban your account without notice.
Ease of Implementation2.7/5Everything you need to get started is in the course, but areas like writing, artwork and marketing can be tough when starting out.
Profit Potential2.4/5There is a lot of competition in the audiobook industry, so you may need to invest a fair amount of time and money before seeing a profit.

Who Should Consider Audiobook Income Academy And Who Should Take A Detour?

I've created my fair share of audiobooks and I have to say that getting your thoughts down on paper and converting it to audio is relatively simple, the hard part comes when you are trying to get customer to buy your product.

Some of the courses that I purchased did help me in a few ways, but others kind of had me feeling like I just got one of those rides at an amusement park that spins in circles for what seems like forever.

So, who do I think this program would be good for:

People With A Message: If you have a message that you want to get out to the masses, then creating an audiobook is a great way to express yourself and this program can help shorten the learning curve.

Need Extra Cash: If you want to make some more money but can't leave your day job, this program shows you how to do it when you have free time.

College Students: This program seems to be made with the college student in mind. If you can pull yourself away from all the late-night parties and road trips, you could pad that resume' for future job applications.

However, if you relate to these Audiobook Impact Academy reviews, you might consider taking the exit ramp:

  • This Reddit user says that the program is a scam and has to wonder why the Mikkelsen Twins would need to convince customers to buy it using a long-winded webinar. He also believes the strategies are outdated and the market is too saturated.
  • This Reddit user says that creating an audiobook is one thing, but you also need to buy Amazon Ads just to get people to see it. So if your advertising budget is minimal, it could take a while.

Audiobook Income Academy: A 1,000 Ft View

Audiobook Income Academy 1000 Ft View

Just to recap, The Mikkelsen Twins teach about making money online by creating audiobooks and selling them on Audible.

Imagine a place where you can sell your audiobooks all day, every day. People can buy it whenever they want, and you don't have to worry about packaging and shipment. It's all audio, so people just download it to their phones or computers.

However, his isn't a way to build long-term passive income. You have to work hard at the beginning to get your thoughts down, make sure it sounds good, and get people interested in buying it.

I've looked into other ways to make money, like how to start dropshipping or starting a social media marketing agency, and while you can make a decent amount of money with audiobooks once you've jumped through all the hoops, there are clearly better options.

Creating audiobooks sounds like a great hobby, it just doesn't provide the best return on your investment.

Who Are Rasmus and Christian Mikkelsen?

Who Are The Mikkelsen Twins

I know your eyes might be getting a little tired, so I'll keep this short.

Rasmus and Christian Mikkelsen were born in New Jersey in 1995. They had a hard time finding their way, jumping from job to job, but their luck changed one night while delivering Chinese food.

FacebookSource"Do you love what you do? The sad reality for most is that they don't."
twitter-x.Source"How to make good money online with publishing, even if you have no money"

They found a self-publishing course called Project Life Mastery and the rest was history.

Even though they tried to make it with dropshipping, they felt that self-publishing was the best route for them. I can't blame them, dropshipping can be tough.

In 2018, they created a series of audiobooks and made $60,000, but soon after, they were banned by Amazon for using bad translation software. After that setback, they got back on their feet and created AIA making $53,000 from their first 100 students.

Finally, in 2020, they created an education company called Publishing Life, and today they're back on Amazon, showing people how to make money online.

How Much Does Audiobook Income Academy Cost?

How Much Does Audiobook Income Academy Cost

The cost of Audiobook Income Academy is a little unclear, with reports having it range anywhere from $1,497 to $1.997, with that cost going up slightly if you make payments.

However, it does appear that the program is currently not available for reasons unknown.

Is Audiobook Income Academy Legit Or A Scam?

Is Audiobook Income Academy Legit Or A Scam

Technically, it's not a scam. You can certainly make money with this program, but it's not as simple as the Mikkelsen Twins make it sound. You have to put in a lot of hard work at the beginning, and there's no promise that you'll succeed right away.

Plus, the money doesn't keep growing by itself. Imagine working hard for 3 months and then having to work even harder for 9 more months before you see any real money.

Now, think about it a different way. What if you could work for just 3 months and then get paid $500 to $2,000 every month after that without lifting a finger? And what if you could start today and see money in just a week? That's what Digital Leasing offers.

All you need is a laptop and the internet.

Some people who do really well with this program are living their dream lives, working from:

  • their RV while on the road
  • a luxury rental in the mountains,
  • a tiny cottage in Southern France

They can travel and make memories because the money keeps coming, even if they take a break from work.

So, if you want a life free from worrying about money or time off, Digital Leasing might be for you.

Audiobook Impact Academy Reviews: How It Differs From Other Similar Programs?

Audiobook Impact Academy Reviews vs Others

Since Audiobook Impact Academy focuses mainly on the audiobook niche, let's do a quick side-by-side comparison of AIA with other programs in the same general space:

Fiction Profits Academy

In this Fiction Profits Academy review, I talk about how Karla Marie teaches her students how to create and sell fiction books. It's more genre-based, which is ideal for people who have a knack for storytelling.

Kindle Cash Flow

In this Kindle Cash Flow review, I go over how Ty Cohen makes his money with Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), which is great if your choice is creating ebooks.

Self Publishing School

In this Self Publishing School review, I show how Chandler Bolt also teaches about ebook publishing but primarily focused on entrepreneurs, influencers, and public speakers.

My Personal Opinion About Audiobook Income Academy

My Personal Opinion Of Audiobook Income Academy

Before we start wrapping this up, I’d like to talk briefly about audiobook publishing and give my own personal opinion.

I’ve looked at their training, and I want to give you an outline of things to look for before deciding on purchasing it or other similar courses.

First, when you search for "Audiobook Income Academy review," remember that most reviews are from people who didn't like the course. You won't hear much from people who are doing really well with audiobook publishing, mostly because they’re too busy.

Second, your attitude is important. If you join Audiobook Income Academy thinking you'll make easy money on Audible, you're wrong.

It’s like thinking you'll be a great writer just by buying a laptop, or buying a toolbox and expecting to build a house without ever using a hammer. You have to start writing.

Now let’s discuss what criteria to examine before buying a program:

  • Experience: Rasmus and Christian have been around the block when it comes to audiobooks Learning from their experience can save you time and money.
  • Support: Does the course have a private Facebook group or something similar? This extra support can really help you when you feel lost.
  • Content: The course should teach you information that's actually useful. You want to walk away with skills that help you do well on Audible.
  • Updates: The audiobook industry changes fast. A good course keeps up and gives you the latest techniques and strategies.

Would I Recommend Audiobook Income Academy?

Would I Recommend Audiobook Income Academy

First, I want to go over a few things about the premise behind Audiobook Income Academy and the self-publishing business model.

I absolutely love listening to Audible. In fact, I have a small library of audiobooks that are a great source of entertainment when I’m on a plane, in my car, or just out for a walk.

So, if you’re planning on writing an audiobook or already have one ready to download, let me know, and I’ll be more than happy to tell you what I think.

However, if you’re new to the idea of audiobook publishing and have some reservations about the price of this course, then I have to say that I don’t blame you.  I would too.

I’m just not sure if the price tag reflects the content of the course. Now, if you were getting it at a deep discount or even for free, then I would say “Do it”, what have you got to lose?

Now, let’s take a look at why I WOULD NOT recommend Audiobook Income Academy based on what others have said:

  • This Reddit user says that Publishing Life (previously Audiobook Income Academy) is a scam. He says they signed up on Trust Pilot and removed any negative reviews that were left. Even after he showed proof of his experience, his bad review got deleted, and he believes the positive comments are fake, urging people to stay away.
  • This Trustpilot user said she had to take care of her sick father right after joining a program. She asked for her money back because she needed it for her dad's care and had no time for the course. Ultimately, she was denied a refund.

My Conclusion: Should You Join Audiobook Income Academy?

In my opinion, the Mikkelsen Twins have put together a decent course for publishing audiobooks on Audible

Regarding what you get for cost of the program, there are other courses available (and even some free material) that would give you what you need.

Although, I can't see myself spending all the time that would be necessary when creating, publishing, and marketing an audiobook. I simply believe there are better ways to make money online, and audiobook publishing is not my #1 pick.

What Is My #1 Way To Make Money Online In 2024?

Digital Leasing

I’ve spent years researching, reviewing, and vetting dozens of business models and thousands of programs.

While there may be no “perfect business,” the research IS conclusive:

Digital Leasing is the #1 online business model for those just starting out.

Whether you’ve never made a penny online or you’ve been in this industry for a while but never really “found your stride”, Digital Leasing is for you.

Why?

1) It’s Flexible: If you can spare just an hour a day, you can do this. Ready to drop everything else and jump in full-time? You can do this. Yes, the more time you put in, the faster you see results. But even with a little time each day, you can move the needle in a Digital Leasing business.

And because this system is so flexible, you don’t have to constantly be working to make more money. It’s called PASSIVE INCOME because if you stop working, the money doesn’t.

Imagine taking 3 months off to just tour around Europe, rent a cabin in the woods to write a book, hike the Manitou Inclinel, or live on the beach and surf all day.

This is only possible if you have an income stream that’s not tied to your time.

2) You Own & Control EVERYTHING: With Audible Publishing, you don’t really own anything. Sure, you own your ebook which is considered your intellectual property, but you have no control over the Audible platform.

So be sure to look at the fine print for most of the agreements you sign when you join companies Amazon or Audible. At any point, the company can change your commission structure, reduce your profit margins, or kick you out entirely.

With Digital Leasing, you own the assets, which means you have all the power and all the control. For example, if a client decides that they no longer wish to use your services, you can easily find another client (in some cases, their competitors) to take their place and for even more money.

3) Little To No Startup Costs: It’s possible to get into Digital Leasing with zero dollars upfront. Because, using the strategies outlined in this program, you can get a client to pay you BEFORE spending a penny out of your own pocket...even before you do any work.

Even without getting paid in advance, you can have your first Digital Rental Property up, running, and generating profits for less than $100.

With audiobook publishing, you have to put in the time and money to write an ebook, convert it into an audiobook, publish it to Amazon, then advertise it all before you see one red cent, which is assuming your audiobook makes any sales.

4) Easy To Duplicate: Ok, here’s the best part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up and running, you can literally DOUBLE your income with a few clicks, a couple of keystrokes, and a single phone call (and you don’t actually need the phone call).

Remember: each Digital Rental Property is worth $500 to $2,000 monthly in semi-passive income (over 95% profit). Every time you decide to create another one and increase your income, it gets easier.

Because you have more knowledge, more experience, more results, and more momentum.

If you wanted to double your income with Audiobook Income Academy, you’d probably need to double the number of hours you spend working. Because, again, this program doesn’t scale.

Also, you can't duplicate an audiobook. Your best case scenario would be to rewrite an audiobook in less time it took to originally write it, give it a different title, then advertise it to a completely different market. The chances of doing this effectively and without getting flagged is likely pretty low.

5) You Make Money Helping Real People: With Digital Leasing, you’re actually helping people by solving your clients’ biggest problem:

Small, local businesses need more customers, and with Digital Leasing, you are unleashing a flood of happy, paying customers for these businesses.

You make money by helping them make money. Which, unless you're actually writing an audiobook about starting your own business or the latest strategies for the winning the lottery, the person the primarily benefits from the sale of the audiobook is the author.

You're no a big, faceless corporation either...

You're helping small business owners who are using that money to put food on the table for their family, start a college fund for their kids, or take care of a sick parent.

Once you see how Digital Leasing makes a real impact in the lives of real people, you’ll sleep like a baby with a big smile on your face.

Now, the choice is yours. You could continue browsing, looking at opportunities like the Mikkelsen twins talk about in Audiobook Income Academy, which could one day make you money.

You could continue researching, never making a decision.

OR, you could take a look inside, consider what you really want, and join a program that makes your dreams a reality. At the same time, joining a community of over 2,000 successful students that are living life on their own terms, thanks to Digital Leasing.

A consistent, reliable, semi-passive stream of income that doesn’t depend on you or your time to keep producing profits.

All while genuinely helping real people who are grateful and happy to pay for it.

If this sounds more like what you want out of life (or if you just want some nice side income), click here to learn more about Digital Leasing.
