But How Did He Make His Money?

The one thing that’s well-known about ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWs) – the folks worth at least $30 million USD – is that virtually ALL of them have some part of their fortune in real estate.

Many of the more famous rich people and “celebrity entrepreneurs” actually got their start in real estate. And that’s great for them! Not so much for us…

See, more millionaires are created during recessions than any other part of the economic cycle. Which is cool, except the last real recession was 2008, when real estate prices were in the tank and you could buy a whole neighborhood with $100,000.

Now, though, real estate prices are through the roof, and interest rates are skyrocketing too. So how does the everyday person start building a massive net worth in an economy like this one? Have you considered Digital Real Estate?

The internet’s been around for decades, but the possibility of actually owning high-value pieces of property ON the internet is fairly new. In other words, it’s a wide-open playing field…but it won’t stay that way forever.

Here’s a quick summary of how Digital Real Estate works:

You invest a little money (maybe around $100) to either purchase or build a piece of “land” on the internet. You specifically place this “land” in a high-traffic area, where lots of people pass through (just like traditional real estate, it’s all about Location, Location, Location).

The folks who pass through your “land” all happen to be looking for a specific product or service, so you “rent” your land to a business owner who happens to offer that product or service. The business owner pays you $500 to $2,000 a month to “rent” your Digital Real Estate, because it helps them connect with their ideal customers.

Think of it like buying a strip mall, or an office space, just on the internet, for WAAAAYYY less money and headache.

In addition to being a well-known American rapper and performer, Mc Hammer is also a dancer, record producer, and all-around entertainer. The 1990s were the pinnacle of his career, but he has continued to gain notoriety in the music industry ever since.

early Life

MC Hammer, which was born Stanley Kirk Burrell, was born on March 30, 1963, in Oakland, California. A former professional poker player at Card Club’s Cardroom in Oakland, his father now manages a casino gambling operation. While his mother worked as a secretary, he previously had a position at the warehouse as a supervisor. Other than MC Hammer, his parents housed their nine children in a small Oakland apartment.

Stanley was employed as a clubhouse helper and batboy by Oakland Athletics team owner Charles Finley after he watched the 11-year-old do splits and dance routines in the parking lot. For the period 1973-1980, he was a batboy. During his stint with the A’s, he was dubbed “M.C.” for his role as “Master of Ceremonies.” Hank Aaron’s nickname, “Hammer,” was bestowed upon him because of his similarity to the baseball great.

MC Hammer spent his adolescent years selling stray baseballs and dancing with a beatboxing buddy. In 1986, he began his professional rap music career as a member of a Christian rap music group. MC Hammer released his third album, “U Can’t Touch This” and its music video in 1990, which included his most hit song, “U Can’t Touch This,” which made him famous and wealthy.

Burrell attended Oakland’s McClymonds High School before enlisting in the United States Navy after his graduation. He served as a Petty Officer for three years before being honorably discharged. Aside from being a rapper and dancer, his commercial ventures provided him with some financial stability, making him one of the best-known hip-hop artists in the world today.

Career

MC Hammer’s “pop rap” performances, which he pioneered in the late 1980s, brought him enormous fame. In addition, he is the first rap artist to have an album certified Diamond. However, even if many in the rap community consider him to be a “sellout” for his mainstream approach to the genre, he is still widely regarded as a legend in the genre and an entertainer.

When Hammer first started rapping, he performed at modest clubs in Oakland. After a record deal fell through early in his career, he borrowed $20,000 from two former Oakland A’s players, Mike Davis and Dwayne Murphy. As a result of the money, MC Hammer established the Bust It Productions record label.

To keep the business afloat, he ran record sales out of his garage and vehicle. MC became the CEO of Bustin’ Records when Bust It Productions merged with it. It was in 1987 when MC Hammer put out his first hip hop album on his own record label, Feel My Power. Over 60,000 copies of the album were sold. There was some radio airplay for Let’s Get it Started and Ring ‘Em, and both songs were popular choices for dance music in small venues around where they were recorded.

Two solo albums by MC Hammer were previously out in 1990. Even though his fame as a rapper remained modest, he managed to break through with the release of his third studio album, Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt Em which was released originally on January 1, 1990. It included his most well-known song, “U Can’t Touch This.” As a result of the success of “U Can’t Touch This,” MC Hammer rose to the status of overnight rap superstar.

MC Hammer is still active on social media, where he posts often about his varied interests, public appearances, and even religious beliefs. MC Hammer still maintains a sizable following on all of his social media platforms.

It is unfortunate that MC Hammer bankruptcy was known by the public. But as a result of new album releases, record label management, and other business endeavors, he has subsequently recovered a little.

Summary

MC Hammer’s success can’t be explained by chance; instead, it’s the product of his innate brilliance. Many consider him a one-hit wonder since he was unable to replicate the success of “U Can’t Touch This” in subsequent albums. However, despite the public’s displeasure with his later albums, he has never ceased to produce music.
