Pete Buttigieg Net Worth Update

But how did he make his money?

The one thing that’s well-known about ultra high net worth individuals (UHNWs) – the folks worth at least $30 million USD – is that virtually ALL of them have some part of their fortune in real estate. Many of the more famous rich people and “celebrity entrepreneurs” actually got their start in real estate. And that’s great for them! Not so much for us…

See, more millionaires are created during recessions than any other part of the economic cycle. Which is cool, except the last real recession was 2008, when real estate prices were in the tank and you could buy a whole neighborhood with $100,000.

Now, though, real estate prices are through the roof, and interest rates are skyrocketing too. So how does the everyday person start building a massive net worth in an economy like this one?

Have you considered Digital Real Estate?

The internet’s been around for decades, but the possibility of actually owning high-value pieces of property ON the internet is fairly new. In other words, it’s a wide open playing field…but it won’t stay that way forever. Here’s a quick summary of how Digital Real Estate works: You invest a little money (maybe around $100) to either purchase or build a piece of “land” on the internet.

You specifically place this “land” in a high-traffic area, where lots of people pass through (just like traditional real estate, it’s all about Location, Location, Location). The folks who pass through your “land” all happen to be looking for a specific product or service, so you “rent” your land to a business owner who happens to offer that product or service.

The business owner pays you $500 to $2,000 a month to “rent” your Digital Real Estate, because it helps them connect with their ideal customers. Think of it like buying a strip mall, or an office space, just on the internet, for WAAAAYYY less money and headache.

As mayor from 2012 to 2020, Pete Buttigieg served as Secretary of Transportation. Buttigieg has previously worked on the campaigns of a number of Democratic hopefuls, including Joe Donnelly, Jill Long Thompson, and even John Kerry at one point in his career.

In recent years, he’s been known as one of the Democratic Party’s presidential hopefuls for 2020. His presidential aspirations were put on hold on March 1, 2020, with him subsequently backing Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination.

Pete Buttigieg served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve from 2009 until 2017. Buttigieg’s deployment to Afghanistan in 2014, which lasted seven months, was a turning point in his career as an intelligence officer.

He is the first out openly gay cabinet member in American midwest and the first openly gay person to successfully run for president in a major party. During his time as mayor, he came out as gay in the South Bend Tribune. He is also the youngest secretary of transportation in history, according to his age at the time of his appointment.

early Life

This is the sole child of Jennifer Anne (Montgomery) and Joseph A. Buttigieg; Pete was born in South Bend, Indiana on the 19th of January 1982. Anne Montgomery is the name his mother prefers to go by. He grew up in a middle class neighborhood.

His parents met and were married at New Mexico State University, where they worked as faculty members, reason why they have middle class lifestyle. To pursue his degree, his father immigrated from Malta to the United States.

At the University of Notre Dame, not far from South Bend, Buttigieg’s father began his academic career as an English professor. For 29 years, Buttigieg’s mother also taught at Notre Dame. Antonio Gramsci’s Prison Notebooks, a three-volume English translation and editing of Gramsci’s Prison Notebooks by his father, inspired him to study literature in college.

Graduated in St. Joseph High School in South Bend, Indiana, as valedictorian of his class of 2000. Buttigieg won first prize in the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum’s Profiles in Courage essay contest that year.

It was a joyous occasion for him to meet Caroline Kennedy and other members of the Kennedy family in Boston, where he accepted the medal. An award-winning essay by a high school student focused on then-Vt. Rep. Bernie Sanders, one of only two independents in Congress.

Also in 2000, Buttigieg was one of two student delegates selected from Indiana for a joint scholarship competition sponsored by the United States Senate and Hearst Foundations, an annual scholarship competition.

St. Joseph High School alum Buttigieg went on to study history and literature at Harvard University. He was elected president of the Harvard Institute of Politics’ Student Advisory Committee and contributed to the institute’s yearly assessment of young people’s political beliefs.

While studying for his undergraduate degree, he researched the impact of Puritanism on U.S. foreign policy as shown in Graham Greene’s novel The Quiet American and wrote his thesis on the subject. Phi Beta Kappa elected him an honorary member of their fraternity.

Buttigieg received a Rhodes Scholarship and will be attending Oxford University this fall as a Rhodes Scholar. For his work at Oxford, he had been an editor of the Oxford International Review, a group of around a dozen students who met for casual debate and discussion.

Career

Pete Buttigieg served as an investigative intern at Chicago’s NBC station, WMAQ-TV, while he was still a student. In 2002, he also served as an intern for Democratic Congresswoman Jill Long Thompson.

Buttigieg served for John Kerry’s presidential campaign in 2004 after graduating from Harvard University. One of his most notable roles was in the failed 2006 congressional campaign of Joe Donnelly.

McKinsey & Company hired Buttigieg as a Chicago-based consultant in 2007. For the following three years, he was employed by the corporation and contributed his knowledge in areas such as energy, retail, and logistics.

Pete Buttigieg enlisted in the Navy Reserve in September 2009 as an intelligence officer. Earlier this year, he announced his intention to leave the Navy Reserves. When Buttigieg ran for State Treasurer of Indiana with the Democratic Party in 2010, he lost. Richard Mourdock, a Democrat, was re-elected to the House of Representatives.

In November 2011, Buttigieg was the elected mayor of South Bend, Indiana, his second major political post. In January 2012, he was sworn in as the 32nd mayor of South Bend. He was mayor of South Bend for two terms until stepping down in 2020. Earlier this year, Pete Buttigieg stated that he will run for President of the United States in the 2020 election.

However, on March 1, 2020, Buttigieg announced that he would resign from the contest and backed Joe Biden’s candidacy. On December 15, 2020, Buttigieg was nominated to be the next Secretary of Transportation and confirmed on February 2, 2021.

Besides all of those, Shortest Way Home was the book in 2019 that Buttigieg wrote. Whenever there is an event for his political career where Buttigieg speaks, a lot of people admire him.
