Rick Harrison Net Worth

The one thing that’s well-known about ultra high net worth individuals (UHNWs) – the folks worth at least $30 million USD – is that virtually ALL of them have some part of their fortune in real estate.

Many of the more famous rich people and “celebrity entrepreneurs” actually got their start in real estate. And that’s great for them! Not so much for us…

See, more millionaires are created during recessions than any other part of the economic cycle. Which is cool, except the last real recession was 2008, when real estate prices were in the tank and you could buy a whole neighborhood with $100,000.

Now, though, real estate prices are through the roof, and interest rates are skyrocketing too. So how does the everyday person start building a massive net worth in an economy like this one?

Have you considered Digital Real Estate?

The internet’s been around for decades, but the possibility of actually owning high-value pieces of property ON the internet is fairly new.

In other words, it’s a wide open playing field…but it won’t stay that way forever.

Here’s a quick summary of how Digital Real Estate works:

You invest a little money (maybe around $100) to either purchase or build a piece of “land” on the internet.

You specifically place this “land” in a high-traffic area, where lots of people pass through (just like traditional real estate, it’s all about Location, Location, Location).

The folks who pass through your “land” all happen to be looking for a specific product or service, so you “rent” your land to a business owner who happens to offer that product or service.

The business owner pays you $500 to $2,000 a month to “rent” your Digital Real Estate, because it helps them connect with their ideal customers.

Think of it like buying a strip mall, or an office space, just on the internet, for WAAAAYYY less money and headache.

An American reality TV star and company entrepreneur, Rick Harrison, is worth an estimated $9 million. His family operates the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, Nevada. Because of the reality television program “Pawn Stars,” the Harrison family has gained a lot of notoriety in the pawn shop business.

early Life

Richard Benjamin Harrison Jr. and Joanne Harrison had a son named Richard Kevin Harrison on March 22, 1965, in Lexington, North Carolina. There are three children in this family: Richard is the youngest.

He had a sister named Sherry Joanne Harrison, who died at age six, and two brothers called Joseph and Chris. In the past, his father served in the U.S. Navy. Harrison’s father was transferred to San Diego when he was two years old, and the family moved there. Since the age of eight, Richard Harrison has suffered from epileptic seizures.

Harrison developed a lifetime passion for reading due to being confined to his bed so much. To support his “$2,000-a-week business of selling phony Gucci bags,” Harrison attended Taft Middle School in San Diego, but he left out during his sophomore year to focus on that endeavor. In April of 1981, the Harrison family relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Personal Life

Harrison’s girlfriend Kim became pregnant when he was 17 years old. The couple chose to marry despite a miscarriage. Corey, their first child, was born on April 27, 1983, while Adam, their second child, was born two years later. Harrison and Kim divorced soon after Adam was born.

After his divorce, Harrison married Tracy, whom he divorced in 2012. Jake Harrison was the couple’s son.

In 2013, he married Deanna Burditt.

Career

Rick Harrison Career Highlights

Harrison’s father launched his first secondhand shop in Las Vegas in 1981. The first Gold & Silver Coin Shop in Las Vegas was a 300-square-foot hole in the wall. During the day, Harrison worked at his father’s shop. He repoed vehicles late at night for a living. The shop relocated to a new location in downtown Las Vegas in 1986. It was a sad day for the Harrisons when they lost their lease on that location in 1988.

Moving to a new commercial facility on Las Vegas Boulevard, they renamed the shop. Harrison and his father discussed turning the coin business into a pawnshop over many years. It seemed like a logical progression for them. As a result of a 1955 Las Vegas statute that restricted the number of pawn shop licenses that could be issued, it wasn’t easy to get a new license. More than 640,000 people lived in the broader Las Vegas metropolitan region by 1988.

Harrison phoned its statistician weekly to ensure they could apply for one of Las Vegas’s prized pawn licenses as soon as the city’s population reached the next milestone. Due to this event, the Harrisons were awarded their pawn license the next year, in 1989. It was a big deal in Hollywood when Harrison and his father launched their Gold and Silver Pawn Shop on the Las Vegas Strip the same year.

They were lending out about $3 million a year by 2005. This generated interest revenue for the Harrisons of around $700,000. By 2006, the pawn shop had gained a reputation for selling sports memorabilia. When they need to borrow money to purchase petrol to go back home, gamblers may also find a safe refuge here.

After a 2001 PBS documentary and an appearance on the Comedy Central program Insomniac with Dave Attell in 2003, Harrison spent four years promoting the concept of a television show about his pawnshop. The History Channel came calling and turned the idea into the Pawn Stars that we know today as the highest-rated program on the History Channel from HBO and YouTube. For 17 seasons and 577 episodes, Pawn Stars has been on the air since July 2009. The History Channel’s most popular program is Pawn Stars. It’s rare for a reality program to get renewed for over 80 episodes, much alone a television show, but that’s exactly what happened with the show on History.

Today, Rick’s son, Corey Harrison, and boyhood best buddy Austin “Chumlee” Russell work at the business and appear on the program. Known on the agenda as “The Spotter,” Rick is well-known for his ability to spot inexpensive products.
