Scribd Vs Audible (2022 Update) UNAFFILIATED REVIEW!!!

According to a 2020 survey, the global market for audiobooks was worth $2.67 billion in 2019. Global audiobooks market capture is expected to increase at a rate greater than 24% between 2020 and 2027.

This steady increase in popularity can be attributed to the unique benefits and ease of use of audiobooks. Audiobooks can be used to listen to your favorite titles while you’re driving, running, or even doing other chores.

It’s also an excellent alternative for bibliophiles with tight schedules who can’t keep up with their literary needs.

This comparison shows you how two of the most popular audiobook platforms compare to help you make the right choice.

This review will go over Scribd and Audible to see which of the two really is the best audiobook service out there.

Now, I do want to be totally honest in this review, so…

This Scribd vs Audible review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available online to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

And at the end, I’ll answer some of the most often asked questions regarding Scribd and Audible and audiobooks in general.

But most importantly, you’ll see the exact step-by-step system that many others have used to grow their own successful online business to more than $40,000 a month in passive income.

This system made them swear off cloud-based computing for good, because it uses some of the same skills but in a much more powerful and profitable way!

  • Audiobook Library – A listing of audiobook titles.
  • Audio quality – Audio quality of each audiobook
  • The ownership of downloaded content – How do we know if an audiobook can be downloaded and who it belongs to?

Features Covered

Features Covered

  • Scribd gives you the best of both worlds with its combination of audiobooks and eBooks. It allows you to read eBooks, listen to audiobooks, and create podcasts.
  • Scribd also offers a range of magazines and the most current news articles.
  • Scribd’s original content is fantastic and was created just for Scribd.
  • This application can also be used for referring to different music sheets. This feature is extremely useful for aspiring musicians and percussionists. It also includes a list featuring the most popular songbooks and music sheets from award-winning musicians and musicals.
  • Scribd allows you to curate ebooks, audiobooks, and podcasts and offers many business documents templates and academic papers. Researchers and students can access this application to search various journals, research papers, white papers, and other information. Although this feature might not be appealing to everyone, it still provides a lot of valuable documents on one platform.

  • Audible is an audiobook service that allows you to listen to audiobooks, Audible originals, or Audible podcasts.
  • It cannot be used to read eBooks and other journals.

Scribd wins based on the amount of available content compared to Audible. In addition, Scribd offers audiobooks and ebooks, documents, magazines, and other content that users can access.

Scribd can satisfy both your reading and literary auditory pleasures.

Audiobook Library

Audiobook Library

  • Scribd library offers over 40,000 audiobook titles.
  • The platform boasts over 125,000,000 documents, business templates, and academic papers.

  • Over 200,000 audiobooks can be found on Audible. New titles are added every week.

Music sheets and documents won’t be considered since we’re only looking at the audiobook library. However, based on the sheer number of featured audiobooks, Audible would seem to be the better of the two.

Audio Quality

Audio Quality

  • Scribd’s audiobooks feature a 32 kbps bit rate. You can listen at this bit rate to your audiobooks and magazines.

  • You can choose the bitrate you prefer with Audible. Audiobooks are available in standard 32kbps and high-quality 64kbps quality.

Higher bit rates can lead to a more enjoyable auditory experience. Audiobooks can be listened to over headphones or earphones and make a noticeable difference in the audio quality.

With Audible’s 64kbps audio rendering, you can enjoy the moment Stephen Fry describes how Diagonally works.

However, a higher bitrate may result in a larger downloadable file; therefore, a lower bitrate version is the best option for a slow network connection.

I don’t think that high-quality audiobooks can pose a problem with the current networking infrastructure. Another win for Audible.

Ownership Of Downloaded Content

Ownership Of Downloaded Content

  • Scribd’s downloading feature lets you download as many audiobooks and as many as you wish. You can download all audiobooks as long as your subscription is active. When your subscription expires, you won’t be able to listen to or access any downloaded content.

  • Audible, like Scribd, allows you to purchase and download audiobooks. Audible is unique because all downloaded audiobooks will be available even when your subscription is over.

An active Scribd subscription is required to keep your downloaded audiobook library. Scribd users can only borrow audiobooks from their library as they don’t own them. So audible lets you download audiobooks.

For example, Scribd users who download 10 audiobooks per year from one of these platforms will be blocked from listening to the books after their membership expires.

A member of Audible can also listen to these audiobooks multiple times in the future.

If literature is something you are passionate about, you might consider giving your Audible library a gift to your children. Scribd users might need to prepare for their children’s subscription plans.

Yet another win for Audible.

Device Compatibility

Device Compatibility

  • Your Scribd account can be accessed from your computer, tablet, smartphone, or even an eBook reader. Here is a list of all supported devices:
  • iPhone or iPad compatible with iOS 11 or newer
  • Android smartphones and tablets running Android Lollipop
  • Fire OS or the latest version of Fire OS can be installed on Kindle devices.

  •  You can access Audible from virtually any device. Below are the supported devices:
  • iOS devices
  • Android devices
  • Kindle Fire and Oasis
  • SanDisk clip jam
  • Victor reader stream
  • Bones milestone 312
  • Alexa devices

Audible has a much wider reach than Scribd.

Audible can be accessed via smart speakers and smart TVs, making it easier for different family members to access.

Audible is again the better choice in this category.

Subscription Options

Subscription Options

  • Scribd has a 30-day trial. You’ll have to buy a membership plan if you wish to continue using Scribd’s services after the trial period ends.
  • The membership plan is pretty basic and would only cost $9.99
  • A membership plan allows you to access thousands of books and hundreds of audiobooks. There are no restrictions on the number of audiobooks and books you can listen to or read.

  • Audible also offers a 30-day free trial and a free audiobook. During the 30-day trial, you will receive 1 Audible Credit and access to all audiobooks in Audible Plus. After the 30-day trial ends, you can still use your Audible credit to purchase any premium audiobook title.
  • Two Audible Plans are available namely:
  • Audible Plus
  • Audible Premium Plus

Audible Plus And Audible Premium Plus Inclusions

Audible Plus gives you unlimited access and uses to thousands of Audible originals, podcasts, and audiobooks.

Audible Premium Plus provides all the benefits and Audible credits and allows you to download, access, and finally own a premium audiobook.

This table gives you an in-depth breakdown of the perks that each Audible plan offers which include audible exclusive audiobooks and originals:

Table Showing Benefits Of Audible Plans

There are many options for Audible Subscriptions. If you haven’t heard about Audible, you might not want to start describing the different Audible subscription options to friends.

To learn more about Audible subscription plans, go to their website and choose the right plan for you.

Scribd’s membership plans are straightforward. You can access as many eBooks as you like with only one monthly subscription.

Audible is cheaper than Scribd in terms of pricing.

Multiple Sign-In Options

Multiple Sign-In Options

  • Any title can be read or listened to on up to three browsers simultaneously, within a 24-hour window.
  • Scribd lets you save up to 4 of your content for offline reading. Additionally, you can open any title up to six times on the Scribd app. If you access Scribd titles via more than 4 devices, you will receive an email from your registered email ID advising you about multiple sign-ins.

  • Signing in to the Audible app is possible without a device limit.

Multiple device sign-in promotes easy accessibility. However, audible has no limit on the number of signed-in devices. This would make it the best choice for this category.

Other Perks

  • Scribd members get premium services free of charge, in addition to the basic features. Here are some perks available to Scribd members:
  • Free Peak Pro membership
  • Free Mubi membership
  • Free Curiosity stream
  • Free CONtv + comics membership
  • Free FarFaria membership

  • Amazon Prime members have additional benefits when they purchase Audible. They will get two credits instead of the usual one if they sign up during the Audible trial period. As a Prime Member, you have the option to download and own up to two audiobooks of your choice during the trial period.
  • You won’t receive any additional benefits if your trial period expires.

Scribd members enjoy unique perks when compared to Audible. Scribd membership would be a good choice if I could just enjoy the perks.

Scribd memberships let you access classic movies worldwide, watch anime, and read graphic novels.

Scribd provides many other perks, which is why this description is a gross oversimplification. Scribd is the preferred application in this category.

  • Scribd has publishing programs available for independent authors or publishers. You can reach their content acquisition team and publishing service providers and distributors to distribute your books via their platforms. Commissions are earned based on their popularity.
  • You can also freely make your content available to others and upload your research and academic papers.

  • ACX (Audiobook Creation Exchange) is the best way to create a digital audiobook edition using the Audible marketplace.
  • You can select your preferred narrator and the platforms your audiobook will be published.
  • ACX is currently available only to residents of the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.

Publishing an audiobook is a difficult task.

Scribd has a variety of publishing options. Scribd includes journals, audiobooks, and eBooks. Scribd is not like Audible.

Scribd lets you upload and publish files for free with the click of a button. Audible doesn’t have this feature.

Let’s take a look at the differences and similarities between Audible and Scribd based on their performance:

  • Scribd and Audible both make great audiobook platforms. But with Scribd, you can read magazines, eBooks, and music sheets.
  • Audible is a more extensive audiobook than Scribd.
  • These two applications can be accessed on all major platforms and devices.
  •  Audible has different subscription plans, and prices depend on how many audiobooks you have. On the other hand, Scribd has one membership plan that is much cheaper than Audible. It allows its audiobook listeners and readers to access as many eBooks as they like.
  •  Audible members can keep their audiobooks even when their subscription ends. Scribd users, however, must have an active subscription to be able to access any downloaded content.

Q. Is Scribd Better Than Audible?

Unlike Audible, Scribd provides more literary content. AND, from an audiobook database perspective, Scribd wins. Both applications are robust in their own ways, and each customer may decide which application is best for them.

Q. Is Scribd Worth The Money?

Scribd is definitely worth it. Unlimited access to books and audiobooks in different categories and genres is possible. You might not have access to all books, so you may need to wait. The $9.99 per month subscription is a great deal, and you get other perks.

Q. What Is The Best Subscription Service For Audiobooks?

Audible is the better audiobook service compared to Scribd. Audible offers limited audiobook selections per cycle, but it is well worth the investment, considering their title coverage, lifelong ownership rights, and other benefits.

You should choose a subscription plan that meets your audiobook needs, as Audible subscription plans are dependent on how many Audible credits you have. If audiobooks are your primary source of income, then Audible Premium PLUS Annual or Audible Plus Annual – 24 credits is the best subscription option.

Q. How Many Audiobooks Can I Listen To On Scribd?

You can theoretically listen to as many audiobooks as you like. However, the application restricts access to audiobooks if you listen to more than 30 audiobooks in a 30-day period.

Can You Make Money With Both Audible and Scribd?

make money

Yes, You can!

In fact, Audible and Scribd both have an Affiliate Marketing program that pays you a commission for every plan you set up.

There’s a lot that comes along with affiliate marketing that many people struggle with.

In fact, check out these Top 5 Reason Why Affiliate Marketers Fail.

Now, don’t get the wrong idea…

It’s not impossible to make money with affiliate marketing, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to do this business (which, trust us, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money while you’re learning the ropes.

The program that helped skyrocket many online businesses to over $40,000+ per month is so simple that making money really is like riding a bike.

Are there Alternatives To Scribd And Audible

Yes, there are plenty of other business models to choose from if you want to pursue this making money online.  Here are just a few:

What Is My Top Recommendation For Making Money Online In 2022?

Digital Real Estate

Our review team has come across a program in the real estate industry that is next level!

Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.

Yup, Digital Real Estate!

Where Scribd and Audible fall short is in scalability.

You can’t realistically expect to be able to make passive income when you have to read books all day.

But what if you leverage it?

With this digital real estate program, you can have the ability to completely walk away from the laptop because you’re actually taking action!

Sound too good to be true?

Of course it does!

But it isn’t… in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!

All you have to do is build and rank a website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, you could even email it to them!

This works for literally any service based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc.

How do you get paid and how much?

Simple, after you forward the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.

make a deal

A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%…let’s just use the tree service industry for example and go by worst case scenario.

Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 10 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000!

That means at bare minimum you have an asset worth $500 a month!

See why they call it digital real estate now?

That’s a rent payment.

The great thing is how easy it is to scale. You don’t have to answer the phone…all you have to do is get the phone to ring.

Remember Scribd and Audible and all the procrastination?

This one actually allows you to collect that without being on the laptop managing a store all day. Truly passive income!

The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice over when he is sharing his screen.

You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc.

Once the training program is completed you will also have access to a Facebook group much better than the Scribd and Audible group in our opinion. This group is much more active.

Kylie is crushing it

Unlike Scribd and Audible, where you have to reading all day and worry about getting a $5 profit off a $50 product 1,000 times over…. A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name…they see it as it is…expanding digital real estate.

Unlike Scribd and Audible, more people have been able to walk away from their 9-5 job as well.

Digital real estate allows you to have total passive income with most of your day being spent OFF the laptop.

Now, I know you probably have tons of questions… So, check this out to learn more.
