How Zazzle Works
Uploading designs is quite easy with Zazzle, as well as selling products. It is pretty simple to use for both buyers and sellers.
The app as a whole is easier to use, with self-explanatory features that make it easier for users to identify the tools or items they need.
It’s easy to get started with Zazzle and the creation process is effortless. Simply create an account as a Designer, Maker, or Affiliate.
Creating an account would require the entry of your personal information. The tools available vary based on which type of account you select.
The creation process involved is fairly simple. If you are a designer, you submit your designs to the site, select the materials where you wish to print your designs, and then sell them on Zazzle. The rest will be handled by Zazzle, i.e., manufacturing, printing, and distribution.
Meanwhile if you are a “maker,” you create your own items to sell on Zazzle. But, you are responsible for the manufacturing and shipping of your products.
And lastly, as an affiliate, you get a commission every time you sell any products on the Zazzle platform.
Designing Business Cards In Zazzle
You can either use a template or make your own design based on the following:
- Style (unique, minimalist, professional)
- Shape (square, mini, standard, folded )
The styles range from glitzy to sleek and understated, but they’re not as trendy as MOO’s.
If you decide to use a template, you can modify the text, and if you want to resize and move elements you can do so by pressing the Click button to further customize.
If you select Create Your Own, you’ll be given a blank palette and the freedom to add photographs, backgrounds, clip art, patterns, and, of course, text as you see fit.
The interface is pretty good, with guidelines to help you align new elements with existing objects and also with the card borders. Gridlines may be optionally overlaid for alignment purposes.
Zazzle offers a wide selection of products. On Zazzle, you can conveniently customize almost everything in their catalog – from clothes to phone cases.
- Clothing & Accessories
- Invitations & Cards
- Home & Living
- Baby & Kids
Each segment has a wide range of products and variations to choose from. You can pick as many items as you want and sell them with your designs.
Put Some Zazzle in Your Business Cards
Zazzle has a plethora of pre-designed templates tailored to a lot of different business types, as well as a customizable card designer with several unconventional clip arts and font styles.
The card stock options are also commendable with excellent print quality. One drawback, though, is that it’s costlier than the majority of the card-printing services we’ve tried.
They also do not have a QR code generator or professional design services, as others do. Vistaprint, our Editors’ Choice business card printing service, offers a better value and more functionality.
Is Zazzle Legit?
People have often asked me over the last few months, while I’ve been talking and writing about my experiences on and with Zazzle, “Is Zazzle really a legit company?”
My short reply to this is yes, but because this platform has so many different facets, I’ve chosen to answer this question in in three ways.
1. Zazzle is a legitimate company to get high-quality products designed by individual artists and designers.
T-shirts, mugs, greeting cards, wedding invites, mobile phone covers, and several more high-quality things are sold on Zazzle. These products are created by independent designers who upload their artistic works to suit the items you order individually. Zazzle, in particular, gives these sketches to suppliers, who then manufacture these products to order for you.
I personally order my favorite pieces from their store, such as books, binders, and one-of-a-kind presents, and have never been dissatisfied with the content or customer service provided by the Zazzle team.
2. Zazzle is a legitimate place to make a passive income as a designer, artist, and photographer.
Zazzle allows a designer, photographer, or an artist to upload their artistic works and match them with the individual pieces for sale or for your personal purchase.
For the creator, it’s absolutely free. Zazzle makes money by charging a base price and allowing you to pick how much (in percentage) you want to charge as commission.
As an example, consider the following: A mug could be 9.99 US Dollars – you choose a 15% commission per sale – which is 1.49 USD – and the buyer will pay 11.48 USD for each mug.
Zazzle would then keep the 1.49 US Dollars until the transaction has cleared and you have met the commission payment cap of $50. Payments for commissions are made via PayPal.
You can put this percentage as high as you want; however, several factors come into play that affect how much you sell. They are:
- Quality of your products
- Your competitors’ pricing
- Design quality
- Marketing strategy
For the past three years, my digital creations and artistic bits have been up for sale on Zazzle.
It’s a simple and profitable interface that allows you to create your own specialty stores, categories, and descriptions. I’ve assisted many designers in establishing their own successful shops over the last seven months.
Question is, is it a quick and easy way to generate income?
Of course not! It takes effort and commitment, much like any other internet income stream, but if you are prepared to put in the hard, you could end up making good and consistent money.
Anything that claims you don’t have to work hard to make money is definitely a red flag for a possible scam so be wary of such products and services. There are tons of them out there.
3. Zazzle is a legitimate source of affiliate income for creative marketers, who like to think outside the box.
Affiliate marketing is another way to make money from Zazzle. This online money making opportunity is completely free and requires the same sign-up process as becoming a designer for the platform.
You will be given a unique affiliate link to advertise each product in the store, including your own designs!
If you want to learn more about affiliate marketing, you can take their free beginners certification course!
The best thing about the Zazzle affiliate program is that you can gain both an affiliate commission as well as design commission for each deal!
This literally means that instead of earning $1.49 from your mug, whether it is bought from your referral or affiliate link, you can earn an extra 15%, for a total of $2.98 per transaction!
That does not seem like much, but if you are a brilliant marketer, you can take advantage of consumable seasonal sales or paper products, and significantly raise your profits with some clever tactics.
I’ve promoted both my own designs and those of others, and earned by merely sharing these items on different social media outlets and also my own sites.
I’ve promoted both my own designs and those of others, and I’ve made money simply by sharing these items on different social media outlets and my own websites.
If you can see, Zazzle is totally legitimate, both as a place for buying goods for yourself and as a means of earning money. Zazzle can not be missed if you enjoy artistic expression, innovative projects, and searching for something extra.
Unique Selling Proposition (USP)
Zazzle has to be one of the most successful custom print sites on the market. Top brands such as Disney, DC Comics, and others sell their officially licensed merchandise on it, which shows anyone that this business is 100% legitimate, not to mention having really great products.
There are three different ways to sell to make money with Zazzle. They are:
- Sign up as a designer and put up your designs on several products, then sell.
- Submit your own goods to sell, or
- Simply receive a commission by selling other products through your unique affiliate link.
My Zazzle review will focus mainly on the “Become a Designer” section because we are dealing with a print on demand business, in which you create your templates, upload them, have them printed on various items, and finally sell them.
Pricing And Starting Up
The price starts at $20.95 oper 100 sheets for the standard 3.5×2 inch business cards on 17.5pt stock, which includes two-sided printing.
In contrast, MOO charges almost the same price ($19.99) for 50 equivalent cards, while Vistaprint charges $15 per 100 cards on 14pt. stock which is slightly thinner; 16pt. from Vistaprint costs $24.
GotPrint, the cheapest service we tried, costs only $7.63 per 100 cards, although it prints only on the front and on thinner stock.
Zazzle makes it sure that all vendors get their checks as quickly as possible. The billing schedule is a little sluggish, since it takes about 30 days after your contributions pass the mark to be withheld, but the whole procedure is straightforward.
If the vendor selects US Dollars as their currency, Zazzle provides payments through PayPal and US Bank account; however, selecting some other currency limits the payment method to PayPal only.
Delivery and Quality
For my test order of 100 cards, Zazzle delivered one of the lowest delivery prices, at $4.96. You can also create a Zazzle Black account, which allows free shipping for a one-time fee of $9.95 per a year! delivery.
The order came in five business days—my shipping choice had a four to seven-day delivery window, so it was well within the timeframe.
It came in a padded white bubble-wrap envelope with a Z on it. There was a simple thin cardboard box inside that couldn’t compete with MOO’s beautiful sleeve box.
The cards are beautifully printed with vibrant colors! I am one satisfied customer.
Buyers can easily monitor their shipments with Zazzle. They can conveniently track all of their orders by logging into their accounts. For all consumers in the United States, Zazzle has three different delivery services.
- Standard – Ships within 4-7 days
- Premium – Ships within 2-3 days
- Express – Ships within 1 day
The types of shipping options available are often determined by the type of merchandise, the number of goods, and the customer’s address.
Shipping costs can be found on the checkout list. Since shipping rates vary depending on a variety of reasons, it’s always a good idea and place a dummy order to see what the real shipping costs would be.
Zazzle also provides overseas shipping to a wide range of countries. You can check out the list of countries on their website.
Zazzle website’s user interface is a little disorganized, with several icons and links that you can click. Despite this, one can still manage to easily navigate the site because items are properly labelled.
The “Sell on Zazzle” link at its the top-right corner opens a new pop-up window where you can sign up as a designer, maker, or affiliate. The whole registration process is self-explanatory and straightforward.
The platform’s backend, on the other hand, is somewhat complicated for the regular user. Creating a a Zazzle store or posting templates can be quite challenging. And for a new customer, the whole thing can be confusing.
Also, you cannot easily find the options to create a new store or product design. You would need some time to get familiarize with creating a collection on the site.
As a result, you as a vendor, would need to deal with this rather complicated back-end user experience and digest the process before you become comfortable using it.
Zazzle customers can rely on Zazzle’s dedicated support staff that is constantly there to assist you with any issues you are having with the system.
On Zazzle, there are three ways to reach the customer service team:
- You can send them an email with your questions, and they can respond within 24 hours.
- You can use the online chat, which seems to be the quicker choice.
- You can call the support team, which is certainly the best way of contacting support.
Zazzle provides a comprehensive help center where you can find answers to commonly asked issues, so you don’t have to call the customer service team every any small problem.
The support section is split into three sections: sellers, designers, and makers. Each section contains FAQs tailored to the audience.
If you are unable to find responses or solutions to your problems, you can quickly contact the help team for a timely response.

It is entirely possible to build a profitable, successful online business however…
Scam Risk's #1 Recommended Way To Make Money Online In 2021
Are you looking for an online business that you can run where you won’t run into competition left and right?
What about something that can lead to passive income down the road…
Does that interest you at all?
Our Scam Risk team has done some digging into an online business model that has just recently popped up.
With the looming housing crisis that will make 2008 look like a toddler, many real estate investors and online entrepreneurs having begun building digital assets!
Digital Real Estate
Or local lead generation as some people call it, is the process of building out websites and generating leads for small service based businesses.
It’s actually pretty similar to affiliate marketing except for a couple key differences:
- You can make more money off of less traffic
- Competition is practically non existent at the local level
- Much easier to rank!
Before you start calling it scam…keep this in mind, we are Scam Risk…
We report scams. We don’t promote them. See a Zazzle link anywhere?
Now that that’s out of the way let’s dive deeper into that comparison.
With affiliate marketing, you have rank for national keywords, which is really hard to do because of how much competition there is.
You are having to compete with like 1 million other people to sell the same product…it’s crazy hard!
But now let’s flip the script…
How many people do you think are competing to cut down trees in Bossier City Louisiana?
So now that we’ve established that competition for local lead generation is much less than for affiliate marketing…let’s talk about the money. It’s always about the money right?
Most affiliate products you would sell are likely $50-$100 and on top of that you’re lucky if you’re making a 5% commission from Amazon because of it.
That means you’ll have to sell 1,000-2,000 of products just to reach a decent income of 5k per month. You definitely have your work cut out for you on that end…
Now let’s take a look back at that tree service example again…
The average tree service job is worth anywhere from $500-$2,000 and most contractors are generous with their referral fees, being known to pay out roughly 10-20% of the final ticket.
So now it’s time for some math…
Let’s say you build and rank one of these sites in a local area with very little competition and after 3 months, your site is at the top of page one locally.
And let’s say that worst cases scenario you only end of with just 10 calls.
On top of that, let’s say Covid hit the tree service guy and his family extra hard this year and he can only pay you 10%.
Going off the lowest numbers possible here…that means that just one of these sites could bring you in $500 a month. Now let’s say you build 10 of these things…you’re looking at 5k a month and you’re generating literally 1/10th of the traffic you would need to make that much with affiliate marketing!
Sound too good too be true…?
Where To Learn
We know that you’re not going to be able to just go off on your own and start killing the digital real estate game from the little we talked about it…

So our team at Scam Risk has taken the time to go out and find a program that we could recommend and give our Scam Risk seal of approval too.
We don’t take it lightly either.
After months of searching far and wide, we finally found one!
This course offers hands on training step by step going through exactly what you need to do to build and rank your new lead generation.
On top of that, they have live chat calls on zoom where you can all get together, hangout, and ask questions if you have any.
Even further, unlike most work-from-home opportunities you’ll see that we review, this program has a heavily monitored private Facebook group which means absolutely no spam!
This group is active 24/7 as well!
