Savings Highway Global Review ([year] Update): Is It A Pyramid Scheme?

Introduction to Savings Highway Global Review

Savings Highway Global (SHG) is a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) program. You may have heard this kinda thing referred to as Network Marketing or Direct Sales, but it's all the same - a nominal product or service is offered, but the real meal ticket is recruiting other sales people to work under you.

The company was founded by a guy named Steven Gresham back in 2006, with the purpose of "helping people save money on the things they buy anyway", according to his LinkedIn page.

It seems like kind of a weird company, in that there are no real products, just vague discounts on products and services. These companies usually think a little outside-the-box to what they're selling, like the Enagic MLM that sells fancy super-water filtration systems for $5,000!

...and you're here because a friend told you about them, or maybe a family member wants you to join, or maybe you just fit the right demographic for some advertisements by Savings Highway Global, and you wanna figure out whether these guys are a scam or not.

Well, lucky for you I've been spending hours pretty much every day digging into a new company to review, no matter what industry - MLM, affiliate marketing, Amazon FBA, you name it! After all this time, it's pretty easy for me to figure out which companies are doing it right, and which ones are doing it wrong. Feel free to check out my top 10 MLM rankings, if you really wanna try out that industry.

But for now, I'm gonna give you the most thorough Savings Highway Global review out there. It seems they hide a lot of information, but I've been able to dig a little and find some costs, other alternative programs, and what it takes to make some big money online these days.

Alright, now let's dive in!

DISCLAIMER:

This Savings Highway Global review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

PROS
  • The company offers savings on "everyday bills", which means that you could save some money if what they say is true.
  • Some MLMs do make money, which means it is technically possible for you to make some as well.
  • The company appears to have a surprising amount of positive BBB reviews, and that means they are either better than I thought, or they're incentivizing their salespeople to leave fake reviews.
CONS
  • SHG is an MLM company, which means you are statistically very unlikely to make much money with them.
  • You're selling a fairly expensive membership that gives people discounts, but that means it will be hard to actually save money when you're paying such high monthly fees
  • Because MLMs have been around for a while now, they've gained a bad reputation - and that means it'll be hard to recruit your friends and family, since they can easily look up the downsides.

Why Listen To Us

My name is Josiah, and this is my Dad, Joel.why listen us

Together, we make up the team here at Scamrisk.

If you’ll let me bother you for two minutes, I’d like to quickly explain why I’m even here writing this review.

In early 2020, I had just graduated from college & had no real career prospects.

I knew I was destined for something more, but I had no clue how I was going to make it happen.

I had this sinking feeling in my gut all the time… like the “big man upstairs” had accidentally given me the version of life where I’d be mediocre forever, instead of the one where I was, ya know – happy & fulfilled.

Anyway…

I had fiddled around with some different online businesses in college:

Some random MLMs, a bit of affiliate marketing, a (failed) dropshipping store or two, all the usual suspects.

Even my dad had been involved in MLMs back in the day… selling knives & other random nonsense people (probably) didn’t need.

All I really wanted was to find something that was going to actually work for me.

Maybe those things had worked for others, but for me it all turned up a fat “0” in the bank account department.

So I searched! And searched… and searched… and searched…

And eventually, I somehow stumbled upon a program that promised to help me build an income online (read about it here if you’re curious).

I didn’t really want to be “rich”.

The thought of making a reliable $5K per month & not having to worry about clocking in to a 9-to-5 ever again was all I needed.

Sure, there were people in the program doing high-6 and low-7 figures per year… but that wasn’t what I was out for.

I just wanted to provide freedom for myself, and if I was lucky, take my family along for the ride.

Fast forward a few days and a few phone calls & I was enrolled!

Here’s the first “money making website” I put up:

why listen us gif

I built that site in 2020, and it still makes me $1,500 per month. It’s a basic 5 page website I built based on a template the program provides.

The best part to me? My dad and I get to do it all together!

So between the:

  1. Ease of reaching $5-$10K per month in income online

  2. Straightforward-ness of the system to do it

  3. Fact that I get to do it w/ my family

Is why I recommend local lead generation as my #1 business model for making money online.

Sure, it takes some work and dedication – but anyone that tells you that there’s a business out there that requires no work is selling you a lemon.

I’m not saying you need to sign up for the same program I did, but I would definitely recommend giving the business model a peek!

TLDR - What's The Verdict On Savings Highway Global?

savings highway global reviews

Savings Highway Global claims to be an "internet marketing system", but really it is a Multi Level Marketing program that sells its members on a monthly fee in order to receive savings and discounts.

They say you'll save on products like books (including eBooks and audiobooks), and services like legal, dental, and restaurants.

These other products and services aren't actually owned by SHG, but they have some kind of deal with them. This allows SHG to not make any promises on how legitimate the savings actually are, because the other businesses are technically responsible.

This is a tricky field to enter since AAA (or CAA, if you're in Canada) and AARP have the discount-membership thing locked down, at much lower monthly costs.

It seems that the big attraction to people joining SHG is the recruiting aspect. You see, when you become a member, you can try to make your money back by messaging your family and friends to join with you - where they'll actually work under you, making you money on anyone they recruit.

So, do I think this is a good use of your time and energy?

I seriously doubt it.

As I mentioned, this is like entering the tissue industry to take on Kleenex, but your boxes will cost people $50 each. Just a really hard sell, to the point that I actually gotta respect anyone who is able to sell people on these memberships - especially in the internet age, where you can look a little deeper to make a decision.

Sure, you might be able to save some money here, but there are reports going around that they don't have as much reach as AAA or AARP, meaning there are less savings available from the start.

You're likely going to face high pressure to keep recruiting people, just like you were recruited into it. The idea is that you will feel stupid if you admit that you got sold into something you didn't understand...and that's when a lot of people just double-down in the other direction, deciding to put even more time and money into it, digging the hole deeper.

Yes, you could make some money with an MLM...but is it worth potentially straining your relationship with loved ones if it all blows up in your faces?

I think something more stable and reliable like Digital Leasing is the right move for those seeking financial freedom.

Instead of having to push something on people that they have no interest in buying, you'll be offering client leads to local businesses - and that's something that will always be in hot demand.

The students seem extremely passionate about what they're doing - not just getting by, but creating their own future.

Digital Leasing Legit

That said, if you'd like to hear some more about our Savings Highway Global review, let's keep on rolling.

Who Benefits From Savings Highway Global...And Who Doesn't?

AreaScoreDescription
Time Investment1/5You're selling $5000 water systems appear to have no scientific basis - it's gonna be a long haul if you wanna make any sells
Level of Control1/5The products can't be changed, neither can the prices or the commission rates - at least not changed by you.
Ease of Implementation1/5MLM is notoriously one of the most difficult industries to crack into online
Profit Potential1/50.35% of Enagic distributors will ever crack the minimum wage line...

SHG might be for you if...

  • You love reaching out to people and getting them to work with you
  • Patience is a virtue for you, and you can wait a while to see any profits
  • You've made money in MLMs (like Home Business Academy) and want some more

But SHG probably isn't for you if...

  • It's difficult for you to push a sale on someone who doesn't want it
  • You or your loved ones have had time and money taken by an MLM before
  • You already are a member with AAA or AARP and understand the similarities

Savings Highway Global At A 1,000 FT View

savings highway global pyramid scheme

Multi Level Marketing has a real bad reputation at this point, and for good reason.

We've all seen them by now - some finance bro trying to sell you life insurance, or a suburban housewife slowly claiming all the other women of the neighborhood as their husbands watch their bank accounts plummet in horror.

It's almost hard to believe that people are still going for this industry when there are so many better money-makers out there, all from the comfort of your home.

I say "almost hard to believe", because it actually makes sense on some level.

It makes sense because life is hard.

The bills are piling up, things are more expensive, and it looks like no one can afford to buy a home anymore...so when a smooth-talking salesman hits you up, it's easy to dream on all that financial freedom you'd have while working from the beach.

The harsh truth is that MLMs will almost never provide that future for you. It's just not a business model that makes sense.

If you're looking for something that could get you to very comfortable income level, while having control of your life and spending time with your family, then lead generation is probably what you're after.

My final recommendation is the best at it in my opinion, offering solid mentorship to make sure you don't have to do it alone.

But speaking of doing it alone, let's get back to Savings Highway Global.

Who Is Steven Gresham?

steven gresham savings highway global

There's not too much info out there on Steven Gresham or his wife, Luz Marina - but what we do know is he's from Georgia (the state, not the country), and he created Savings Highway Global.

Based out of Athens (Georgia, not Greece), Steve claims to have built up decades of experience selling people on the dream of financial freedom within the MLM industry.

Apparently, he was a sales rep at one point, and then realized there's no better place in the MLM hierarchy than at the very top.

How Much Does Savings Highway Global Cost?

how much does Savings Highway Global cost

Savings Highway Global Review Pricing Plans

Here are some of the levels that SHG offers its members, with monthly costs included:

Gold Membership

  • Basic level
  • Least expensive
  • $20 per month

The Gold Level is the most basic and least expensive initial membership on this site. Everyone can afford to invest here for $20 each month.

Platinum Membership

  • Intermediate level
  • Because you spend more, you might be able to unlock more savings
  • $99 per month

Titanium Founder

  • Highest level
  • Apparently you get even more savings by spending the most, and it has a cool name
  • $199 per month

All in all, you could be looking at spending $2,388 per year...so I guess you'd better hope the savings you'll be seeing will add up to more than that, or it's not really worth it.

quora"The owner He has been in trouble with scams before. So don't waste your money with this company."Source
BBB"I have a warning that this company is not all that they claim to be"Source

As you can see, in spite of some evidently fake reviews out there, some people aren't afraid to say how they really feel about SHG.

...but is it really a pyramid scheme?

It's tough to say.

A pyramid is technically supposed to have a product or service, only focusing on recruiting more people under your to pay monthly fees. SHG doesn't sell a product, but they would likely consider their membership a service.

But here's my problem with it: they're going to want you to pay $2,388 every year...just to save money? How many hotels and car rentals will you have to save money on before that makes any sense at all?

AAA's basic membership costs about fifty bucks for your first year, just to compare the two.

Listen, if you're sick of the 9-5 grind, I get it...but this looks like a way to make things even worse, piling up debt and messing up relationships in the process.

You need to find something rock-solid, something real like Digital Leasing, where you'll actually learn useful skill for the money spent - and then you'll be selling things to people that they actually need.

Personal Opinion On Savings Highway Global

Savings Highway Global scam or legit

Whenever I hear people mention MLMs, I get concerned, and immediately try to push them away...

...but what if you're really committed, and really wanna see if it can work for you?

Here are some ways to make sure they're somewhat decent:

  • Make sure there is a real product or service you can actually sell
  • If there's no clear path to making money, don't do it
  • Ensure they have a strong support community

I know I've been steering you away in general, but let's dive in a little deeper on both sides.

Here are 3 things I like about Savings Highway Global:

  1. Savings are nice when you can get them
  2. I've heard of some people making some money with MLMs
  3. The company hasn't been shut down since 2006

...and, on the other hand, 3 things I don't really like:

  1. The vast majority of people never make their money back with MLMs
  2. Hurting your family and friends is a real possibility
  3. AAA sells the same thing for a fraction of SHG's cost

What's Inside Savings Highway Global?

savings highway global compensation plan

Savings Highway Global Compensation Plan

Savings Highway Global loves it when its members recruit more and more people in beneath them, kind of like a pyramid shape.

As long as you have at least one member working under you every month, you'll get a cut of what they're paying - receiving up to 33% of the cash from every "Ultimate Membership".

You can make commissions from every "Family Super Saver", with $35 coming your way up front, then $20 every month after that. There are other rates like $20 upfront and $10 per month afterward that it seems you can slide into within the Savings Highway Global Compensation plan.

It all depends on what SHG sets your rate at, which lowers your level of control.

Oh, and if you still really interested in MLMs, here's a list of my top 5 compensation plans.

Residual Matrix Commissions

No, we're not talking about Neo from The Matrix movie dodging bullets here.

It's a form of payment, commonly found in MLM payment plans, that basically rewards you the bigger and bigger the "downline" under you grows. For example, if one of your recruits goes out and recruits 100 other people, you're gonna see some money from that.

There are apparently 15 levels to this game, so they definitely incentivize going out and signing up everyone you know!

Conclusion: Is Savings Highway Global A Buy?

You might have taken a wild and crazy guess about my feelings on SHG at this point:

I do not recommend joining Savings Highway Global, or any other Multi Level Marketing company for that matter.

Even if they're a good company by MLM standards, it's just basically impossible to make money in that industry.

So where do you go from here?

Well, I see more and more success stories in the world of marketing these days, and it makes sense since companies will always need more customers.

If you can get a solid lead generation business off the ground, there's pretty much nothing that can stop you...although you will need the right mentor and program to make sure you do it right.

There's a ton of upside within the Digital Leasing way of doing things, with a lot of freedom...but one wrong step, and you might have wasted what could have been a good investment.

Personally, I think there is at least one company that stands out in particular, going above and beyond to make sure its students don't miss out on that big stack of cash at the end of the rainbow...

What Is My #1 Way To Make Money Online In 2024?

Digital Leasing

I have spent years researching, reviewing, and vetting dozens of business models and thousands of programs.

While there may be no “perfect business”, the research IS conclusive:

Digital Leasing is the #1 online business model for those just starting out.

Whether you’ve never made a dollar online, or you’ve been in this space for a while but never really “made it,” Digital Leasing is for you.

Why?

1) It’s Flexible: got an hour a day? You can do this. Ready to drop everything else and dive in full time? You can do this. Yes, the more time you put in, the faster you see results. But even with a little time each day, you can move the needle in a Digital Leasing business.

And because this system is so flexible, you don’t have to constantly be working to make more money. It’s called PASSIVE INCOME because if you stop working, the money doesn’t.

Imagine taking 3 months off to just tour around Europe, rent a cabin in the woods to write a book, hike the Appalachian Trail, or live on the beach and surf all day.

This is only possible if you have an income stream that’s not tied to your time.

2) You Own & Control EVERYTHING: With MLMs and Network Marketing, you don’t really own anything. You have no control over the quality of products. You don’t even own your “team”.

Look at the fine print for most of the agreements folks sign when they join one of these companies. At any point, the company can change your commission structure, reduce your profit margins, or kick you out entirely.

With Savings Highway Global, they know the statistics say you're not making your money back - but they let you believe you're in control, telling you what a great CEO you are...

...might as well go play the lottery, at least you'll save some time.

With Digital Leasing, you own the assets, which means you have all the power and all the control.

3) Little To No Startup Costs: It’s possible to get into Digital Leasing with zero dollars upfront. Because, using the strategies outlined in this program, you can get a client to pay you BEFORE spending a penny out of your own pocket...even before you do any work.

Even without getting paid in advance, you can have your first Digital Rental Property up, running, and generating profits for less than $100.

Considering Savings Highway Global will be charging members thousands of dollars per year to have the right to discounts that might not even really exist, it's a tough sell.

4) No Inventory: Alright, so most MLMs don’t make you buy the products and fill your garage with them anymore (unlike the good ol’ days), but you’re still in a physical products business.

And physical products always have physical limitations. Even if you don’t have to manage the inventory, you still have to deal with supply chain shortages that cause major delays.

Imagine finally landing your first customer, and then losing them after one sale because they had to wait 6 weeks to get their order.

With Digital Leasing, a 100% online business, you never even have to think about that risk.

5) Easy To Duplicate: Ok, here’s the best part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up and running, you can literally DOUBLE your income with a few clicks, a couple keystrokes, and a single phone call (and you don’t actually need the phone call).

Remember: each Digital Rental Property is worth $500 to $2,000 a month in semi-passive income (over 95% profit). Every time you decide to create another one and increase your income, it gets easier.

Because you have more knowledge, more experience, more results, and more momentum.

If you wanted to double your income with an MLM, you’d have to double your customers OR double the average order size of your existing customers. And, guaranteed that’s a lot harder than a few clicks and a few minutes of your life.

Especially when you'll be trying to sell your customer on something that doesn't even make sense, at a very high price.

6) Make Money Helping Real People: This part is what makes it all worth it. In an MLM, your “upline” might convince you that what you’re selling improves people’s lives, but deep down, you likely know that’s not true.

Most of the time, you’re either selling a dream or a poor-quality, overpriced product with a fancy label - like expensive discounts, a concept that doesn't even make sense when you say it out loud.

And that makes it pretty hard to sleep at night.

But with Digital Leasing, you’re actually helping people by solving your clients’ biggest problem:

Small, local businesses need more customers, and with Digital Leasing, you are unleashing a flood of happy, paying customers for these businesses.

You make money by helping them make money.

Not a big, faceless corporation either...a small business owner who’s using that money to put food on the table for their family, start a college fund for their kids, or take care of a sick parent.

Once you see how Digital Leasing makes a real impact in the lives of real people, you’ll sleep like a baby with a big smile on your face.

Now, the choice is yours.

You could continue browsing, looking at opportunities like Savings Highway Global which could one day make you money.

You could continue researching, never making a decision.

OR, you could take a look inside, consider what you really want, and join a program that makes your dreams a reality. At the same time, joining a community of over 2,000 successful students that are living life on their own terms thanks to Digital Leasing.

A consistent, reliable, semi-passive stream of income that doesn’t depend on you or your time to keep producing profits.

All while genuinely helping real people who are grateful and happy to pay for it.

If this sounds more like what you want out of life (or if you just want some nice side income), click here to learn more about Digital Leasing.
