Shroud Net Worth (2022 Update)

As a result of streaming and live events, casual gamers are now earning seven-figure incomes and securing multi-million dollar brand endorsement agreements. Shroud earns a substantial income from his channels. Several teams have gained success from following his footsteps.

Let’s take a closer look at Shroud, a former professional esports player who has since become a YouTube sensation.

But How Did He Make His Money?

The one thing that’s well-known about ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWs) – the folks worth at least $30 million USD – is that virtually ALL of them have some part of their fortune in real estate.

Many of the more famous rich people and “celebrity entrepreneurs” actually got their start in real estate. And that’s great for them! Not so much for us…

See, more millionaires are created during recessions than any other part of the economic cycle. Which is cool, except the last real recession was 2008, when real estate prices were in the tank and you could buy a whole neighborhood with $100,000.

Now, though, real estate prices are through the roof, and interest rates are skyrocketing too. So how does the everyday person start building a massive net worth in an economy like this one?

Have you considered Digital Real Estate?

The internet’s been around for decades, but the possibility of actually owning high-value pieces of property ON the internet is fairly new.

In other words, it’s a wide-open playing field…but it won’t stay that way forever.

Here’s a quick summary of how Digital Real Estate works:

You invest a little money (maybe around $100) to either purchase or build a piece of “land” on the internet.

You specifically place this “land” in a high-traffic area, where lots of people pass through (just like traditional real estate, it’s all about Location, Location, Location).

The folks who pass through your “land” all happen to be looking for a specific product or service, so you “rent” your land to a business owner who happens to offer that product or service.

The business owner pays you $500 to $2,000 a month to “rent” your Digital Real Estate, because it helps them connect with their ideal customers.

Think of it like buying a strip mall, or an office space, just on the internet, for WAAAAYYY less money and headache.

In the present day, Shroud is one of the world’s most popular and respected gamers.

early Life

On June 2, 1994, Michael Grzesiek was born in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was where he began his male profession in the gaming industry, jumping between numerous teams. After a while, he decided to make the move to Orange County, California, where he could devote all of his time to his work.

He helped Cloud9 win the ESL Pro League Season 4 title in 2016. Their performance at ESL One Cologne the following year saw them finish as runners-up.

Shroud stated in April 2018 that he was resigning from Cloud9 and retired from playing Counter Strike professionally.

After a year of livestreaming only on Twitch, he had amassed 100,000 followers.

Career

As a former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, the Canadian really does have some experience in the competitive eSports scene. After a few teams like Exertus and Manajuma, he ultimately found a home in Cloud9, who bought Shroud’s former squad, compLexity Gaming.

While playing for Cloud9’s CS:GO squad, his name became well-known. He signed for them in 2014 and left both Cloud9 and competitive CS:GO entirely in April 2018.  Shroud’s most famous accomplishment in the organization was helping his team win Season 4 of the ESL Pro League, defeating SK Gaming in the finals to earn him and his colleagues $200,000 (£162,000).

In spite of being an accomplished professional gamer, Shroud still found time to stream. In April of 2018, he retired from professional esports and made the switch to streaming full time. He is a unique example of someone who has effectively managed to balance a competitive and streaming career.

Shroud accepted a deal with Microsoft in October 2019 to quit Twitch and become an exclusive user of Microsoft’s Mixer app. Microsoft said in June 2020 that Mixer will be shut down and incorporated into Facebook Gaming. Facebook apparently gave him a two-times-larger deal than he had with Microsoft. When Shroud declined to join Facebook, Microsoft offered to purchase the company out of a contract. Ninja arrived to the same decision. According to reports, Shroud received $10 million and Ninja received $30 million of the $40 million total payoff.

By the end of August 2020, he was back on Twitch, and it was rumored that he paid as much as $10 million to purchase his own way out. His first stream since his comeback had more than 516,000 viewers at the same time. Shroud net worth revealed
