Even my dad had been involved in MLMs back in the day… selling knives & other random nonsense people (probably) didn’t need.
All I really wanted was to find something that was going to actually work for me.
Maybe those things had worked for others, but for me it all turned up a fat “0” in the bank account department.
So I searched! And searched… and searched… and searched…
And eventually, I somehow stumbled upon a program that promised to help me build an income online (read about it here if you’re curious).
I didn’t really want to be “rich”.
The thought of making a reliable $5K per month & not having to worry about clocking in to a 9-to-5 ever again was all I needed.
Sure, there were people in the program doing high-6 and low-7 figures per year… but that wasn’t what I was out for.
I just wanted to provide freedom for myself, and if I was lucky, take my family along for the ride.
Fast forward a few days and a few phone calls & I was enrolled!
Here’s the first “money making website” I put up:
I built that site in 2020, and it still makes me $1,500 per month. It’s a basic 5 page website I built based on a template the program provides.
The best part to me? My dad and I get to do it all together!

Mannatech claims that its main goal is to promote nutritional supplements to combat global malnutrition.
Mannatech also offers a business opportunity for everyday people to become distributors of their nutritional supplements.

The founder of Mannatech is Samuel Caster.
Who is Samuel Caster?
Samuel Caster was the chairman and founder of Mannatech. He served the company until August 2007.
Prior to Mannatech, he has introduced companies that sold insulation products via Eagle Shield in 1980. He also introduced a pest control product under the brand, Electrocat.

Is Mannatech a legitimate MLM company?
Yes, Mannatech is a legitimate MLM company. They have 15 subsidiaries in various countries.
They have been in the MLM industry for more than two decades. An illegitimate MLM company will not exist for more than 2 or 3 years.
They have legit products and their members earn through selling its dietary supplements, even if they do not sponsor people to join in their network.
Mannatech MLM Review: Any Class Action Lawsuit Involvement?
Grant Thornton LLP was reportedly fired by Mannatech in October 2007 from being its auditing firm. Apparently, the auditing firm demanded that Mr. Samuel Caster be withdrawn of all its responsibilities.
The Texas Attorney General that time was Mr. Greg Abbott. Mr. Samuel Caster and the Mannatech company was charged to be conducting an illegal business scheme, by the Texas Attorney General.
However, reports say Mannatech and Mr. Caster have already resolved the class action lawsuit in 2009 by paying $1 Million on top of the penalties.
Is Mannatech a Pyramid Scheme?
To answer this question accordingly, let us define Pyramid Scheme first.
What is a Pyramid Scheme?
An entity is considered a pyramid scheme when its sole focus is recruiting people to join their company without selling legit products.
When the company emphasizes on promising to give incentives to its members for sponsoring or recruiting people to join its community, rather than the sale of its product, then one such company can be tagged as a Pyramid Scheme. Focus is on growing his own business network than selling a product.
Does Pyramid Scheme make money?
Yes, they make heaps of money! However, their scheme is illegal.
The goal in Pyramid Schemes is to create a huge network of members. The more members you will be able to recruit to your team, the more incentives you can get, and your rewards percentage also grow bigger. The company also gives team bonus for each growing network.
So the members are encouraged to keep recruiting and they no longer focus on selling the product since the profit from the networking side is bigger than the profit from selling the products.
FTC bans such scheme as it is considered illegal.
So, Is Mannatech a Pyramid Scheme?
No, Mannatech is not a Pyramid Scheme. This nutritional supplements brand has a legit business model. It does not operate on solely recruiting members.
Mannatech has solid sales from its nutritional supplements lineup of products. Members benefit from selling Mannatech products.
But, when it comes to building a business, you have plenty of options.
And even if you're dead set on becoming a multi-level network marketer, you've got way better options than Mannatech.
Keep in mind, I don't get paid to promote any of the programs I review. I personally think MLM is a great business model, but you could end up leaving way too much money on the table.
