If you are one of those business owners who are desperate for your business to grow, you sure will research everything you need to do and find a way to make it happen.
You begin to spend a lot of time watching webinars, reading blogs, subscribing to YouTube channels, and downloading a ton of guides or anything you find helpful on the internet.
Businesses start to target and re-target you in their ads; hence you see more similar content appearing on your screen. You then subscribe to every email list that pops up because why not? The ads make it look effortless.
Finally, you take one step further and pay a ton for an online course that promises to give you the conversions you need for your business.
But what happens next after this?
I don’t know to you, but I know what it did for me when I tried Steve’s Marketing Funnel Academy…
In this review, I will attempt to be as honest as I can so I can to help you figure out if Marketing Funnel Academy is the ideal program to help you create the best funnels for your site.
We’ll also talk about whether Facebook ads is the right online business for you.
At the end, I’ll answer some concerns regarding the Marketing Funnel Academy program and funnels in general.
And most important, I’ll show you the exact system I used to build my own internet marketing business to over $40,000 a month in mostly passive income.
This system made me swear off Facebook ads for good, because it uses some of the same skills in a much more powerful and profitable way!

What Is Marketing Funnel Academy?
Before I dive into my review of Steve Hofstetter’s Marketing Funnel Academy, let me share first a little about them.
Steve and his team started out in the business as an online learning space to train business people and aspiring entrepreneurs on “funnels.”
Funnels are an automated lead generation system that creates a marketing sequence that breaks down the “purchasing journey” of potential clients to get their contact information (email info) so you can eventually use it to sell or make an offer.
The idea is to attract as many potential clients as possible and narrow them down to potential leads who will most likely make a purchase – as in the conical shape of funnels, wider at the top, and narrower at the bottom end.
However, the word “funnel” when used online is likely to refer to automation.
Who Started The Marketing Funnel Academy?
Steve Hofstetter is the guy behind the Marketing Funnel Academy course.
Happily married and pretty much a family man, Steve lives with his wife and three children in Gilbert, Arizona, his wife’s hometown.
You might be asking whether or not Steve is some puffed-up, self-proclaimed guru (because you know there’s a lot out there).
This is what I found when I did my own research on Steve: he has a total net worth amounting to 4 million dollars! Not only that, Clickfunnels 2 Comma Club has featured him quite a few times.

He is absolutely a legit online educator and marketer.
Who Is Steve Hofstetter?
Steve is an expert in his field. Their company operates like a well-oiled system, and they’ve been in operation for a long time.
Since my research way back 2017, I couldn’t find other successful and active social apart from paid ads.
The main thing is that you don’t have to be everywhere and exhaust all ways to develop a business.
The whole pitch behind Marketing Funnel Academy’s existing main offer is automating the performance and client-getting approach, which frees you up from trying to do everything so you can do just one thing:
Make sales calls, follow up with clients, and fulfill the offer.
Steve and his team do put their words into action.
What To Expect In This Course
When I called Steve, I already had a company in place that I wanted to develop.
The leads were coming in, but they weren’t what I hoped. They were a lot, but the target clients were just too few.
So much so that I was willing to spend a lot of money to see my conversion rates launch into space like Elon Musk’s rockets.
Are you a newbie to funnels? By all means, feel free to keep reading to learn more, but Steve’s course is obviously not for you.
Why is this so?
Steve’s course is distinct from conventional “educational” courses in that his end purpose is totally different.
He doesn’t want to drop a massive information bomb on you and then drop you with a “Nice knowing You,” as Jay Gatsby did (Leonardo DiCaprio).
Instead, Steve’s goal is to give you a full-on optimized and operating funnel and the information to make the best of it.

THE PROCESS FOR MFA: DONE FOR YOU FUNNELS
Nowadays, I see many advertisers throwing out every tactic they can use to get their own customers.
You’ll see an advertisement that says, “No Blogging! Put an end to the advertisements! Stop with the free stuff!”
Then you take the bait, click on the ads, read what’s there, and watch a free online training they offer – only to be told a completely different thing from what you’ve just watched, even though the fact of the matter is that this is what the guru did to get you into their pipeline.
Marketing Funnel Academy is kinda one of these guys.
They put their words into action sometimes but not always.
There is one ad, one video clip, one offer, and one email per day.
The only changing factor is that they make somewhat different ads and deals for various markets or audiences.
They use the same funnel that they create for you in their own company, which I like.
- So you see an advertisement.
- Click and go to a video clip
- See if there is a call to action to schedule a sales call.
- If you leave the tab, you’ll receive a slew of amusing sales letters, all urging you to schedule a call.
- You make a phone call.
- Get on the phone with a dealer, and you’ll get the pitch as well as a quick action bonus.
- That is a high-ticket investment.
Break Down of Marketing Funnels Academy
Module 1: Customer Avatar
This first module is primarily concerned with consumer research and analysis.
Steve makes you go through an experiment before building Your Funnel to help you learn more about your client.
Put simply, Steve and his team need this knowledge to better craft the pipeline to convert your clients.
At the very least, you must be familiar with the following (and the more, the better):
- Your Ideal Customers’ Demographics (Age, Gender, Education, Where they live, etc.)
- Your Ideal Customers’ Wants (What are their ambitions, goals and dreams?)
- Your Ideal Customers’ Challenges (What’s stopping them from achieving their goals? Some possibilities are: Money, lack of education, negative mindset…)
- Your Ideal Customers’ Objections (Why would they say no to your product’s offer?)
Steve conducts an interview with you about your ideal customer, using a related worksheet as a reference.
When you’ve gathered all of your data, it’s time to create the traffic source for your funnel.
Even though it has been more expensive in recent years, Steve recommends Facebook as the best source of prospects. (Here is where Steve and I disagree; I like Freetraffic more.)
Module 2: Create Highly Targeted Ads On Facebook
Now that you know who you want to advertise, it’s time to build the ad that will drive browsers and scrollers into your funnel.
Steve discusses a variety and broad selection of topics in this segment but focuses on the five mentioned below:
- Starting with a High Enough Budget
- Knowing What Part of Your Ad to Change
- Using Hybrid Photos (They both Attract and Inform)
- The 2 Simplest Ways to Get Your Ads to Covert
- Setting and Tracking Goals for Campaigns
Providing a few different kinds of proven landing pages that have served him well in the past, Steve shares his knowledge of what key aspects of a landing page need to be tuned to the oncoming traffic.
Module 3: Utilizing 3 Types of High-Converting Landing Pages
Steve shares his experience of what a landing page ought to complement the oncoming traffic by including a few different types of proven landing pages that have served him well in the past.
Below are the different parts of a landing page which you will learn how to optimize in this module:
- Focusing the Message
- Crafting a Bold and Powerful Headline
- Composing a crystal clear description of your offering
- Eliminating non-essential navigation elements

Steve and his team really excel in their understanding of landing pages!
They scrutinized my new funnel with a hawk’s eye and brought several minor improvements to my attention.
That is one of the wonderful aspects of the MFA community.
Not only do they do the majority of the busy work for you, but they also advise you about how to develop your future marketing structures, which is why I believe they call it an “academy” rather than just a “service.”
Module 4: Adding Free Value Using Education
One of the most crucial ways, according to Steve, to keep prospects flowing across the funnel is to continue providing “value” as they carry on with the process.
Steve’s kind of “value,” and hence his first recommendation, is digital content in the form of either a downloaded ebook (pdf) or video instruction or both.
These digital and informational products have several advantages:
Number one, they are less expensive: Apart from the costs of creation, they are free, which reduces company expenses. (This is in contrast to sending a book or DVD, which will incur both content and delivery costs.)
Number 2 Professional: This insightful content demonstrates that you know what you’re talking about and place you as the authority in the field, putting you in a position of influence.
Number 3 Higher Quality Leads: As they gather more details, candidates are weeded out, so others will discover they are on the wrong track and exit the sales pipeline, while some will pick up the pace, confident that the offer is the one for them.
This screening process improves your planned sales calls’ reliability by limiting them to only the most interested prospects.
Below are the two major subjects addressed:

All Things Considered, Is It A worthwhile Investment? Can You Make Money With It?
In the end, it’s all up to you, but I hope you do not rush into it.
Steve has put together an insightful course and a really supportive team that walk you through every step in creating a perfect sales funnel before building it for you and handing you the reins.
Their material is among higher level in the industry, which explains why it doesn’t come cheap.
But, if you already have a company and want to improve your pipeline, as I did, the Marketing Funnel Academy probably won’t be your golden goose.
You can certainly make money with Funnels, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to become a Facebooks ads marketing strategist (which, trust me, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.
The program that helped skyrocket my online business to $50,000+ per month teaches some of the same advertising skills, but shows you how to monetize them in a much, MUCH more profitable way.
Would I Recommend Marketing Funnel Academy? Is It A Scam?
It isn’t a scam at all.
It’s well worth the money just to get the ad copy and technical things done for me. And it is just a portion of what they have to offer.
But what if you don’t have a product, have no idea who your target customer is, and are desperate?
Narrow down what you’re trying to sell by doing some research first.
If you were anything like me in 2017, you could struggle with the attitude part of charging high ticket if you’ve never done it before.
Also, I suggest that you start by checking your offer with free traffic and social media first.
If it fails to convert with free traffic, it won’t either with paid traffic.
Suppose you have a high-ticket offer that has some traction and you’re tired of playing small:
Make an MFA. It might be fine.
And if you’re a newbie and your offer hasn’t been checked, it may be worth it to use their funnel to have free traffic tested.
In general, I believe that paying traffic is a safer choice after the offer has been decided and checked.
Generally, I personally think paid traffic isn’t the best option once your offer is determined and tested. Free traffic always converts at a much HIGHER rate.
It is entirely possible to build a profitable, successful online business without spending a lot of money however.

You are having to compete with like 1 million other people to sell the same product…it’s crazy hard!
But now let’s flip the script…
How many people do you think are competing to cut down trees in Bossier City Louisiana?
So now that we’ve established that competition for local lead generation is much less than for advertising…let’s talk about the money. It’s always about the money right?
Most Advertising products you would sell are likely $50-$100 and on top of that you’re lucky if you’re making a 10-20% margin from Amazon because of it.
That means you’ll have to sell 1,000-2,000 of products just to reach a decent income of 5k per month. You definitely have your work cut out for you on that end…
Now let’s take a look back at that tree service example again…
The average tree service job is worth anywhere from $500-$2,000 and most contractors are generous with their referral fees, being known to pay out roughly 10-20% of the final ticket.
So now it’s time for some math…
Let’s say you build and rank one of these sites in a local area with very little competition and after 3 months, your site is at the top of page one locally.
And let’s say that worst cases scenario you only end of with just 10 calls.
On top of that, let’s say Covid hit the tree service guy and his family extra hard this year and he can only pay you 10%.
Going off the lowest numbers possible here…that means that just one of these sites could bring you in $500 a month. Now let’s say you build 10 of these things…you’re looking at 5k a month and you’re generating literally 1/10th of the traffic you would need to make that much with eCommerce!
Sound too good too be true…?
