Is Pampered Chef An MLM Company?

Yes, it is a confirmed mlm company and markets as such.

Oh come on, we all remember this one! If you’re as old as I am, you probably remember your mom and her friends throwing pampered chef parties all the time as a kid.

I remember my mom always rushing around cooking, trying to prep the house, and her products for the party so she could try and earn more money.

Even though the pampered chef MLM has been out for a while now, it still somehow tends to draw middle aged women in and promise a possible extravagant lifestyle.

One thing that got our attention enough to review it was actually Warren Buffet’s and the Berkshire Hathaway corporation involvement with the mlm company.

That should give you at least one reason to raise an eyebrow.

This will be a full in-depth review of the pampered chef opportunity with no bias.

We are not affiliated with Pampered Chef in any way. All we wish to accomplish in this review is to help you make an informed decision based on the facts if you want to join pampered chef.

Enjoy!

What Is Pampered Chef?

Pampered Chef is an mlm (multi level marketing) company founded by Doris Christopher. It began taking the markets by storm in 90’s and has continued to grow to this day.

It’s not all that shocking that it has been financially successful either…Doris Christopher has a professional background in economics and money.

The company focuses on selling kitchen products directly through friends and families at their network marketing get togethers coined “pampered chef parties” or in text language “pc party”.

Some of these products are neat, other products are mediocre, and some products you can find for cheap at wal-mart on the clearance rack.

How Does Pampered Chef Work?

Pampered Chef makes a lot of it’s money through its consultants selling their kitchen products directly to their friends and families. It also makes the occasional dollar off guest spots on TV shows.

During a Pampered Chef party or TV appearance, their plan is to demonstrate the pampered chef products usefulness in every day life. Some products are life changing…other products not really.

It is cool to see how a product works though when there is a team of people on TV cooking and demonstrating the product and its functionality.

At these events you will likely be given some form of a Pampered Chef Catalog where you can buy some of these products.

Another way Pampered Chef consultants make money is by starting up an affiliate styled website where they get commissions based of the sales. People have had success with amazon as well.

Lastly…and this is where the multi level marketing comes into play…consultants can recruit new consultants to work under them and help them earn even more based of the sales they make.

Honestly, that part isn’t fun and it’s one of the reasons why the mlm company gets such a bad wrap.

Pampered Chef Products

One thing we can say positively about the Pampered Chef mlm is that they offer a wide range of products!

We’re talking kitchen products, tools, food products, Pampered Chef cookbooks, and more!

One of the types of products that Pampered Chef focuses on is multi-use utensils. They appeal to someones desire for an all in one kitchen tool.

They stand behind all their products as well offering a full 1 year warranty on all of them!

Some of the most popular products Pampered Chef offers are as follows:

Stoneware Bakeware

  • Teak Wooden Spoon
  • Cut-N-Seal Maker Tart
  • Pizza and Crust Cutter
  • Mini Tart Shaper
  • beer bread mix
  • gardening tools
  • kitchen tools
  • food products

Even though the menu Pampered Chef offers for their products is certainly thorough…it’s exhaustive. On top of that some of the prices for these kitchen products are just unreasonable in our opinion.

However every single catalog / menu Pampered Chef offers for their products contains as much information as you need to know to make a well informed purchase.

How To Join Pampered Chef

If you want to become a team member and join Pampered Chef, you’re in luck because they make it super easy! All you need to do is simply go to their website, fill in your information, and wait for a sponsor or person who told you about it to reach out to you.

To complete your registration as a Pampered Chef consultant, you will need to sign a consultant agreement form and buy a Pampered Chef consultant kit.

How Much Does It Cost To Join Pampered Chef?

Some of the different Pampered Chef consultant kits are listed below:

Starter kit: This kit costs $99 and comes with over $400 worth of products. The starter kit is great for those who want to test the product line for themselves.

Deluxe kit: This kit costs $159 and comes with $700 worth of products. The deluxe kit is great for those who want to make money faster than those with the starter kit since you can sell more products.

Ultimate kit: This kit costs $259 and comes with $1000 worth of products. The ultimate kit is great for those who go at a business opportunity with 100% effort all the time.

These kits are business tools that should help you make more money by giving you access to product.

Is Pampered Chef Overpriced?

In our opinion it is difficult to see how a multitude of products purchased for just $259 can be flipped upwards of $1000.

For that reason alone it is hard to see how a regular person would be able to make money with Pampered Chef on a regular basis without some high level sales training.

Although we may think the products themselves are overpriced, the price to enter the berkshire hathaway company affiliate team is reasonable in our opinion.

After all, you can’t just expect to not pay anything for the products they give you to sell.

How Much Does A Pampered Chef Consultant Make?

Pampered Chef pays it consultants based on different sales levels. Below is a complete breakdown of their compensation plan, please review it:

  • 20% commission rate for $1 to $749 monthly sales.
  • 22% commission rate for $750 to $1249 monthly sales.
  • 23% commission rate for $1250 to $2449 monthly sales.
  • 24% commission rate for $2500 to $3999 monthly sales.
  • 25% commission rate for over $4000 monthly sales.

When it comes to any other network marketing mlm company, Pampered Chef offers a pretty solid compensation plan that will hold its own compared to a compensation plan from any other network marketing company.

Is The Pampered Chef MLM A Pyramid Scheme

By definition, no, Pampered Chef is not a pyramid scheme. There are real products that bought and sold by friends and family.

If you treat Pampered Chef company like a real business opportunity, then you can make money legally without worrying about getting caught up in a pyramid scheme.

Now more than ever companies that are under the mlm classification have to follow strict guidelines that clearly prove their business is not a pyramid scheme.

A business that is found to be a pyramid scheme will often face large legal problems that nobody should ever want to deal with.

Even though your friend may think that the Pampered Chef mlm is a pyramid scheme, your friend would be wrong because everyone at every level of the company can make money whereas with a true pyramid scheme, only those at the top make money while the rest lose it.

Pyramid schemes suck and if we could say that Pampered Chef is pyramid scheme, then over here at Scam Risk we wouldn’t think twice about it.

Why Pampered Chef Looks Like A Scam

When most people get started with Pampered Chef company, they mainly get started so they can receive cookware and a multitude of other product at a lower amount of money than a regular customer.

When this happens and you talk to another person who’s also a “Pampered Chef Distributor” about it, you’ll both find that you probably haven’t made a lot of money. Usually because of both of you lacking sales skills.

The Pampered Chef compensation plan may look enticing, but you only get the most out of the Pampered Chef compensation plan if you have a good sales process.

Just like any other mlm and network marketing company most of the people will be left with only family members and friends to sell to. If anything you might get enough sales to break even.

Although the business model and company can look like a scam, it’s just as simple people not understanding everything about the business model and how to make it popular.

There are some very higher earners among consultants and they will tell you from personal experience that it is not a scam and anyone can make money from the company if you have a good sales process and can communicate well with people.

Lastly, the commission rate is about on par with all the other network marketing programs, this helps with legitimacy of the company.

Why People Aren't Fans Of Pampered Chef

No different from any other mlm company, the training you will receive will be in essence a sales pitch that you are supposed to go to friends and family members with.

No one is a fan of company business models that require you to push a product down the throat of your family, community, and old lady down the street.

In fact, if you were to look at Pampered Chef mlm review online from actual consultants, you’ll find a lot who can’t make a full time income out of it and are unhappy.

If a company consultant who buys a consultant kit, and is arguably the first true customer, is unhappy, what do you think will be the opinion of most people about the company?

Sure throwing an occasional part is nice…but not all the time. Parties can actually become quite expensive if no one buys.

You can have the coolest kitchen gadgets, but at the end of the day, you can’t just give away kitchen tools for free to anyone who stops by the parties.

Unfortunately, Pampered Chef has a lot of complaints for them listed in the Better Business Bureau even thought they have an A+ rating.

Another reason why people don’t like this type of business model and company is because of how much these products show up on amazon for much cheaper! Why would someone go to a Pampered Chef party when they can just click a social media ad that takes them to amazon and offers the pizza stone at the consultant rate?

Anyone would have to be crazy to spend more money at a party on products they could get for super cheap on amazon.

This concludes our Pampered Chef mlm review…

The Business Model We Recommend Instead Of Pampered Chef... And It's Not Another MLM

Digital Real Estate:

This is a business model where you can set passive income assets that make real estate levels of rent each month without nearly all the headache.

But why is this recommended over Pampered chef in our Pampered Chef mlm review?

It’s quite simple actually…this is a model that everyone can have massive success at!

Here Are Just A Couple Reasons Why It's Better Than The Pampered Chef MLM Business:

  • You do not have to worry about sales parties during covid
  • You do not find a way to replace parties during covid for earning money
  • You do not have to worry about cooking
  • You do not have to worry about marketing emails for your company
  • You do not have to sell kitchen tools at a steep price
  • You do not have to be associated with berkshire hathaway

What Can You Do Easily With Digital Real Estate That You Can't Do Easily With Pampered Chef?

  • You get to help small businesses by giving them a better opportunity to land jobs
  • You can easily earn full time money from home without having to sell marked up prices
  • You can easily throw a party without having to sell a product
  • Most people can build and rank a website
  • You can easily out earn any other mlm companies.

So What Is Digital Real Estate?

We are of course talking about local lead generation. It goes like this:

First you pick a city and niche and build a website.

But what kind of city…what kind of niche?

You want to build a website in a city with a decent sized population (50k+) with a fairly popular service in the area. Tree service would almost always work!

Next comes the money right? How does building and ranking a website for tree service translate into money?

Once your site is ranked at the top of google in your local area of choice, you will start receiving calls for people asking you to remove their trees.

Shocker right? We know.

These calls are called leads and they are extremely valuable. They’re like gold nuggets.

But at the end of the day, they are products…your products that you own and acquired for free with just some basic SEO.

From here you are going to want to find a business owner in town to send your products to. Most business owners can’t get enough of leads and will have no problem taking the leads / products you offer.

How Much Should I Charge For My Digital Real Estate Products?

A tree service lead is worth anywhere from $50-$200 or 10% depending on the size of the job. That means if you have a website that gets just 10 calls a month…then you are adding $5,000-$20,000 to a bottom line for a business!

You yourself would be pocketing $500-$2,000 a month without having to lift a single finger, let the business owner take care of everything tree related.

The best part about the digital real estate business is that once you rank a site…you don’t have to touch it! These digital assets require way less maintenance than the physical ones!

But what if a business doesn’t want to pay for my products my digital real estate produces?

We have lot’s of ideas for that one, but the easiest way to get them to buy from you…is to send them some free products.

Yep! Send them some free leads! A tree service company will get hit up by marketers all the time promising the world when in reality those guys don’t fulfill.

What business owner would turn down free products / leads?

Offering the tree service company your free products will mean the world to them and build trust.

How Much Money Can I Make From Digital Real Estate?

Unlike Pampered Chef where it will become hard to sell so much over time…digital real estate is literally infinitely scalable in comparison.

It takes maybe a day to put up one of these lead generation websites and only a couple months of solid backlinking to rank number 1 with leads in the door.

Let’s use that tree service example from earlier…if you had just 10 of these sites, you could be earning $5,000 to $20,000 a month!

We’re no geniuses but we’d be willing to bet that’s more than your 9-5, and a great way to more money in general at that.

Where Can I Learn Digital Real Estate?

There is a training course we recommend and have fully vetted personally to make sure it isn’t a scam. In fact, we’ve given it a 10/10 review because all kind of people have had success with this opportunity.

This training course and group will walk you through exactly how to build a digital real estate property and how to perform proper SEO so you can start generating some leads / products.

On top of that, you will get access to a Facebook group that can help you along the way if you get stuck. The people in that group are great company to have around and always willing to help! It’s like having an expert team in your back pocket!

MLM companies hate this training course because it actually teaches people how to make full time income from home without throwing a party!

But with the money you earn from taking this course, you can probably throw a party every night!

MLM companies like Pampered Chef just can’t compete with this opportunity.

You don’t have to worry about selling business tools, pc products, or any other mlm related products…all you have to do is focus on building an asset that produces a product all business owners need…

Leads.

Perhaps the best part of this course is that you can learn to build a product with your pc from home that will actually be of benefit to people other than yourself!
