Team National Reviews (2024): Is Team National Legitimate?

By: JosiahDec 08, 2023Network Marketing
Team National Reviews ([year]): Is Team National Legitimate?

It’s another one of those making money online programs that is centered around selling a membership program.

It’s supposed to show you how to become a “6 figure network marketer” but most members don’t make money promoting other products.

But the truth is, it's really hard to make money on a tiny commission.

If you want to really build wealth online, (at an average of $1,500 per sale PER MONTH), check out our #1 recommendation here.

Now, I want to be totally honest in this review, so...

Team National does come with some very helpful information to make money online and land some massive commission checks…

But it really needs to be updated.

At the end, I’ll answer some of the most frequently asked questions regarding Team National and cheap network marketing in general.

And most importantly, I’ll show you the exact system I used to build my own internet marketing business to over $40,000 a month in mostly passive income.

This system made me swear off network marketing for good, because it uses some of the same skills but in a much more powerful and profitable way!

But more on that later.

For now let’s hop into all things Team National!

DISCLAIMER:

This Team National review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

PROS
  • Generous compensation plan
  • No monthly sales quotas to hit
CONS
  • Products are expensive
  • It's expensive to join
  • Hidden monthly fees

Why Listen To Us

My name is Josiah, and this is my Dad, Joel.why listen us

Together, we make up the team here at Scamrisk.

If you’ll let me bother you for two minutes, I’d like to quickly explain why I’m even here writing this review.

In early 2020, I had just graduated from college & had no real career prospects.

I knew I was destined for something more, but I had no clue how I was going to make it happen.

I had this sinking feeling in my gut all the time… like the “big man upstairs” had accidentally given me the version of life where I’d be mediocre forever, instead of the one where I was, ya know – happy & fulfilled.

Anyway…

I had fiddled around with some different online businesses in college:

Some random MLMs, a bit of affiliate marketing, a (failed) dropshipping store or two, all the usual suspects.

Even my dad had been involved in MLMs back in the day… selling knives & other random nonsense people (probably) didn’t need.

All I really wanted was to find something that was going to actually work for me.

Maybe those things had worked for others, but for me it all turned up a fat “0” in the bank account department.

So I searched! And searched… and searched… and searched…

And eventually, I somehow stumbled upon a program that promised to help me build an income online (read about it here if you’re curious).

I didn’t really want to be “rich”.

The thought of making a reliable $5K per month & not having to worry about clocking in to a 9-to-5 ever again was all I needed.

Sure, there were people in the program doing high-6 and low-7 figures per year… but that wasn’t what I was out for.

I just wanted to provide freedom for myself, and if I was lucky, take my family along for the ride.

Fast forward a few days and a few phone calls & I was enrolled!

Here’s the first “money making website” I put up:

why listen us gif

I built that site in 2020, and it still makes me $1,500 per month. It’s a basic 5 page website I built based on a template the program provides.

The best part to me? My dad and I get to do it all together!

So between the:

  1. Ease of reaching $5-$10K per month in income online

  2. Straightforward-ness of the system to do it

  3. Fact that I get to do it w/ my family

Is why I recommend local lead generation as my #1 business model for making money online.

Sure, it takes some work and dedication – but anyone that tells you that there’s a business out there that requires no work is selling you a lemon.

I’m not saying you need to sign up for the same program I did, but I would definitely recommend giving the business model a peek!

What Is Team National USA?

Team National USA

Team National is a network marketing company and membership savings company that is located in Ft. Lauderdale.

Dick Loehr founded the company in 1997.

Then in 2000, his daughter, Angela Loehr Chrysler joined the team.

In 2006 Angela became the president of Team National. And after her father, Dick Loehr died in 2008 she took over Team National.

One of the nice things about this company is that they are a member of the Direct Selling Association (DSA), Dun and Bradstreet (D&B) and The US Chamber of Commerce.

Being part of these associations gives them great credibility and when you couple that with being in business for over 23 years they are a solid company.

In 2016, Team National reached $659 Million in sales. That's pretty impressive for an MLM model.

What Does Team national Sell?

Team national Sell

The easiest way to describe this company is that they are a membership discount company with a variety of products and services.

You'll have group buying power with products and services that include:

  • Vehicles
  • Health discount benefit plans
  • Communication services
  • Travel insurance
  • Financial services
  • Rental cars
  • Business savings
  • Team National product line

These are all factory direct items that you'll get at a 65% discount.

Team National Product Line

Team National is mostly about selling discounts, but you'll find that there isn’t a ton of information about the discounts they are selling.

Yet you'll find people raving about how good their discounts are while others are saying that they aren't.

Let's take a look at the 4 different Team National Categories of Memberships that this company provides:

1. Team National Factory Direct

Team National Factory

This is the furniture division which includes, indoor and outdoor furniture, spas, flooring, and saunas. You'll deal directly with the manufacturer and members will have a savings of up to 65%.

2. Team National Group Buying Power

Members will have savings with a large group of wholesalers, manufacturers, and distributors that Team National has negotiated with for their members to get exclusive discounts.

Some of these include vehicles, financial services, health discount benefit plans, rental cars & trucks, communication services, business savings, travel and insurance.

So you can get savings on buying a new or used car, debt management, vision nd dental plans, save on your high-speed internet and more. How much we don't really know. There is no place to find a specific discount on a sticker price or big ticket items.

3. Team National Business Exchange

Team National Business Exchange allows you to save at thousands of local and small businesses across the USA. Team National provides business exchanges for construction, home maintenance, real estate, automotive, life insurance, travel, business related items and more.

4. Team National E-Commerce

Team National allows their members to earn 30% commissions by selling over 100 popular brands with their own private label items.

You'll find products that fall under the nutrition, kids, and automotive care department niche.

But you never really find out what the specific products are so you can compare them to other popular brands. You have to join in order to learn this information.

They say that these items are 50% lower on average than industry standard pricing.

5. Big N Marketplace (Optional)

As an IMD member you'll be able to earn commission on the product that you buy. Technically this is considered a rebate not really a commission.

However it isn't clear if you'll earn commissions from others.

How Does Team National Work?

Team National Work

So the way that you'll earn money with Team National is by selling discount memberships to other people as well as through affiliate commissions with their online marketplace.

One of the other ways that you can earn is by recruiting new Independent Marketing Directors. The more you grow your downline the more money that you can make and the Team National plan says it has unlimited depth in regards to your downline. This means that no matter who recruited the IMD you can earn money from their sales.

You'll earn points that are based on your sales. Here's how they work,

  • You'll earn three points with a lifetime membership
  • You'll earn one point with a standard two-year membership

How Much Does It Cost To Join Team National?

There are different memberships to choose from in order to become an Independent Marketing Director. It's free to get involved with the earnings program, but you will need to pay for a membership package.

There are two other membership packages that you can buy. - the Premium Membership and the Standard Membership.

Premium Membership

This is a lifetime membership cost $2,195 and will cover your immediate family. This includes your Grandparents, Children and Grandchildren.

Standard Membership - $795

Team National

This standard membership will cover your houseld for two years of savings.

These Team National memberships aren’t cheap so it's not going to be to sell to your friends and family.

What Is Their Compensation Plan?

Team National Compensation Plan

There are two different ways that you can make money with Team National.

Team National isn't your typical company. They have an unusual product type.

But the way to earn money remains the same as nearly every other MLM and affiliate program.

You earn money by selling the service and building a downline.

Let's take a closer look at the two,

Making Money From Product Sales

Team National companies is some what confusing because the company itself doesn't really sell products.

They sell memberships to purchase products for a discounted rate.

Some of these are large well known brands and products.

But Team National never really tells you what the discounts are, just that they are considerable.

So there are four different areas of discounts that are available. These are:

  • Team National Factory Direct: This includes savings on physical items.
  • Group Buying Power: Savings for different types of services for both individuals and businesses.
  • Business Services: Discounts for local businesses.
  • Rebate Program. These are offers for individuals to earn cashback on purchases from different retailers.

So basically Team National is a buying club. The company uses it's purchasing power to buy items so that it can offer them at a discounted price.

This is no different than Costcos, and BJ's Wholesale club. Except that they have a physical store that has a membership fee to purchase their products.

Team National sells two different discount programs.

Another thing that Team National doesn’t do a good job of on their website is giving information other than telling you how much members pay - $795 for a 2-year membership or you can get a lifetime membership for $2,915.

So basically you need to pay a lot of money to save money on things that you'll have to purchase.

That's a hard sell isn't it?

You'd have to buy a lot of things in order to get your money's worth in savings..... wouldn't you?

The Value Of Savings

Selling discounts isn't the typical sell, but there is certainly a demand for savings.

Thats one of the reasons Costcos and other membership stores have so much success.

But their membership fee is also a fraction of the cost of Team Nationals membership program.

So that's a major difference with these discount membership companies.

Here's another example,

You've likely purchased coupon booklets that are sold by your own kids or friends kids school and for their sports league to raise money.

The only reason why people really buy them is to help the kid out.

Think about it if you've purchased it, did you use any of the coupons in there?......maybe one.....tops two.

You didn't even save enough to make up for the money spent on the booklet.

When it comes to selling discounts it's not the easiest sell, especially when there's not a good cause attached to it - like helping the neighborhood kid play soccer, or get new uniforms for basketball.

And the fact that Team National doesn't do a good job of telling you the quality of the products or how big of a discount you'll be getting makes the sell that much harder.

While you can find some people talking about discounts there aren't so many reviews about Team National, and being in business for over 20 years you'd link they would have a ton of reviews.

This leads me to believe that maybe the savings aren't.

The reviews that you do find are often not about the product line or savings themselves. They are generally about whether or not this MLM is a scam or not.

And if you have the ability to make money by joining with one of their discount memberships.

And while the ability to make money does exists, you have a big disadvantage if the membership savings isn't enough.

I mean after all, the whole point of this membership is to save money.

So your offer is only as good as your membership.

Now this isn't to say that the discounts aren't good. They very well maybe, but why isn't there more information about it.

Income From Membership Sales

So you can also make money selling Team National membership sales.

The members will earn $50 for selling a standard 2-year membership and $100 selling a lifetime membership.

For most MLM companies the average commission rate is usually between 20-30%. Team National seems to be on the very low side of commisions.

And if your customer finances their membership or uses their credit card you'll get $25 for the standard membership and $50 for the premium membership.

Make Money Building A Team

Make Money Building A Team

As with any MLM building a team is how you can make money.

And you have the ability to earn bonuses, such as a progression bonus from what you sell and what your downline sells.

Here's how the system will work,

Your first 2 sales that you make will be placed under you as your left and right legs. Then you'll place the following sales on the left or right, depending on which will work best.

Now with the help of the people you recruit you'll get points for the sales and for the people they recruit to join.

We mentioned this earlier.

What Other People Are Saying In Their Team National Review

Team National Review

As with any opportunity or product you plan on investing money into, you'll want to see what other people have to say about the company.

And this rings true with Team National. Is there a possibility that Team National is a scam.

You'll find multiple websites where people have left some reviews about Team National that will give you some good insight into the experiences they have had.

Here are the best websites to look at:

  • Better Business Bureau
  • RipOffReport
  • Facebook
  • Indeed
  • Glassdoor
  • Blog Comments

Better Business Bureau

Better Business Bureau

Team nation is not accredited by the BBB. And with an overall rating of an A+ they have 25 customer reviews at the time this Team National review was written.

In the last 12 months, they've closed 6 complaints and within the past 3 years they've closed 12 complaints. nearly all of the complaints were about the products and services.

Some complaints were that the company didn't process the rebates as they said that they would. And Team National responds to these complaints stating they it takes a maximum of 90 days to process rebates.

Ripoff Report

Ripoff Report

There are several complaints on RipOffReport for this company. Some of the people say that they feel that this company took advantage of them by making promises that they could not keep.

There was one complaint that claims Team National is a scam, because they had a hard time getting in touch with anyone.

Facebook

Facebook

If you check Team National's Facebook page you'll find that they have 4.6 of five stars based on the opinion of 507 people on Facebook at least this is the case at the time of writing this review.

You'll notice that many of the positive reviews are from people who are attempting to recruit IMDs for their downline.

But you will definitely find reviews from consumers as well and talk about how much money they were able to save when buying services and products through Team National.

Some of the team national reviews claim there were no savings when buying services and products.

INDEED

INDEED

Team National has 4.5 stars out of five with Indeed and 15 reviews from employees from corporate.

For the most part all of these reviews say that they are happy with management.

Team National was recognized in 2020 for being both the Top Places to Work and The Best Places to Work.

Those are pretty great accomplishments.

Glass Door

[caption id="attachment_3918" align="aligncenter" width="597"]IMAGE GOES HERE Glassdoor (PRNewsFoto/Glassdoor)[/caption]

Team National had 4.6 of five stars on Glassdoor with a total of seven reviews on this website.

Two of the reviews look as if they are from IMDs and the rest are from people who work in the corporate office.

Blog Comments

Team National has been the hot topic on many blogs.

They talk about how to become Independent Marketing Directors with Team National.

You'll find a mixture of comments with both positive and negtaive comments.

While many of the positive reviews seem to be from the members trying to recruit and the negraive comments seem to be about not earning enough money and that they company isn't transparent with their fees.

Is Team National A Scam?

While I don't believe that Team National is a scam I do believe that they teeter on the borderline.

Mostly because there isn't a clear understanding of the products, services, and discounts.

They follow the guidelines and stay within the the boundaries of the law and with the Direct Selling Association as well as with the Federal Trade Commission’s Amway

But they do however push some of these boundaries.

But they aren't alone with this practice.

Maybe they aren't training their members good enough to properly portray their company, and this is often the issues with MLM's.

They are only as good as the people that are training them.

Is Team National A Pyramid Scheme?

No they are not a pyramid scheme. They are not doing anything illegal.

Basically, a pyramid scheme is a business model that recruited people to make money without actually providing them with anything. They sell you on a dream to be rich with minimal effort.

While many MLM's often borderline a pyramid scheme Team National does not.

Yes you'll have to recruit people to become an IMD and be part of your downline in order to make money. However, Team National doesn't pose themselves as a get rich quick scheme and they don't make any irrational promises to get rich.

The company isn't telling you that if you do this you'll be rich quickly or slowly. They do say that's how to make money as an IMD.

What I Like About Team National

There are plenty of good things about Team National's MLM program, especially when you compare them to the many other MLM companies out there.

They Have A Proven History

Most MLM companies will disappear within 10 years, but Team National has been around for nearly 24 years.

And have been recognized as one of the best companies to work for in 2020. That's a pretty good accomplishment. And a great sign that this company is not a scam.

Positive Team National Product Reviews

After reading the reviews and given their excellent BBB rating it's hard not to say that this is a bad company. While there are some complaints on the BBB the company addresses every single complaint with a solid explanation.

You can find many positive Team National reviews on forum sites, blog comments and on their facebook page. And finding positive reviews about the discounts was a great sign for Team National and additional proof that it is not a scam.

It has been said that most MLMs encourage their recruits to leave positive reviews, but isn't this the way that most businesses work. They haven't encouraged them to lie just to leave the review.

No Monthly Sales Quota To Remain Active

With most MLMs you have to hit a certain amount of sales each month. This usually results in people buying products so meet this quota so that they can remain active as a distributor.

With Team National you only have to sell 2 memberships per year to remain active, but no monthly sales quota to hit.

What I Don't Like About Team National

Now for the not so good with this discount membership MLM.

It's Expensive To Join

Most discount memberships programs and cash rebates programs are free to join, but Team National is expensive.

If you do a simple search engine search you'll find at least 15 legit survey sites that pay you money. Some of these companies include Rakuten. Rakuten pays you $10 to join along with discounts for your online shopping!

So you would hope that at the least Team National's discounts are going to be top-notch discounts.

Unfortunatley I didn't get that impression when I was searching for their members discounts, but remember there were some positive national reviews that said people saved with this company. And their were some negative BBB reviews of people having issues with their products.

Hidden Monthly Expenses

While it's awesome that there's no monthly sales quota to hit, there are however some hidden monlty expenses that they forget to tell you about that we uncovered in some of the reviews we've read.

Here are some of those additional monthly expenses:

  • Website- $7 a month
  • Success club- $39.95 a month
  • TN All Access subscription- $10 a month

Only 1 Out Of 167 Make Over $14K A Year

There doesn't seem to be much hope of making a ton of money with this company.

You'll find that only 1 out of 167 IMD's are consistently earning more than $1,000 a month.

You're certainly not going to be able to quit your day job.

In 2019 Team National's 2019 income disclaimer proves that only 0.6% of it's members earn more than $14,000 a year.

What Is Our #1 Recommendation To Make Money Online In 2024?

Digital Leasing

Our review team has come across a program in the real estate industry that is next level!

Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.

Yup, Digital Leasing!

Where Multi Level Marketing falls short is in scalability.

There’s only so much time in a day and there’s only so many people you can reach to sell by yourself.

MLM companies know this! Which is why they push so hard for you to recruit for your downline…you can’t get rich with it as a one man/woman show.

But what if you could make even more money off of little local websites without having to spend hundreds of dollars on overpriced products and a bunch of time recruiting people to sell under you?

With this Digital Leasing program, you can make recurring monthly income without constant sales to your friends and constant recruitment!

Sound too good to be true? Of course it does! But it isn’t…in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!

All you have to do is build and rank a LOCAL website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, you could even email it to them!

This works for literally any service based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc.

How do you get paid and how much?

Simple, after you forward the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.

A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%…let’s just use the tree service industry for example and go by worst case scenario.

Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 10 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000!

That means at bare minimum you have an asset worth $500 a month!

See why they call it Digital Leasing now? That’s a rent payment.

The great thing is how easy it is to scale. You don’t have to worry about:

  • Your upline getting paid before you
  • Begging your friends and family to buy from you
  • Recruiting people all the time

But as it is with Team National… You only get what’s left of the pie if you meet a monthly quota…

The course we recommend actually allows you to collect HUGE FLAT RATE DEALS. Truly passive income!

The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice over when he is sharing his screen.

You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc.

Once the training program is completed you will also have access to a Facebook group much better than the Team National group in our opinion. This group is much more active.

Unlike MLMs, where you’re getting maybe $10 per sale, you could be getting 10-20X THAT.

LG-Proof-Scott

A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name…they see it as it is…expanding Digital Leasing.

Unlike Team National, more people have been able to walk away from their 9-5 job as well.

Digital Leasing allows you to have total passive income with most of your day being spent WITH your friends, NOT selling to them.

Now, I know you probably have tons of questions…

So, check this out to learn more.
