Ecwid Review: Best eCom Platform Or Is There A Better Option For You?

Is Ecwid a good product?

In this in-depth look at the platform, you’ll learn about its major features, strengths, shortcomings, and overall value for money.

By the end of this review, you will have a better sense of whether Ecwid is the ideal e-commerce solution for your company—and, if not, what the best alternatives are.

This review will go over Ecwid to see if it really is the best eCommerce platform out there.

You’ll learn whether eCommerce is the right online business for you.

And at the end, you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding Ecwid and eCommerce in general.

But most importantly, you’ll see the exact system many others have used to build their own internet marketing business to over $40,000 a month in mostly passive income.

This system made them swear off eCommerce for good, because it uses some of the same skills but in a much more powerful and profitable way!

What Is Ecwid?

Ecwid is a website builder that allows you to create your own online store.

It’s a “software as a service” (SaaS) product, which means you don’t own it and must pay a monthly charge to utilize it.

Ecwid, like other e-commerce platforms, allows you to create “catalogs” of products and add images, pricing, weight, and so on for each item.

You can set shipping costs, accept credit card payments, and do anything else you’d expect to be able to do with an e-commerce service. Nothing is installed on your computer; everything is done through a web browser.

Is Ecwid Good For Beginners?

Ecwid eCommerce does not require the use of a developer in order to sell online. Ecwid is extremely user-friendly, and anyone with even the most basic technical knowledge may quickly and easily begin selling online.

Is Ecwid Safe?

Overall, Ecwid is a low-cost, high-power approach to add e-commerce capabilities to an existing site or to host an online store on a Facebook page or other social media presence.

If you’re developing a standalone site, there are better solutions—I’d recommend Shopify or BigCommerce—but Ecwid does what it says on its product page: it lets you simply add e-commerce to any website.

Ecwid Pricing Summary

Free – $0 per month, with the ability to sell up to ten products.

Venture – $15 per month, with the ability to sell up to 100 products.

Business – $35 per month, with the ability to sell up to 2,500 products.

Unlimited – $99 per month, with the ability to sell an unlimited amount of products. It also comes with priority support.

Which Plan Should I Pick?

Ecwid has a free plan as well as three premium subscriptions. If you sell fewer than ten things, the Free plan is ideal.

If you will sell more than that, the Venture plan ($15 per month) is a wise decision—it’s powerful and will suffice for the majority of small businesses to get started. You can store up to 100 goods and use all payment channels and shipping agencies.

The ability to employ product variations and filters, as well as access to eBay and other marketplaces, is a clear advantage of the Business plan (which costs $35 per month).

In addition, you can enable multilingual pages, send abandoned cart emails and other email marketing campaigns, and receive phone support.

Ecwid’s Standout Features

Ecwid’s e-commerce solution is appealing for a variety of reasons. Here are a few highlights:

Can You Use Ecwid With Your Current Website?

Yes. Ecwid is compatible with most CMSs (content management systems) as well as social media platforms such as Facebook.

This means that you can have an existing website and still use the shopping cart to make money with the business. You may also sell on social media.

Platforms that are supported include:

  • WordPress
  • Drupal
  • Wix
  • Weebly
  • Squarespace
  • Joomla
  • Adobe Muse
  • Blogger
  • Duda
  • Tumblr
  • Blogger
  • Yola

To be successful, an online business needs effective marketing. Ecwid allows you to quickly design and run Facebook and Google advertising from your Ecwid dashboard.

Is the Control Panel User-Friendly?

Yes. Ecwid’s control panel was upgraded in 2018 to improve the interface and make it easier to use for small businesses.

Among the changes were:

Re-ordering the tabs based on merchant data allows the most frequently used functionalities to be placed higher up the menu.

When you open the control panel, the menu will be displayed vertically so that you can see all areas.

These adjustments reduce the amount of time you have to spend getting to the portion you require. Along with these upgrades, the control panel is now responsive, allowing you to work from your smartphone.

Managing your sales channels is one of the functions you may need to access. Sales channels are several platforms through which you can sell your products. This might be your blog, social media platforms, or an offline platform such as a pop-up shop.

Can Ecwid Help You With Sales and Marketing?

Of course, no eCommerce business (or, for that matter, any internet business) would be complete without marketing tools to sell products. Here’s an overview of what’s available:

  • An abandoned cart saver feature that encourages clients to return to finish abandoned transactions.
  • Customers enter discount coupons directly into the shopping cart.
  • Customers on your site can use social networking features to like your page or share it with friends and family.
  • A Google Shopping advertising app that is automated.

Sell Across Channels Using A Single Dashboard

Let’s begin with the available sales channels:

  • There’s also the Facebook store and integration.
  • You can sell on eBay & other channels at the same time.
  • Some plans include a point-of-sale (POS) system, which is useful if you want to mix brick-and-mortar retail with internet sales.
  • If you wish to process sales for your company in several locations, such as during events, a mobile POS is an option.
  • There is an Android & iOS store management app that allows you to keep track of your sales & customer service at all times.
  • Some plans let clients create their own branded iOS and Android applications for their stores, providing you with an additional sales channel.
  • Every plan begins with a fully functional online Ecwid store.

Then there are the tools that help with the sales process:

  • Tax computations that are automated ensure that your store collects the correct amount of tax by the end of the year.
  • The inventory management tool keeps you informed at all times about how many pieces you have of each product, whether you are delivering products to clients on time, and so on.
  • You can even build wholesale price groups if you want to sell large quantities of things at wholesale.

Other features like Spocket, Syncee, and Wholesale2B are available in Ecwid’s app store or app market.

Ecwid Reviews: Customer Support

Ecwid has a “Chat With Sales” tool, which is one of my favorite methods to communicate with businesses. Simply send them an inquiry and go on to something else until they respond.

The company also has a robust help section that includes FAQs, a knowledge base, a forum, and email capabilities.

Overall, the support channels include phone help, online chat support, and email support, allowing for quick response times and great support quality.

In terms of support, the platform, in my opinion, has everything you could want if you want to build an Ecwid online store.

Payment Gateways & Fees For Ecwid

To be honest, finding an eCommerce platform that does not impose transaction fees has never been easy. But, oddly, Ecwid provides just that. They never charge transaction costs on any of their plans, making Ecwid a viable eCommerce solution for any shop looking to reduce expenses or enhance margins.

But here’s the catch. It is important to note that Ecwid is not a payment processor. That means you’ll need to set up a service like PayPal or Stripe to handle all of the transactions that occur through your website.

Speaking of which, Ecwid interacts with over 40 foreign payment methods, making it relatively simple to deploy any of these systems. It’s worth mentioning, though, that each of these processors has its own set of transaction fees.

That’s okay. Assume you want to collect both online and physical payments. Is it possible to move forward with a POS integration?

The great news is that there are a plethora of acceptable POS card payment methods. Ecwid integrates with Clover, Square POS, Vend POS, iZettle, and PayPal card readers, transforming your store setup into an online and offline solution.

What Do We Think Of Ecwid?

Ecwid is a surprisingly robust eCommerce application that can compete in terms of features with industry titans like Shopify and other online store builders.

It’s inexpensive and has some quite advanced features for Ecwid users, such as the ability for customers to attach files to their purchases, allowing you to sell customized products such as printed t-shirts. It also has a free eCommerce downloadable kit.

Fortunately, Ecwid has addressed some of its Search Engine Optimization concerns, which were previously a source of concern. It is now easier to get your shop correctly indexed in Google thanks to their URL updates.

You can also make deep links to your products, which will take your visitors right to the item.

They also appear to be committed to enhancing their product, with new features being added on a regular basis. For example, at the time of writing, they were beta-testing a recurring payments function that would allow business owners to sell subscription products like food boxes or beauty products.

Can You Make Money With An Ecwid Store?

Yes, you can make money with Ecwid!

There’s a lot that comes along with eCommerce in general that many people struggle with.

In fact, check out these Top 5 Reasons Why Most eCommerce Businesses Fail.

Now, don’t get the wrong idea…

It’s not impossible to make money with eCommerce, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to do this business (which, trust us, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money while you’re learning the ropes.

The program that helped skyrocket many online businesses to over $40,000+ per month is so simple that making money really does become second nature.

Is Ecwid A Scam?

Ecwid is not a scam. It is beneficial if you want to run your own online store. If you have an existing website, you can use different Ecwid’s features to boost your sales and marketing.

It is entirely possible to build a profitable, successful eCommerce business… But there are better ways to build a business other than with eCommerce.

Our #1 pick proves this.

Because unlike Ecwid, it actually provides real proof of real success from real people as recently as a few days ago.

Is Ecwid Legitimate?

Ecwid is a legit eCommerce platform for small to medium businesses. If you have your own online store or an existing website, you can check it out.

But, when it comes to building a business, you have plenty of options.

And even if you’re dead set on becoming a business owner, you’ve got way better options than Ecwid.

Keep in mind, we don’t get paid to promote any of the programs we review. We personally think eCommerce is a great business model, but you could end up leaving way too much money on the table.

What Is Our #1 Recommendation For Making Money Online In 2021?

Our review team has come across a program in the real estate industry that is next level!

Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.

Yup, Digital Real Estate!

With this digital real estate program, you can have the phone ringing at every minute of the day and never have to pick up once!

Sound too good to be true?

Of course it does!

But it isn’t…in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!

All you have to do is build and rank a website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, you could even email it to them!

This works for literally any service based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc.

How do you get paid and how much?

Simple, after you send the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.

A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%… let’s just use the tree service industry for example and go by worst case scenario.

Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 10 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000!

That means at bare minimum you have an asset worth $500 a month!

See why they call it digital real estate now?

That’s a rent payment.

The great thing is how easy it is to scale. You don’t have to answer the phone…all you have to do is get the phone to ring.

This program actually allows you to collect that without being on the phone all day.

Truly passive income!

The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice over when he is sharing his screen.

You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc.

Once you start the training program is completed you will also have access to their Facebook group.

A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name… they see it as it is… making them more money.

Now, I know you probably have tons of questions… So, check this out to learn more.
