Jumpcut Viral Academy Reviews (2024): Legit or Scam?

Jumpcut Viral Academy Reviews ([year]): Legit or Scam?

It’s another one of those making money online courses that is centered around sales. It is promoted by Jesse and Kong. To put it simply it’s basically a how to course.

It shows you how to make “viral” YouTube videos…but you have to do all the searching and editing yourself.

You might even have to put up an ad for this on different platforms to get interest…YIKES!

One of the main selling points of Viral Academy ironically is that entertainment is a high demand skill.

Not only that, but a course like this gives people the hope that they can make money online. And while we have to be honest for this review…

Viral Academy does come with some very helpful information to make money online and land some massive YouTube checks.

We’re going to review Viral Academy to decide if it really is the best YouTube course out there.

We’ll talk about whether YouTube is the right online business model for you.

At the end, I’ll answer some of the most frequently asked questions regarding Viral Academy and YouTube in general.

And most importantly, I’ll show you the exact system I used to build my own internet marketing business to over $40,000 a month in mostly passive income.

This system made me swear off YouTube for good, because it uses some of the same skills in a much more powerful and profitable way!

But more on that later.

For now let’s hop into all things Viral Academy!

DISCLAIMER:

This Viral Academy review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

PROS
  • The income potential for being an influencer is appealing
  • Teaches the basics of online marketing
  • There is a decent amount of training in the courses
CONS
  • It might not be the right program for someone who is camera shy
  • It can be difficult to make money with the training
  • Their support could use some improvement

Why Listen To Us

My name is Josiah, and this is my Dad, Joel.why listen us

Together, we make up the team here at Scamrisk.

If you’ll let me bother you for two minutes, I’d like to quickly explain why I’m even here writing this review.

In early 2020, I had just graduated from college & had no real career prospects.

I knew I was destined for something more, but I had no clue how I was going to make it happen.

I had this sinking feeling in my gut all the time… like the “big man upstairs” had accidentally given me the version of life where I’d be mediocre forever, instead of the one where I was, ya know – happy & fulfilled.

Anyway…

I had fiddled around with some different online businesses in college:

Some random MLMs, a bit of affiliate marketing, a (failed) dropshipping store or two, all the usual suspects.

Even my dad had been involved in MLMs back in the day… selling knives & other random nonsense people (probably) didn’t need.

All I really wanted was to find something that was going to actually work for me.

Maybe those things had worked for others, but for me it all turned up a fat “0” in the bank account department.

So I searched! And searched… and searched… and searched…

And eventually, I somehow stumbled upon a program that promised to help me build an income online (read about it here if you’re curious).

I didn’t really want to be “rich”.

The thought of making a reliable $5K per month & not having to worry about clocking in to a 9-to-5 ever again was all I needed.

Sure, there were people in the program doing high-6 and low-7 figures per year… but that wasn’t what I was out for.

I just wanted to provide freedom for myself, and if I was lucky, take my family along for the ride.

Fast forward a few days and a few phone calls & I was enrolled!

Here’s the first “money making website” I put up:

why listen us gif

I built that site in 2020, and it still makes me $1,500 per month. It’s a basic 5 page website I built based on a template the program provides.

The best part to me? My dad and I get to do it all together!

So between the:

  1. Ease of reaching $5-$10K per month in income online

  2. Straightforward-ness of the system to do it

  3. Fact that I get to do it w/ my family

Is why I recommend local lead generation as my #1 business model for making money online.

Sure, it takes some work and dedication – but anyone that tells you that there’s a business out there that requires no work is selling you a lemon.

I’m not saying you need to sign up for the same program I did, but I would definitely recommend giving the business model a peek!

Vid #1: The Channel Ideas Scorecard

This video is basically a summary of the rest of the course, but they do draw attention to the 1,000 True Fans blueprint, which covers how to find a subset of people who love the content you provide and would have interest in buying what you have. This part is likely the most crucial piece of advice to follow.

After that, they will guide you through the steps to build a highly successful and profitable, finding fans for your video channel, and thinking up video ideas that have a lot of passion. Of course, they stress that it doesn't come easy and will take some work.

  • Action 1: Passionate idea
  • Action 2: Create an audience
  • Action 3: Monetize the audience

Vid #2: The Remix Strategy:

This is where they go over what they call their "Remix Strategy". The idea here is to come up with video ideas that people can't help to share across social media, even if the idea isn't necessarily original.

They say that this is how Jesse and Kong got so many people to see their videos with more than 1 Million view, and in certain cases, even more than than 30 Million views.

social media influencers

Vid #3: The Traits of Virality:

There are basically 3 psychological triggers:

  • Story telling
  • Provoke emotions
  • Creating something original

The idea here is that these triggers will cause people to share your video so it goes viral.

influencer intel

Vid #4: The Influencer Economy

The last video in this training series they go into more detail about how Jesses & Kong, who were college dropouts, became successful entrepreneurs by building an online business making millions of dollars with their very first YouTube channel.

Then, Jesse will outline the key type of mindset that one need to become the next YouTube Success Story and then provide you with case studies of his students who make tens of thousands in passive income.

How Much Does Viral Academy Course Cost?

Just to recap, there is no cost for the YouTube Influencer 101 course from Jumpcut. All you have to do is provide your name and email address.

Kong has mentioned on Reddit that the price of the course is $997 for a one-time fee with lifetime access, or you can pay for the course over a period of 6 months.

Even though the Influencer course is free, you'll likely be put on a waiting list to get the main course. Knowing this, we sent off an email to their support team to get any additional information like:

  • Release date
  • Cost
  • Pricing for upgrades
  • Refund policy

We'll cover that shortly.

Kong also mentions in Reddit that the Jumpcut course has a 100% risk-free guarantee for 365 days... that is as long as you make a good faith attempt to work through the assignments in the course.

Yeah, that sounds like a reasonable policy, but if you're gonna put in the amount of grueling work to become a YouTube Influencer (which, trust me, isn't easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.

The program that helped skyrocket my online business to $50,000+ per month teaches some of the affiliate marketing skills, but shows you how to monetize them in a much, MUCH more profitable way.

Who Are The Professionals Behind Jumpcut?

Jumpcut was founded in Los Angelis California by Kong Pham, the company's CEO, and Jess Jhaj, the company's CCO (Chief Content Officer). They've been in business since 2014. In 2016, they also went through the Y Combinator program and earned a place in the top 10 of 50 companies.

Peter Lu is the company's COO (Chief Operating Officer). He was employed with Bain & Company as an associate consultant. He also had a position as a project associate for advancements for poverty action

The company has been given fairly good reviews on its Facebook page, with almost 190 uses giving them an average rating of 4.4 starts. These ratings were based on customer support as well as provide high quality information.

However, there were some complaints (albeit very few) that mostly focused on there not being enough information in the FREE course and the high price of the main course. With that said, the company always responded promptly in order to keep an open conversation and receive any suggestions.

We did find that there were customer reviews with an average of 4.2 stars in the area of Google Maps stating pretty much the same compliments as the others. There were a few 1 start complaints, but there wasn't any information detailing the complaints. As always, a representative was there to address and concerns.

In addition to these sites, there were a couple of Reddit users who said that although they like what they had learned from the Jumpcut program, they hadn't learned anything that they couldn't have gotten anywhere else, even for free. From what we've read, a member ever wrote a review that where he criticized the concepts not being able to be used universally, that the video quality wasn't really all that good, and the support had pretty much been inactive.

Kong did, however, promptly reply to them so that he could personally address those issues.

As of 2018, Jumpcut has maintained a Better Business Bureau rating of C-. Beyond that no other information has been made readily available.

My Final Thoughts About Jumpcut

Just like any other entrepreneurial endeavor, it will take hard work, determination, and a persistent drive to work through failure. Creating Youtube videos that go viral comes with a lot of trial and error.

Even though there are people who have found success in a short amount of time and can offer you insights to avoid pitfalls, there is no better teacher for success than learning from your mistakes. We like the fact that Jumpcut points this out very clearly to prospective members.

In addition, the company gets mostly positive reviews from their members on their Facebook page and on Google Maps. Also, whatever negative member reviews that were found on Reddit were promptly address by Kong.

So, with that said... spending $1000 on a program might be a bit of a hit to take for the main course, but if your able to find success, chase your passion, and make a living by doing what you love to do... $1000 might be money well spent.

In fact, Peter Lu's has made it a point that Jumpcut wants to assure their future students that they are there to help them succeed. Also, with the money back guarantee, you really don't have anything to lose with the course.

Just remember that if your want to get started, you have to sign up with the YouTube Influencer 101 course to get a good idea of the course and the video training. In fact, from what we've seen in their enrollment, this is the only way to go.

So is it a scam or is it legit?

Being a YouTube Influencer is certainly legit, and we see no red flags with Jumpcut Viral Academy, other than if you're shy being on camera.

BUT!

YouTube changes its monetization policy way too often these days.

This means one of your best videos could be demonetized with nothing you could do to change it. In fact, this has happened to SEVERAL YouTubers and it hasn't been just one video...it's been like half their channel!

A while back YouTube updated it's policy on language and all of a sudden any video that had adult language like "F***" were demonetized. That alone decimated several channels.

The point here is that you don't have as much control over your income with YouTube as you'd like to think...

It is entirely possible to build a profitable, successful online business aside from being a YouTube Influencer however.

My #1 pick proves this. And unlike Jumpcut Viral Academy, it actually provides real proof of real success from real people as recently as a few days ago.

Are There Alternatives To Being A YouTube Influencer ?

There are quite a few other options to consider.

I mean, there are programs like:

  • Affiliate marketing.
  • _Am_azon FBA.
  • _Am_azon Affiliate
  • Google Ads
  • SEO and Content Creation

You see where I'm heading with this...

So, the $64k question is this... what is better than being a YouTube Influencer?

_T_hree words: Digital Leasing

What Is Our Top Recommendation For Making Money Online In 2024?

Digital Leasing

Our review team has come across a program in the real estate industry that is next level!

Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.

Yup, Digital Leasing!

Where Viral Academy falls short is in scalability.

You can’t realistically expect to be able to set up a bunch of different Affiliate Marketing blogs and get NATIONAL traffic to them.

It just takes too many resources (money included) for any regular person to bootstrap.

But what if you could make even more money off of little local websites without having to spend tens of thousands to set up an affiliate blog?

With this Digital Leasing program, you can profit off LOCAL traffic to your website every single day!

Sound too good to be true? Of course it does! But it isn’t…in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!

All you have to do is build and rank a LOCAL website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, you could even email it to them!

This works for literally any service based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc.

How do you get paid and how much?

Simple, after you forward the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.

A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%…let’s just use the tree service industry for example and go by worst case scenario.

Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 10 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000!

That means at bare minimum you have an asset worth $500 a month!

See why they call it Digital Leasing now? That’s a rent payment.

The great thing is how easy it is to scale. You don’t have to worry about spending boatloads of money on a single traffic source to get CRUMBS in affiliate income.

Remember Jumpcut Viral Academy talking about their little 10% commission off a $50 product?

This one actually allows you to collect HUGE FLAT RATE DEALS. Truly passive income!

The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice over when he is sharing his screen.

You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc.

Once the training program is completed you will also have access to a Facebook group much better than the Viral Academy group in our opinion. This group is much more active.

Lance Lead Gen

Unlike Jumpcut Academy, where you’re getting maybe $5 per sale, you could be getting 10-20X THAT.

A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name…they see it as it is…expanding Digital Leasing.

Unlike Viral Academy, more people have been able to walk away from their 9-5 job as well.

Now, I know you probably have tons of questions… So, check this out to learn more.
