For legal coverage, LegalShield charges you a fixed price on a monthly basis.

The more your monthly payment is, the more extensive the coverage is.

Keep in mind that regardless of the plan you select, your legal work will be performed by a law firm from LegalShield’s network. Unfortunately, not all legal firms offer all of the perks outlined in each plan. Prices may also differ significantly depending on your region.

As shown above, there is a wide spectrum of costs depending on the degree of legal assistance your company will require.

If you work as a freelancer, the home business supplement that may be added to your personal legal plan (which costs $24.95 per month) may be sufficient.

For other small firms, select the plan that is appropriate for the number of employees.

As previously indicated, each plan provides limits on the lawyer’s time, so make sure you fully grasp what each plan offers before you sign up.

For example, the lawyer will commit up to one hour of legal work to a general phone chat. Following that, you must pay the attorney’s usual hourly cost, less a discount of 25%.

You only get a maximum of 15 pages for document reviews, and you can request a maximum of six document reviews each month.

If you require an attorney to phone or write letters to a third party on your behalf, you only get a max of six calls or letters each month.

If you exceed these limits, you must pay the attorney’s usual charge less the discount of 25%.

Problems With LegalShield

LegalShield’s competitors provide a money-back guarantee or a limited trial membership. Rocket Lawyer, for example, provides a free 7-day trial as well as a 30-day money-back guarantee.

LegalZoom, on the other hand, has a refund policy or money-back guarantee valid within 60 days.

This isn’t the case with LegalShield, You can do neither of the two, so you need to thoroughly check every detail that’s included in the plan you wish to avail.

If you decide after a few months that you no longer require LegalShield’s services, you always have the option to cancel your membership by reaching out to customer service.

Slow Website

LegalShield’s website isn’t the most user-friendly, and it might be sluggish at times. Thankfully, after you’ve purchased your package, there’s no need to visit the site all that often.

You can contact your lawyer directly or go to the website of the partner law firm.

Limits To Legal Plan

A monthly membership to a LegalShield plan, like any other online legal service, has limitations. These include time constraints for the lawyer and also a limited number of pages for document review.

If your legal job exceeds the limitations, you will have to pay extra. Furthermore, not all lawyers and law firms are eligible for all incentives.

Some perks are at the discretion of the lawyer and the firm, meaning  you may not be able to make use of all of the features stated in the pricing list.

Spotty Customer Service

You will find some complaints online about LegalShield’s customer service. When I emailed customer service, I had a bad experience. The representative was not able to respond to my inquiry about membership benefits.
