Anil Damji and Nurjehan Damji gave birth to Jamil Damji on December 12, 1978. In Calgary, Alberta, Canada, he had a childhood with his sister, Rahima Blaza. Jamil then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.

Damji Blaza began his real estate career alongside his sister, Rahima, in their family's business, Blaza Properties. He started his career in Alberta, Canada, managing and selling multifamily and wholesale properties.

To pursue his passion for stand-up comedy after the 2008 financial meltdown, he moved back to Los Angeles. Still, he left again after four years and founded KeyGlee in Phoenix, Arizona.
