TLDR – What’s The Verdict On The Productize Course?
The Productize Course is more or less a course that is a self-help class for your personal business.
James Sowers throws a lot of buzzwords out there like “scalable service business” or “compelling value proposition”, but really his productized services just mean you take your business model from an hourly wage to a result-based paycheck.
Because he’s not really teaching you how to work a specific business model, there isn’t really much to criticize from that angle. In fact, I do think it’s a positive that he is willing to work with freelancers from basically any industry and transform the way they operate.
He does say that this course can work for brand-new rookies to the world of making money online, and maybe that’s true, but it seems clear he’s marketing his services toward existing freelancers.
If you’re brand new, you probably want more direct teaching on a specific kind of business model and how to get rolling. Sowers can teach you how to sell your services to clients, but he doesn’t seem to really be able to tell you exactly what kind of business you should run.
That’s fine, but if you are someone who is just looking for a side-hustle or for a full-time plunge into the world of online passive income, then I gotta recommend Digital Leasing. This thing can change your world, offering financial freedom when all you’ve gotta do is bring in customers for local businesses…and the money keeps rollin’ in every month.
The students seem extremely passionate about what they’re doing – not just getting by, but creating their own future.
That said, if you’d like to hear some more about our James Sowers review, let’s keep on rolling.
Who Benefits From James Sowers’ Course…And Who Is It Wrong For?
Area | Score | Description |
---|---|---|
Time Investment | 5/5 | If you can get paid for results instead of time, it’s great for your time (obviously) |
Level of Control | 3/5 | You can control how you market yourself, but your business’s success is still dependent on other factors |
Ease of Implementation | 2/5 | Some clients will only bill per hour due to their systems, meaning you could run into some walls |
Profit Potential | 3/5 | If you can pull this off right, then it’s possible. But Sowers doesn’t really steer you in any direction |
James Sowers makes money from teaching you how to make your own money more efficiently.
While some students might love that he’s accessible for any business owner in any industry, some folks might want stronger guidance than what Sowers’ productized service offers.
All that said, Productize might be for you if…
- You’re doing a good job with freelancing and wanna level up
- You really like Sowers’ free content and wanna check out the Productize course community
- You operate something like a SEO business and wanna figure out how to get “off the clock”
On the other hand, it probably doesn’t make sense to join up if…
- You’re new to making money online and wanna learn a firm business model
- There’s enough free content out there for you without paying extra
- You’d prefer Sowers’ course to have more student reviews before trying
The Productize Course At A 1,000 FT View
Productize is mostly about charging clients for your end result instead of how many hours you work.
This makes a lot of sense if you think about it. Some people can crush quality work out way faster, so it doesn’t make sense that they should be punished when compared to someone who takes twice as long to perform the same task.
Now, some clients may have very rigid structures that demand their freelancers be micromanaged and their work processes heavily “systemized” the way they want to do things. They may instantly turn you away if you try to negotiate a productized sales process for your work.
However, in makes a lot more sense for them to figure out what they need done and by which date – and then negotiate a rate for the freelancer to get the work done by then.
If that time and date are what the company desires, and the freelancer hits it, then it shouldn’t matter if he is able to smash it out overnight and get paid the same as if someone else took a week to get the job done.
If the client feels like they can get more out of the freelancer, then they can ask him to do double the work for twice the pay, or something along those lines.
All in all, it’s a good idea to learn all this stuff, and you can get a free dose of what James Sowers has to offer on his website.
And if you’re brand-new to the world of making money online, then you need to consider which business model you’re gonna get started with altogether. You should really dig into that Digital Leasing world I mentioned earlier.
While Productize points out some interesting things about selling your services, you need an actual business to start with!
This business model helps you stack cash from home while helping local businesses…and you might just have more time for your friends and family.
If it’s financial freedom you’re after, give it a shot!
Who Is James Sowers?
There isn’t much info about James Sowers out there other than some details on his LinkedIn page.
However, he does claim to have worked in the marketing world as a consult for over a decade, which helps. He also appeared to serve in the national guard for a few years, which is nice.
His story with the Productize course is actually kind of a weird one, though.
Pretty much all of these courses are founded by one guru and then that man or woman runs it for its duration…but the Productize course was actually founded by someone named Brian Casel, and then sold after that to another guy named Sam Shepler.
So, this course was actually designed and operated by two separate gurus before James took it over in 2022! Very unusual, but you could look on the bright side and figure that it must be worth something if people keep wanting to buy into it.
How Much Does The Productize Course Cost?
So, how much does the Productize course cost?
Well, I will start off by mentioning just how much I like Sowers’ transparency here. The costs appear to be mostly out in the open, and he also has a bunch of free content so you can figure out if he’s worth your money beforehand.
Here’s a list of some of the costs associated with James’ program:
- The Productize Course: $499
- The course + two hours of coaching: $549
- “Asynchronous” coaching for $150/month
- One-time coaching calls for $200 per session
- Two coaching sessions + Asynchronous coaching for $500/month
Productize’s Refund Policy
Again, transparency is always nice.
As long as you ask within 30 days of your purchase, James Sowers says he will provide you with a full refund of your purchase.
He does ask for your reasoning behind this, but claims that you don’t actually have to answer to get your money back.
Personal Opinion On James Sowers’ Course
James Sowers is a solid marketer and definitely seems to have a ton of knowledge when it comes to this kind of thing. If you check out the website, you’ll see that he writes essays upon essays about the ins and outs of what he has to offer – as well a ton of videos and podcasts on his YouTube channel.
That said, there are a ton of gurus out there who can write or talk about what they do all day – but sometimes they just aren’t the right fit for every student.
So, how can you figure out the right program for you?
- Figure out if you really think your freelancing career needs help
- Listen to gurus talk for a while on their social media and see if you like them
- Ask yourself whether you really need a paid course with all kinds of free info out there
James Sowers seems like a solid coach, all in all.
How about a quick 3 things I like about him:
- James Sowers has been in the marketing game for over a decade
- All the free content should give you enough info about if he’s worth it or not
- The Productize course has a solid refund policy
…and, to be fair, 3 things I don’t really like:
- There isn’t much information on his “private community”
- If you’re just starting out, you probably need more direction
- There aren’t many student reviews out there

“Productize course scam” comes up a lot on Google, probably because people like you are just trying to be safe and see what other students have to say.
So, is James Sowers running a scam?
Very unlikely.
Even though it can be a little concerning that there aren’t many student reviews out there, it is clear that you’ll get at least some value from Sowers’ program if you sign up.
I’m just not sure you will gain much from the course that you won’t get from his hours of free podcasts and pages of articles on his website.
And if you’re a rookie to the world of online business, then you’re gonna need to figure out a business model before digging into all the ways for Sowers to help you level up that business model.
…Digital Leasing provides that financial freedom you’re really looking for, where you can stack some cash and watch it roll in every month! It’s pretty easy to get started, and you’re immediately your own boss – no need to worry about “productizing” anything.
What’s Inside Productize?
The Productize course offers lifetime access to anyone willing to pony up the fees for it. James Sowers fills it with anything from basic info like how to use cookies and data all the way to advanced levels of marketing advice.
Here is the brief summary of the stages that you’ll be taught the info:
- Introduction – this one is pretty obvious.
- Launch – this is a 6 part section that’ll help you figure out who your customers are and how to sell to them.
- Scale – this is Sowers’ specialty, where he helps students expand and create systems for growing their businesses further.
- Grow – this one is kind of redundant in its name (scaling is basically the same thing as growth), but this final chapter is actually about studying and increasing the numbers behind your company.
I’d say that while Sowers has strength when it comes to scaling and growth, he doesn’t really know how to launch a business in every industry. You can only have so many specialties, and it’s pretty clear that there are some serious differences between an affiliate marketer and a fitness coaching business.
Conclusion Of My Productize Review
So, should you hand over your money to James Sowers?
That depends.
If you’ve already got your own freelancing career and wanna get paid more efficiently for your work, you can probably just do that yourself without spending all this time and money on fancy words.
Just being honest.
Now, if you really struggle with self-motivation and need a coach to hold your hand through that process, then sure, check out the Productize program.
But if you’re a rookie who just wants a side hustle, or who needs a mentor to really steer them in the right direction – as in, filling you in on the best business model possible – then you really have to check out Digital Leasing.
Think about it – Sowers treats all business models the same: dropshipping, real estate, affiliate marketing…that just doesn’t make any sense to me. You need some clear and concise direction, and local lead generation can be a killer way to make some passive income.
Who knows, maybe you’ll even work from the beach one day…
What’s My #1 Way To Make Money In 2024?
After exploring various business models, I recommend Digital Leasing for beginners entering the online business world.
- Flexibility: Whether you have just an hour to spare or want to go full-time, Digital Leasing is tailored for “passive income” – more gains with less effort.
- Ownership and Control: Digital Leasing grants you outright ownership of assets, ensuring control and impressive profit margins ranging from 90-95%. With James Sowers’ program, you’re hoping that he suggests the right business model for you, and even then, chances are he’s not really in an expert in anything other than being a consultant.
- Low Startup Costs: You can begin with minimal upfront expenses with Digital Leasing. You might even start earning before spending a dime, and your initial property can go live for less than $100.
- Minimal Ongoing Expenses: Digital Leasing keeps it straightforward with minimal maintenance and expenses. On the other hand, Sowers will set you back a ton of money every month if you take advantage of the best part of his program, the coaching. It’s hard to make profits if your expenses are sky-high!
- Easy to Duplicate: Once your first digital property is up and running, doubling your income becomes a breeze – just a few clicks, keystrokes, and maybe a call away. If you wanted to double up your income with Productize, it’ll take way more work while being coached by a guy who doesn’t even work in your industry.
- Helping Real People: Digital Leasing extends beyond numbers, allowing you to support local businesses and make money while genuinely impacting people’s lives.
The choice is yours. Keep exploring options like Productize, keep researching, or join a community of over 2,000 successful students living life on their terms with Digital Leasing.
Experience a steady, semi-passive income stream that doesn’t demand constant attention.
Your success goes beyond numbers – it’s about assisting real people who appreciate and happily pay for your services.
