Are you someone who loves reading books? Do you feel like you want to advance your knowledge on something, whether for school or work or business or even for personal development?
Or maybe you’re someone who’s looking for a convenient way to get access to books and information and add them to your “to-read list” but don’t know how?
You landed on the right page! We are here to give a review of one of today’s most popular apps, MentorBox!
While the MentorBox app can be a trove of treasures for book lovers and savvy readers like you, it may not be for some.
We’d like to share this Mentorbox review to help you find out if it’s worth your money and time.
We’re going to review multiple aspects of Mentorbox to decide if it really is the best business mentorship out there.
We’ll talk about whether these books help pick the right online business for you.
At the end, we’ll answer some of the most frequently asked questions regarding Mentorbox and mentorship in general.
And most important, we’ll show you the exact system we used to build our own internet marketing business to over $40,000 a month in mostly passive income.
This system made us swear off other mentorships for good, because it uses some of the same skills in a much more powerful and profitable way!
Gaining knowledge through reading is such an integral part of education, whether it’s formal or otherwise.
Knowledge is power as they say. But in today’s fast paced world, not everyone has the luxury of time to sit on a couch and leisurely read and finish an entire book.
Or some just simply have a harder time than others to read a book, let alone finish one.
Traditionally, you can read physical books to gain knowledge and understanding. If only everyone would just read them, then they could discover life-changing insights that experts are so willing to share.
This is where MentorBox comes into play.
They designed the MentorBox app as a solution for busy individuals, readers and non-readers alike, to save time from reading but at the same time, allowing them to pick up the very essence of the books. This also addresses some of the users’ unwillingness to spend time reading one.
Created by online sensations, Alex Mehr and Tai Lopez, MentorBox is an online school of courses where you get access, as well as, countless students and professionals all across the globe, to thousands of books that can help bring your knowledge and expertise to the next level.
The MentorBox application is a great tool to master your skill in business and in frankly anything you want to venture into – a hobby, a school project, DIY home improvement ideas, and so forth.
Once enrolled in a MentorBox account, you can easily and conveniently enjoy an online library of books and learning materials supported by book summaries, lectures, interviews, and professional advice by renowned authors and CEOs.
It has a wide selection of topics, both on traditional and non-traditional learning. You can find practically any topic related to leadership, money, or business development.
What’s more, it comes with supporting videos alongside the study materials – pretty much the kind that “non-readers” who are more of visual learners would get interested in.
One of a kind, right?
There is also a large list of authors where you can choose your mentor for the live sessions and online courses. What’s more, it has a MentorBox mastermind group on Facebook that lets you have access to its creators, Alex and Tai!
All these books in MentorBox can be great tools for self-improvement. The books are not limited to the business niche but are also available on topics like psychology and personal development, to name a few.
Helpful reviews on the product are available and these can pretty much help you decide on the subscription plans and check if they are worth your money.
For the monthly subscription price of only $7 which you can find on their sales page, the subscription plan comes with a 3 day trial . It has also a yearly subscription plan at $59.
As per the physical subscription plan valued at $89 per month, this physical box includes up to three books and USB flash drive cards containing videos, lessons, and book summaries. The books come with worksheets, cheat-sheets, and a study guide.
The physical box may also include a few small office accessories or trinkets like a magnet or a bookmark.
MentorBox differs a great deal from Blinklist or Audiobooks. MentorBox offers a mix of books to read and materials in audio format to listen to, together with worksheets.
Blinklist, on the other hand, gives you book summaries while in Audiobooks, they provide materials that are more in an audio format.
You won’t have to skip any info in a book when you use MentorBox because you can read the whole thing!
You can try MentorBox by downloading their free trial pack which includes three applications: video workshops, audiobook lessons and nuggets, and cheat sheet and memorization booklet.
Besides Blinklist and Audiobooks, there are a few others that can serve as alternatives.
MentorBox was created and developed by two investors and entrepreneurs, Alex Mehr and Tai Lopez. Their idea for MentorBox is to provide book lovers an online platform where they can access loads of books anytime, anywhere.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Tai Lopez is an outstanding entrepreneur, financial advisor, and investor. But he is more commonly recognized for running his podcast, “The Grand Theory of Everything,” as well as his incredible social following.
In addition, he owns the largest book club that has over 14 million users, and created the mentorship program called, “The 67 Steps.”
Lopez grew up in Los Angeles and was raised by his mom and grandma. At only 6 years old, he began taking interest in business and started selling all kinds of products and goodies.
Based on other interviews, Tai was heavily influenced by his scientist granddad and was responsible for instilling his love for reading. Tai and Alex share the same passion and are both book lovers.
He was also an engineering student drop-out before he became big.
Tai Lopez has a staggering net worth of more than $360 million which he accumulated throughout his 20-year career.
Yes, that’s how rich he is!
To help you all visualize, that’s a $44 million-mansion situated in Hollywood Hills, a Rolls Royce, a Lamborghini, and a Ferrari, to name a few from his car collection.
There is no stopping Tai Lopez and surely, his net worth will continue to increase as his business ventures get bigger too!
At the moment, Lopez has no wife and is totally single. He is dating a Los Angeles-based model, Kenna Alastair since three years ago.
When he isn’t working, he plays basketball and works his muscles out with mixed martial arts (MMA), and is a collector of sneakers.
He currently resides in Hollywood Hills.
Alex Mehr is an outstanding online entrepreneur and investor who has successfully put up more than 30 companies and products and generated a revenue of more than $1 billion.
He is the co-founder and currently the CEO of MentorBox. Mehr credits its success to numerous entrepreneurs, CEOs, and authors he considers as mentors.
He realized later in life that the existing education system needs a lot of improvements and decided to make a positive contribution.
He, together with another like-minded entrepreneur, Tai Lopez, then created what would become one of today’s popular educational platforms for thousands of users worldwide. They share the same passion for books, knowledge, and information.
After graduating in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Alex Mehr pursued his Ph.D and M.Sc from the University of Maryland.
He enrolled at the Haas School of business in 2006 but after just two years, he dropped out to focus on another business venture called Zoosk.
MentorBox ads are everywhere!
They are all over the internet and in social media platforms. And because these ads won’t leave you, you will soon find yourself getting a subscription or a free trial.
For 3 days of free subscription service, you can use the trial pack to test if this is something that works for you.
After the free trial, you will be charged 7 a month automatically for the next month onwards.
There are two subscription plans available: one is the monthly subscription valued at 7 per month and the other is the yearly subscription at $59.
Both will give you access to various online programs and a physical subscription.
If you wish to read physical books instead, you have the option to subscribe for the physical box for $89 every month.
MentorBox is for both!
It appeals to readers and non-readers alike.
If you are the type who enjoys reading but who doesn’t have the time to finish an entire book, this product is definitely for you.
MentorBox allows you to mark and highlight essential parts of the book, and at the same time, take notes. In this way, you are able to pick up what it’s all about without reading its entirety.
Their user interface also allows you to create your reading lists and add books to them which you can later on access.
But what about those who totally hate reading?
This product offers a study material that allows those who have a hard time completing a book and maintaining study guides and notes, to gain information and knowledge without having to read the whole thing.
Thankfully, cheat sheets are all provided along with the gists of the books. And on top of these, engaging videos come with the study materials which gives the product more edge than its competitors.
This video feature of MentorBox is drawing a lot of attention from visual learners especially the younger audience because this product has made reading a little less boring for them.
The mentors in MentorBox are a mix and variety of C-level executives and seasoned authors. They are in partnership with MentorBox. As mentors, they give out expert advice and facilitate online courses.
These experts do all the teaching and mentoring online.
Yes, MentorBox offers a free 3 day trial service. You will need to subscribe in their website and choose from two subscription service options: the monthly subscription plan or the yearly subscription plan, depending on your preference.
It does. You can go and check their website, www.mentorbox.com.
You will see an introductory vid, giving you a brief of what MentorBox is all about. The free trial subscription can also be accessed through this website.
You will find there some reviews that you can browse through and consider before subscribing.
Essentially, you will get the necessary info you need to learn about the product and ultimately help you choose the subscription plan that fits you.
Just to be on the safe side, best to try their trial pack valid for three days. This will give you a hands-on experience of the app – from its user interface to the book selection quality to customer service.
Just a wee bit of warning: their sales page will give you loads of discounted subscription plans and upsells which you might find a lil annoying and pushy.
We suggest you stick with the trial pack first and decide later for those.
Yes, you can.
The MentorBox app is designed to work on other devices besides your laptop such as your mobile phones and tablets.
That’s good news for commuters and those who’d like to squeeze in some reading during their office or school break times, or even in between household chores.
Suppose you don’t find MentorBox useful or any good. You can refund your money by way of their 30-day money back guarantee.
You can request for a cancellation and within hours, your request will be processed.
But be warned, the whole refunding process may take a while. Some would claim that it takes so long that by the time you get a response from cancelling your trial version, you’d already be billed for the paid version.
MentorBox has both positive and negative feedbacks from users. we have itemized here the top feedbacks customers are saying about this product.
Besides it regular subscriptions plans, MentorBox provides several other products. Let’s take a closer look with its three upsells: AudioBook Nuggets, Entrepreneur Academy, and Money and Investment Club.
MentorBox’s first upsell includes “audiobook nuggets” that would give you audiobook summaries and gists, highlighting the most essential and critical points
An audio upsell is pretty common with any book, but to be charged at $89 for it seems a bit too much.
It is quite surprising for Tai and Alex to overcharge for such common practice. We would have been more accepting if you’d get some sort of special add-ons like perhaps an exclusive access to some learning materials, programs, or even to online mentors.
But instead, you get something that’s supposed to be a basic subscription feature.
This proves to be an even more puzzling item. Why charge audio recordings for $89 and just $20 for a seemingly exclusive and elite-sounding product?
We mean with a title like that, we would have expected it to start from a much higher price point.
On top of it, its sales video would leave you confused, simply because you don’t exactly know what is being offered.
But what it does mention are big claims and promises such as “This is our most advanced training” and “This is going to change your life.” Simply put, it failed to deliver a coherent pitch.
Considering the successful backgrounds of its creators, it would be just right to expect something “more” from them like maybe a strong and weighty sales video or convincing copywriting.
Instead, you get an incoherent pitch from a 60-second sales vid…
Even the guy in the video sounded like he wasn’t entirely sure of what he was pitching for.
It looks to us that it is just a regular bundle of learning video materials presented and packaged as the “Entrepreneur Academy.”
Nothing special nor added value offered.
Money and Investment Club
Lastly, the third upsell you’d be offered is the “Money and Investment Club.”
Similarly, the Money and Investment upsell failed to deliver a coherent pitch. In other words, you’d be left wondering what it is that they’re actually selling.
You will be thrown big and vague promises about how they want to start a movement and how this could potentially change your life.
In the end, we had pretty much low expectations of this Money and Investment Club program.
Yeah, that sounds like a dick thing to say, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to learn about money and investing (which, trust us, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.
The program that helped skyrocket our online business to $40,000+ per month teaches some of the affiliate marketing skills, but shows you how to monetize them in a much, MUCH more profitable way.
Placing the cancellation request is easy breezy.
But not the rest of it until you get your refund is quite the opposite.
After the subscription cancellation request, the customer service team will then process it and refund your money, but this may take several days.
This is one of the downsides of MentorBox. You will most likely encounter customer service issues when it comes to cancelling your subscription.
You may drop them your questions or any other issues at support MentorBox com.
Though you may find in their sales page a lot of good reasons why you should have a MentorBox account, customer service isn’t one of them.
Yes, they have a customer support department in place where you can drop any of your queries, complaints, requests, or any other app-related concerns, including a Facebook page.
But the problem is they have a very slow response time to any of these which did not appeal much to both existing and former subscribers.
True that they offer 24/ 7 customer service support (in their sales pages), but the reality is, it takes forever before they respond or offer any solution.
Not at all!
MentorBox is not a scam. But the way it’s presented definitely looks like it.
Based on the reviews we have read, the product has received a lot of customer complaints because of either poor refund policy or overcharges including the automatic charge on your credit card without prior notification upon renewal of subscription.
Once you have your MentorBox account, you’d realize right away that you cannot access all of the online courses.
Kinda shady, right?
It looks like MentorBox is designed not to educate nor teach nor share knowledge and information, but to serve as a channel to sell more and more products.
Its sales funnel is more of a “But wait, there’s more” technique which is kinda sneaky and annoying based on customer reviews.
Does that answer your question?
It is entirely possible to build a profitable, successful online business however.
It’s a big No.
Yes, the MentorBox physical box subscription is going to be a waste of your money.
The physical box contains two or three books alongside a USB drive full of materials that you may already have including video lessons and study guides and cheat sheets.
For $89/ per month, you essentially get up to three books with extra little goodies that are really not worth the amount.
Quite unreasonably and outrageously priced is what I’d say.
No, you don’t get to do it.
The books in the box are picked based on MentorBox’s system of selection and relevance – generally a mix of various topics on business and personal development.
You get a random selection of books and free trinkets. You basically can’t choose what books to get.
But if you like MentorBox, we suggest you get their monthly subscription at $7 and access your preferred book and information online instead.
Mentorbox is an online learning platform created by Tai Lopez and Alex Mehr with a monthly subscription where you can access thousands of books supported by study guides, summaries, and cheat sheets.
With its free trial subscription, you can easily weigh if the app is for you. Also for the online subscription price of $7 every month, MentorBox is worth the try. But with the upsells that come with it, we’d say it isn’t.
MentorBox is not a scam but the way it’s packaged and the way they designed its sales funnel, it seems like it could be one.
Initial monthly price point is at $7 and $59 for a yearly plan. The physical subscription is valued at $89 monthly.
We recommened AudioBooks, Blinklist, Amazon Audible, Power Moves, and ReadinGraphics as the best alternatives to MentorBox.
To request a refund, you will have to got to their website and drop them a message there. Though they offer 100% refund, the whole process may take a long time which is common with MentorBox customer service.
Tai Lopez and Alex did a wonderful job in creating this unique online platform for readers and non-readers alike.
Though they have yet to improve their customer support service, MentorBox offers more advantages which make it suitable for all, even for those who are not that into books.
The 7 per month subscription is a good entry level pricing that comes with study materials, book summaries, and related books, but is not so cheap if you want to up the ante with their online mentorship.
This online mentorship includes live sessions and lessons with the mentor of your choice and would require you to personally hire one which is rather expensive.
This MentorBox review has essentially covered all information you need to know about the app including its pros and cons. With its two subscription options, you can choose between a monthly subscription or a yearly plan.
If you feel like reading physical books, MentorBox also has the option for a physical subscription. You’d get extra goodies like bookmarks, magnets, and other accessories along with it.
But for the outrageous price of $89 per month, it’s better to opt for the online subscription instead at only $7 monthly.
The 3 day free trial lets you gauge if you’re happy with the app’s features and interface. If you want to cancel your product subscription, you can do so anytime with their money-back guarantee and cancellation policy.
But be warned that their refunding process is quite slow and Mentor Box customer service is yet to improved based on existing customer feedback.
Remember too that its upsells can be quite annoying and aggressive.
Makes you think that all they do is persuade you to use your credit card for each and every upsell – instead of teaching and educating you.
After all, it’s an online learning platform – NOT a conduit to mislead you to buy more and more products.
Overall, MentorBox is worth trying. Their free subscription for 3 days should be enough for you to gauge its effectiveness. It will give you enough time to have a feel if the app is worth your money and time.
Where these other models fall short is in scalability. Because in order to make a good amount of money with a 1 or 2 websites, you have to reach people on a national level.
But what if you went local?
With Local Lead Generation, you will be getting service requests from multiple sites at every minute of the day from people who are willing to pay a lot of money for what you can provide them.
We were watching a YouTube video once where the host made a comment that it isn’t about making a lot of money from one website… it’s about making a little bit of money from lots of different websites.
So, think of it this way….
What if you could have streams of investment income where you operated 10 rental units that you could charge anywhere from $750-1,000 per month?
That’s $7,500-10,000 per month in passive income!
But instead of spending $Millions to build houses or apartment complexes… you spend a couple hundred dollars to build websites.
You then get those websites ranked in the search engines for specific home-based services that customers are searching for.
Next, you offer your business opportunity to local business owners who are looking for customers and are willing to pay you for their information.
You’ve just created a Digital Real Estate Investment Empire that is potentially earning you 4-5 figures in PASSIVE INCOME on a monthly basis without spending a single dime on ads.
With conventional digital real estate, you have to compete with thousands, if not millions of others who are selling the SAME product to the SAME customers.
With Local Lead Generation, the competition is virtually nothing and your profit margins are 85-90%.
Now, we could go on and on, but we’re sure you have tons of questions about how to create Digital Real Estate assets and start building YOUR digital empire!
