“My World” and “My World 2.0,” Bieber’s two-part album, was released in 2010. He performed on a number of lives shows as part of its promotional activities, including “Good Morning America,” “The Today Show,” “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” and “The Wendy Williams Show.”
My World was an instant hit and in the US alone, it sold more than one million albums in just under two months.
Today, “My World” is a certified 5x platinum album, rendering it as the very first album to have four r&b songs on the Billboard Top 40 even before the album was released. The four singles include One Time, One Less Lonely Girl, Love Me, and Favorite Girl.
Likewise, My World 2.0 proved to be just as successful as it debited on the #1 spot in the US.
After Steven Wonder topping the Billboard 200 chart in 1963, Bieber became the next youngest solo male act to accomplish a similar feat with a total of 698,000 copies sold, only three weeks after its release.
Bieber’s single featuring Ludacris, “Baby,” sold over 15 million copies worldwide, making it this best selling single of all time.
“Under the Mistletoe,” Bieber’s second album, was also a success with over 2 million copies sold worldwide. And his third album exceeded his second album’s success by selling more than 3 million copies all around the world.
