This review will go over Google Data Studio to see if it really is the best data visualization tool out there.
You’ll learn whether data visualization is the right tool for your business.
And at the end, you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding Google Data Studio and data visualization in general.
But most importantly, you’ll see the exact system many others have used to build their own internet marketing business to over $40,000 a month in mostly passive income.
What Is The Google Data Studio?
Google Data Studio is an essential component of the Google Analytics 360 Suite. It provides you with a set of sophisticated tools for converting analytics data from their other solutions into simple informational reports using data visualization. Google Data Studio reports are simple to interpret and may be customized.
The best feature of Google Data Studio is that users may import anything as long as data is in Google Sheets.
That’s correct! If your data can be stored in Google Sheets, you can use Google Data Studio on it. You can also share reports with your team immediately, and your team members can update them just like any other Google Doc.
As you can see, if you are heavily reliant on Google infrastructure, Google Data Studio is an excellent choice.
Who Are The Intended Users Of Data Studio?
Based on our evaluation of GDS, the tool appears to be aimed at a group of semi-technical users who work with numbers and are well-versed in Excel.
They may even be familiar with a scripting language (Python, JS), but they are not technical enough to work on data architecture, create comprehensive reports from scratch, or perform detailed analysis that takes some SQL acrobatics.
These are essentially what people refer to as “business analysts.” They understand business challenges well, speak business and a little data, and want a tool to compile and present visually appealing reports to clients or internal stakeholders.
Is Google Data Studio Free To Use?
As for Google Data Studio pricing, it is currently available for free as part of the Google Cloud Platform service.
Is Google Data Studio Really Free?
It’s highly probable that, like Google Analytics, Google will start charging for it (or a premium version of it) in the future (with Google Analytics 360).
Is Google Data Studio Any Good?
Overall, Google Data Studio is a terrific tool for anyone looking to get started in business intelligence or who simply wants to go beyond Excel and create automated interactive reports.
The interface is relatively simple to use, and the workflow is kept as basic as possible. Furthermore, it is absolutely free to use, so it doesn’t get any better than that!
As with any tool, there is a learning curve to become highly proficient, particularly when generating formulas for calculated fields and grasping some of the more sophisticated functions, but as with any device or tool, the more you use it, the better you’ll grow to know it.
How Useful Is Google Data Studio?
One of Google Data Studio’s most useful and unique features is its capacity to pull from 12 various data sources, which you may consolidate in your reports. This implies you may gather and aggregate data from a variety of essential platforms.
Here are a few examples:
- Google Ads
- Google Analytics
- Search Console
And there’s more!
You can create a report that examines all areas of your business using these platforms.
This feature turns Data Studio into a one-stop shop for all your reporting needs, ensuring that your reports look exceptionally professional. Don’t pass up this free tool to impress your company’s decision-makers while also demonstrating the worth of digital marketing.
How Do Integrations With Various Data Sources Work
GDS works well with other Google products, primarily database products (BigQuery, Spanner, Cloud SQL…), ad & campaign management products (Google Analytics, Adwords, Youtube Analytics…), and Google Sheets.
BigQuery: GDS can connect to BigQuery’s tables and views with ease, and it also supports custom SQL to assist customers in optimizing dashboard performance and query cost. Each table, view, and custom SQL statement functions as a data set.
Google Spreadsheets: Because each sheet in a Google spreadsheet is a separate data collection, each data source will only link to one sheet in a spreadsheet. For GDS to function properly, the data in the sheet should be in tabular form. If your business collects data online and have it on Google Sheet, then it will be easier for you.
Apps (GA, Youtube, Google Ads): GDS includes official connectors for Google Analytics, Youtube Analytics, and other similar services. For example, when you connect to your Google Analytics account, GDS will automatically detect accessible Dimensions and Metrics.
There are also GDS designs designed to operate with Google Ads or YouTube Analytics right away, and there is even a dedicated filter in GDS to regulate GA data sources.
However, the data acquired through these authorized connectors are simply aggregated (and perhaps sampled).
Working with non-Google stack: As previously stated, GDS includes hundreds of connectors created by Google partners, as well as a few open-source ones, in addition to official connectors to Google products.
These connectors allow you to browse public (or sometimes private) data from other websites, with the majority of them coming from social networking and advertising platforms.
Data Studio, BigQuery, And Raw Data
If you have a Premium GA account, you can export raw, hit-level data from Google Analytics to BigQuery. Because raw GA data is rather vast and nested, it would require an additional processing layer before being explored using GDS.
The only way to connect Firebase Analytics to GDS is to export raw data to BigQuery and then use GDS to explore those Firebase tables. This feature is only available to Blaze Plan (formerly known as Premium Plan) customers.
Summary Of The Review
Overall, I believe Google Data Studio is a good BI solution for reporting purposes with simple data structures but extensive formatting needs (i.e the data behind is not complicated, but end users need sophisticated reports).
Several significant points are noted below:
- Designed for semi-technical users, also known as business analysts.
- There are numerous data connections that support numerous integrations, but there is no guarantee of community-contributed connectors.
- Their reporting perspective with a Powerpoint-like experience is unique and distinguishes them from other solutions we are familiar with.
- Because their data modeling is inadequate and very basic, they are unable to do complex procedures or provide self-service. There are no drilldowns or basic filtering options.
- Data blending or blended data has potential, but its implementation is still limited, making it difficult for users to edit and join data (which usually takes 80 percent of the time).
- It was created to complement and function well with the Google Cloud stack.
I recommend it if you already use (or intend to use) Google and GCP services. Choosing Google Data Studio will be definitely convenient for you.
Can You Make Money With Google Data Studio?
Yes, you can! Google Data Studio supports small and big businesses alike with their unique and promising products.
There’s a lot that comes along with data visualization that many people struggle with.
Now, don’t get the wrong idea…
It’s not impossible to make money with data visualization, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to do this business (which, trust us, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money while you’re learning the ropes.
The program that helped skyrocket many online businesses to over $40,000+ per month is so simple that making money really does become second nature.
Is Google Data Studio A Scam?
Google Data is not a scam. It is a legit business intelligence automation tool.
It is entirely possible to build a profitable, successful business with data visualization… But there are better ways to build a business other than with data visualization.
Because unlike Google Data Studio, it actually provides real proof of real success from real people as recently as a few days ago.
Is Google Data Studio Legitimate?
Yes, it is 100% legit! I love Google Data Studio because it has third party data integration options. This means you can just go ahead with your existing analytics tool and make your reliance on Data Studio minimal.
But, when it comes to building a business, you have plenty of options.
And even if you’re dead set on becoming a data analyst, you’ve got way better options than Google Data Studio.
Keep in mind, I don’t get paid to promote any of the programs we review. I personally think data visualization is a great business model, but you could end up leaving way too much money on the table.
What Is My Top Recommendation For Making Money Online In 2022?
My review team has come across a program in the real estate industry that is next level!
Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.
Where Google Data Studio falls short is in scalability.
You can’t realistically expect to be able to do SEO all day everyday.
It just takes too many resources (money included) for any regular person to bootstrap, not to mention some clients can be real headaches!
But what if you could make even more money off of little local websites without having to spend all your day monitoring different campaigns?
With this digital real estate program, you can profit off LOCAL traffic to your website every single day!
Sound too good to be true? Of course it does! But it isn’t…in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!
All you have to do is build and rank a LOCAL website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, you could even email it to them!
This works for literally any service based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc.
How do you get paid and how much?
Simple, after you forward the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.
A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%…let’s just use the tree service industry for example and go by worst case scenario.
Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 10 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000!
That means at bare minimum you have an asset worth $500 a month!
See why they call it digital real estate now? That’s a rent payment. Because It’s YOUR ASSET
The great thing is how easy it is to scale. You don’t have to worry about clients that are headaches because you own the website.
Back to SEO, why land a small $500 SEO client that is treating you like an employee, when you can own your own asset with leverage?
This model actually allows you to collect HUGE FLAT RATE DEALS. Truly passive income!
The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice over when he is sharing his screen.
You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc.
Once the training program is completed you will also have access to a Facebook group much better than the Google Data Studio group in our opinion. This group is much more active.
Unlike Google Data Studio, where you’re getting maybe $250 per month, you could be getting 10-20X THAT.
A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name…they see it as it is…expanding digital real estate.
Unlike Google Data Studio, more people have been able to walk away from their 9-5 job as well.
Now, I know you probably have tons of questions…
