TikTok Insiders Review (Updated 2025): Is Maxwell Finn The Best Gen Z Guru?

By: Joel & Josiah
tiktok insiders review

If you’ve spent any time online these days, you’ve probably figured out that TikTok has taken over as probably the most influential social media outlet – especially among young people.

The China-based app has come under fire by US lawmakers a few times, but other than that, the only real concerns people have had are that their kids are spending too much time on it!

And where some people see a problem, Maxwell Finn sees a financial opportunity: sell stuff to those kids with his TikTok Insiders program.

It’s become well-known that building an ad agency can make you a nice stack of cash, but Finn says he can help you generate even more profitable TikTok ads than anyone else.

But you might already know all this if you saw one of those ads…and now you’re here, trying to figure out if this guy’s legit. You’ve been clicking around on different reviews, or maybe even checking out other ad agency guys like Iman Gadzhi.

And if that really is who you are, then just understand that I know how stressful this stuff can be. The economy sucks, you’re getting grinded down by the 9-5, and you’re desperate for someone or something to come and save you from it all…

…but deep down, you’re smart enough to know there are predators lurking, trying to scam people like yourself out of your money, with nothing to show for it.

Well, you’re in luck.

See, I’ve been writing these kind of reviews for years now, and after a while you start to notice some patterns of what makes sense and what doesn’t. I’ve written about everything from profitable affiliate marketing niches to how to become a real estate investor, and there are always red lights and green lights to look out for.

So, what I’ll do for ya is figure out what the pros and cons are when it comes to to the TikTok marketing community, how frequent ad rejections really are, and if Maxwell Finn is really the real deal!

But for now, let’s roll on into our TikTok Insiders review!

Maxwell Finn has a catchy name, a snappy online presence, and obviously knows a thing about gaining access to the TikTok marketing world. He's not a fraud or anything, but I do wish he would spend more time on teaching organic growth of your social media following, instead of such an intense focus on paying for your ads. Apparently he's got one of the "leading TikTok marketing community" support groups around, so I give him props for that. But he seems like he has so many companies on the go that I have to knock him down a little for his inability to personally mentor his students these days.

PROS

  • I gotta say, Maxwell Finn's website is pretty slick, which means he might know how to help you make yours easier to navigate as well.
  • TikTok is growing all the time, and that means you'll have a huge audience to market toward.
  • Maxwell has achieved some solid success so far in his career, which means you're not paying for a total no-name guru.

CONS

  • TikTok has been at risk of being shutdown by US lawmakers in the past, which means you could lose a huge chunk of your marketing audience depending on what becomes a hot political issue.
  • If marketing on social media sounds great to you, then it probably sounds great to thousands of other students - which means Maxwell Finn is churning out more of your competition every day.
  • As many companies as Finn as started, there are barely any student reviews out there - which means you may be gambling on the quality of the program. TLD

Why Listen To Us?

My name is Josiah, and this is my Dad, Joel.

Together, we make up the team here at Scamrisk.

If you’ll let me bother you for two minutes, I’d like to quickly explain why I’m even here writing this review.

In early 2020, I had just graduated from college & had no real career prospects.

I knew I was destined for something more, but I had no clue how I was going to make it happen.

I had this sinking feeling in my gut all the time… like the “big man upstairs” had accidentally given me the version of life where I’d be mediocre forever, instead of the one where I was, ya know – happy & fulfilled.

Anyway…

I had fiddled around with some different online businesses in college:

Some random MLMs, a bit of affiliate marketing, a (failed) dropshipping store or two, all the usual suspects.

Even my dad had been involved in MLMs back in the day… selling knives & other random nonsense people (probably) didn’t need.

All I really wanted was to find something that was going to actually work for me.

Maybe those things had worked for others, but for me it all turned up a fat “0” in the bank account department.

So I searched! And searched… and searched… and searched…

And eventually, I somehow stumbled upon a program that promised to help me build an income online (read about it here if you’re curious).

I didn’t really want to be “rich”.

The thought of making a reliable $5K per month & not having to worry about clocking in to a 9-to-5 ever again was all I needed.

Sure, there were people in the program doing high-6 and low-7 figures per year… but that wasn’t what I was out for.

I just wanted to provide freedom for myself, and if I was lucky, take my family along for the ride.

Fast forward a few days and a few phone calls & I was enrolled!

Here’s the first “money making website” I put up:

I built that site in 2020, and it still makes me $1,500 per month. It’s a basic 5 page website I built based on a template the program provides.

The best part to me? My dad and I get to do it all together!

So between the:

  1. Ease of reaching $5-$10K per month in income online
  2. Straightforward-ness of the system to do it
  3. Fact that I get to do it w/ my family

Is why I recommend local lead generation as my #1 business model for making money online.

Sure, it takes some work and dedication – but anyone that tells you that there’s a business out there that requires no work is selling you a lemon.

I’m not saying you need to sign up for the same program I did, but I would definitely recommend giving the business model a peek!

TLDR – What’s The Verdict On TikTok Insiders?

tiktok insiders maxwell finn

If you search up TikTokInsiders, it’ll actually re-direct you to the broader program: Paid Traffic Insider.

What this reveals is that while Maxwell Finn does offer a focus with access to the TikTok trends database, he operates as a general Social Media Marketing Agency across other platforms like Facebook and Instagram as well.

Running a SMMA is a pretty good idea, as basically you capitalize on our current age of everyone spending way too much time on social media, and run your own profitable ad channel online.

Well, that’s the theory, at least.

While marketing like this is a favorite of mine, I do wish that Maxwell Finn would focus more on building up your TikTok (or other social media) following without paying for ads, which leads to an “organic” traffic. The nice thing about organic traffic is that it usually leads to more sustainable leads, and it saves you a ton of money on paid ads every month. Ranking on the front page of Google is a nice place to get to as well.

But Maxwell Finn is sticking to his paid ads, for better or for worse.

It definitely does help when you’re just starting out and have limited creative and competitor research figured out, because you’re basically paying for immediate traffic.

But, personally, as energetic and intelligent as Finn seems to be, I just don’t think you’d be getting the best bang for your buck by signing up with his TikTok Insiders community.

On the other hand, there’s a Digital Leasing company that’s absolutely crushing the local lead generation game right now.

Sure, they’ll teach you how to use paid ads when you need them, but they focus on scoring you a ton of long-term relationships that lock in monthly stacks of cash, instead of bleeding out paid ads expenses every month.

Think about it – everyone’s on TikTok, which is nice, but you’re also gonna run into a ton of kids with way bigger followings than you all pushing to sell their own stuff on the platform.

It’s oversaturated.

Instead, local lead generation focuses on bringing clients into small businesses in your community – and customers are always in demand. This reduces competition, and gives you something that is “evergreen”.

The students seem extremely passionate about what they’re doing – not just getting by, but creating their own future.

That said, if you’d like to hear some more about our TikTok Insiders review, let’s keep on rolling.

Who Benefits From TikTok Insiders…And Who Is It Wrong For?

AreaScoreDescription
Time Investment4/5Shouldn’t take long – if Finn teaches it right.
Level of Control2/5Only sticking to TikTok takes away control.
Ease of Implementation4/5Pretty easy to get into, and Finn is good with communication.
Profit Potential4/5Ad agencies are great, even if he misses the SEO stuff.

If you clicked on one of Maxwell Finn’s ads because it promised shiny toys like “access to the TikTok talent database” by joining TikTok Insiders, I don’t blame you. Maxwell Finn is one of the most successful TikTok marketers out there, and his ad platform developments are no joke.

That said, he’s a little more flash than substance in my opinion, since he doesn’t really talk about driving organic traffic via building up your audience through posting strategies – or better yet, Search Engine Optimization tactics.

And while I respect his broader appeal in some of his other courses, this one focuses on only TikTok ads, so it’s limited compared to what you might get with other social media marketing programs.

Basically, some guys like Finn are stellar gurus, and he gets most of the business model right, but he just lags behind other programs when it comes to his methods of getting the job done.

All that said, Maxwell Finn might be for you if…

  1. You spend too much time on social media, and figure it makes sense to make money on it
  2. You like his youthful energy
  3. You’ve done well with other marketing courses (like Local Marketing Vault)

On the other hand, it probably doesn’t make sense to join him if…

  1. You’d prefer there to be more student reviews out there to judge from
  2. You are concerned that TikTok may be banned in the USA
  3. You’d like to learn more growing your audience without paying for it

TikTok Insiders At A 1,000 FT View

tiktokinsiders what is it

Maxwell Finn is a guru who’s all-in on the social media marketing agency (SMMA) business model. That’s where you pretty much advertise for businesses using social media paid ads – it’s got a lot of similarities to my preferred way of doing things (lead generation), but it’s still pretty good.

These kind of courses often say you don’t need much experience to work with them, and that can be true, but it often depends on the mentor you decide to go with. Some gurus offer high-level training where you really need at least some base knowledge or already have an agency, but others are willing to start their courses with baby-steps.

Of course, I do like that Maxwell offers a bunch of free info on his social media pages, so you can have a better idea of what to expect before plunging in.

At the end of the day, running an ad agency has a lot of room for profit – but you gotta do it right.

Starting off with paid ads can give you a temporary boost, but you wanna be able to sustain all that…and more importantly, you need to make sure you don’t bleed out too many expenses early on.

Having a Clickfunnels account alone will set you back a bunch of money, so you don’t want to have too many costs until your business is really rolling.

This is why you need a steady leader who will teach you about paid ads, but focus primarily on getting you on Google’s first page for the long run. It’s a great idea, and I recommend Digital Leasing to anyone just starting out, or who’s looking to take their ad agency to the next level.

If it’s financial freedom you’re after, give it a shot!

Who Is Maxwell Finn?

who is maxwell finn

Maxwell Finn is a notorious digital marketer, and he’s been grinding as an entrepreneur for a while now.

Apparently his family is full of self-starters, so it wasn’t surprising when he basically came out of the womb starting up businesses. First was a mobile platform called “Loot!”, while another was called “Startup Drugz”…I gotta say, these names sound like they should probably be investigated by the FBI.

But in all seriousness, he did well with some of all this, then re-invested profits into starting up an ad agency with one of the guys from Shark Tank, Kevin Harrington.

He’s won awards with Clickfunnels and is pretty much respected all-around for his ability to create insightful reporting dashboards, rapidly scale winning ads, and for his knowledge of TikTok media buyers.

These days, he runs his Unicorn Innovations company, which is the foundation where all his courses – like TikTok Insiders – and programs launch from.

How Much Does TikTok Insiders Cost?

how much does tiktok insiders cost

Maxwell Finn throws down a lot of his content for free on YouTube and TikTok, but it’s basically all a way to get you interested in his TikTok Insiders program…which also happens to be linked to his Paid Traffic Insiders program.

It seems that the first year will cost you $997, and then $1,188 per year for every year after that.

However, he is also offering a deal for “2k Off Paid Traffic Insiders Annual Membership”, which makes me wonder just how much this will all set you back in the end.

It likely means you’re looking at at least two thousand dollars, in addition to monthly Clickfunnels fees that can be north over $300/per month.

All of this is to say: be careful before you make any big investment like this!

TikTok Insiders’ Refund Policy

tiktok insiders refund policy

Some sources say that Maxwell Finn offers just a 24-hour window for refunds, but I was able to find one that extends to 30 days…but it’s one of those “you gotta jump through all these hoops” kind of things where they can refuse it if they feel you haven’t done enough work.

Personal Opinion On Maxwell Finn

is maxwell finn a scam or legit

Some people make great marketers, but can’t coach. Some people are great coaches, but don’t do the business model justice.

It’s a tricky game…so, how do you make sure you pick the right program?

  • Make sure you can see yourself doing this ten years from now
  • Check out the guru’s energy to see if they’ll match with your own
  • Figure out how much everything costs, so you’re not swimming upstream

Maxwell Finn is far from the worst guru out there.

In fact, how about a quick 3 things I like about him:

  1. He clearly knows how to operate in the marketing world.
  2. Running an ad agency can be very profitable when done right
  3. TikTok is growing all the time

…and, to be fair, 3 things I don’t really like:

  1. Focusing only on paid ads can lead to an inefficient business
  2. If TikTok gets banned in the US, you’re out of a career
  3. With barely any student reviews out there, it’s a risky buy

So, is Maxwell Finn running a scam?

Well, most scams aren’t gonna provide you with any value at all.

Even if I think Finn could do some things a little better, that doesn’t mean he’s ripping you off or doing anything illegal..

…but that still doesn’t mean he’s the best bet for you.

Focusing only on paid ads is very limiting, and focusing on just one social media platform can be even more risky.

Everyone’s entitled to their opinions and ways of doing business, but some ways are just better than others – and the numbers don’t lie.

You need a mentor who can teach you all the different sides of making money online, so you can make a ton of money without spending hardly any of your own in comparison!

Digital Leasing provides that financial freedom you’re really looking for, where the risk is lower and the upside is through the roof!

What’s Inside TikTok Insiders?

whats inside tiktokinsiders

Here are some of the things TikTok Insiders promises to teach their students:

  • How to create “winning ads”
  • How to create custom audiences for targeting ads
  • Setting budgets
  • Knowing which trends are big
  • How long you should run an ad campaign for
  • Getting over having your ads rejected

Something I found interesting was that Maxwell Finn wants you to make TikTok your primary hub so you’re not stuck on Facebook…but Facebook seems a lot less likely to be shut down in the USA than TikTok.

Conclusion Of My TikTok Insiders Review

So, should you fork over your money to Maxwell Finn?

Probably not.

He’s a strong salesman, and you definitely aren’t gonna get scammed if you decide to team up with him…

…but that’s a pretty low standard in my opinion.

I personally recommend flexing your muscles and expanding beyond the restrictions of paid ads, and beyond TikTok as well.

Digital Leasing has been killing it for some people I know, so go ahead and give it a shot – your bank account will thank you for it! You can advertise for free, or you can pay for a short boost – and you can advertise all over Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter…and yes, TikTok as well.

Who knows, maybe you’ll even work from the beach one day…
