Why Listen To Us

My name is Josiah, and this is my Dad, Joel.why listen us

Together, we make up the team here at Scamrisk.

If you’ll let me bother you for two minutes, I’d like to quickly explain why I’m even here writing this review.

In early 2020, I had just graduated from college & had no real career prospects.

I knew I was destined for something more, but I had no clue how I was going to make it happen.

I had this sinking feeling in my gut all the time… like the “big man upstairs” had accidentally given me the version of life where I’d be mediocre forever, instead of the one where I was, ya know – happy & fulfilled.

Anyway…

I had fiddled around with some different online businesses in college:

Some random MLMs, a bit of affiliate marketing, a (failed) dropshipping store or two, all the usual suspects.

Even my dad had been involved in MLMs back in the day… selling knives & other random nonsense people (probably) didn’t need.

All I really wanted was to find something that was going to actually work for me.

Maybe those things had worked for others, but for me it all turned up a fat “0” in the bank account department.

So I searched! And searched… and searched… and searched…

And eventually, I somehow stumbled upon a program that promised to help me build an income online (read about it here if you’re curious).

I didn’t really want to be “rich”.

The thought of making a reliable $5K per month & not having to worry about clocking in to a 9-to-5 ever again was all I needed.

Sure, there were people in the program doing high-6 and low-7 figures per year… but that wasn’t what I was out for.

I just wanted to provide freedom for myself, and if I was lucky, take my family along for the ride.

Fast forward a few days and a few phone calls & I was enrolled!

Here’s the first “money making website” I put up:

why listen us gif

I built that site in 2020, and it still makes me $1,500 per month. It’s a basic 5 page website I built based on a template the program provides.

The best part to me? My dad and I get to do it all together!

So between the:

  1. Ease of reaching $5-$10K per month in income online

  2. Straightforward-ness of the system to do it

  3. Fact that I get to do it w/ my family

Is why I recommend local lead generation as my #1 business model for making money online.

Sure, it takes some work and dedication – but anyone that tells you that there’s a business out there that requires no work is selling you a lemon.

I’m not saying you need to sign up for the same program I did, but I would definitely recommend giving the business model a peek!

TLDR - What's The Verdict On Ecom Good Life?

is the ecom good life legit

So, what's the short answer when it comes to forking over your money to Mikey Kass?

I'd say probably not...

I will give credit that people have gotten rich off ecommerce in the past, and there's a reason Kass can draw people to his sales pitch. Think about it, Amazon has become a massive corporation through ecommerce - clearly there is upside.

But as much as you can point to places like Amazon as a successful example, they are also not really in the business of helping the little guys coming up after them...in fact, they have been cutting into profits like crazy, and will randomly ban accounts if they think you're too generic.

And what is The Ecom Good Life selling you?

A generic shopify store.

On top of that, you gotta rememeber that Mikey Kass is not only selling one of these stores to you - he claims that over 10,000 students have come to him over the years. Even if he's exaggerating, it's not crazy to imagine there are at least hundreds or thousands of other people he sold that exact same store to...and he's not the only "guru" doing this.

So your competitors are growing by the day in an industry that's already oversaturated, not good. It's believed that you might still be able to make some money with dropshipping, but you need to stand out as one of the top 1-5% of sellers.

Do you think a generic store that looks like all the rest will really do it for you? Sometimes you get what you pay for. To make matters worse, we hear that his upsells are expensive and his refund policy is not always honored.

I'll hold off on more of of what I've discovered until later on in the review, but let me just say that in general ecommerce is pitched as a "get rich quick" idea, but it's one of the most time-consuming and stressful operations you can think of.

Personally, I recommend a more freedom-oriented, recession-proof industry like this Digital Leasing company that's been getting some great reviews lately.

They seem extremely passionate about what they're doing - not just getting by, but creating their own future.

Digital Leasing Legit

That said, if you'd like to hear some more about our Ecom Good Life review, let's keep on rolling.

Who Benefits From The Ecom Good Life...And Who Should Avoid It?

AreaScoreDescription
Time Investment1/5Dropshipping takes a lot more work than is advertised, and with a generic Shopify store, it may never work out for you
Level of Control2/5It's the exact store as the other people who pay Kass for his template, so no control there. You do have a few options after that, but it's not great. You can choose your supplier, etc.
Ease of Implementation3/5Pretty easy to implement, because it's just a carbon copy of an existing store. Still lots of work after that, however.
Profit Potential1/5Dropshipping is dying as it is - you have to be elite to stand a chance. A copied store won't help you stand out

Maybe some students can kill it with dropshipping and it doesn't really matter where they get help...

...but I've never met someone like that. To me, the right mentor is everything. Let's figure out how to know if you're on the right track or not.

Ecom Good Life might be for you if...

  1. You're willing to pour a lot of time and effort into something
  2. You have no problem selling cheap products at a high volume
  3. You've tried out some e-commerce programs before (like Skup) and liked it

On the other hand, it probably doesn't make sense to join Kass if...

  1. You don't want to lose your Amazon or social media account
  2. Mikey Kass' terrible online reviews scare you off
  3. You're after something that's more passive, and less actively time consuming

The Ecom Good Life Review at a 1,000 FT View

ecom good life dropshipping business model

The Business Model

Ecommerce is basically just a fancy way to say you sell stuff on the internet - usually through sites like Amazon, eBay, Facebook, etc.

Dropshipping is a form of ecommerce, where instead of storing the goods and shipping them yourself, you strike a deal with the supplier to pack and ship it from there.

It's not doing well these days with the streamlined process people are used to with companies like Amazon, and if you try to advertise your store on a lot of sites - like with Facebook ads - they will ban you.

You've gotta build sales funnels, identify the right supplier, make deals...so keep that in mind when a guru tells you don't need to spend any money on a successful dropshipping business...

Gurus like Mikey Kass also like to say you don't need to know anything about dropshipping niches before you start with him, but it seems like it would be smart to have that in your skillset before sending over your cash.

I will say that I like the lack of inventory that comes with dropshipping, so you don't need to worry about physical space. However, that means you're trusting a supplier (usually in China with poor English skills) with most of the process, which could lead to frustrated customers and bad reviews.

As I mentioned before, dropshipping and ecommerce have gone way too mainstream, so it's gonna be hard to get your store noticed unless you really go the extra mile with it...and I hate to say it, but spending a couple bucks on a cheap Shopify store doesn't fall under that category.

There's a lot of intense competition, and if you fall asleep at the wheel for a second, you could fall behind and lose everything.

Look - making money with dropshipping is completely possible, but you'll have to play games to dodge the ban-hammer on websites like Facebook and Shopify. Not exactly a great investment of money or time.

Again, I recommend more stable options like Digital Leasing if you're a rookie who wants to make it big online!

Who Is Mikey Kass?

Mikey Kass review scam or legit

Mikey Kass, The Ecom Good Life's founder, was born to hustle.

Back when he was just a kid in high school, Kass opened his first dropshipping business by using his mother's name. He claims that after only a week of operations, he got his store up to $30k in sales.

Now, while some parents may be proud of this kinda daring attitude, Mikey's parents didn't understand what dropshipping was and figured he must be scamming people!

It's pretty funny in a way - with so many folks searching up "is Mikey Kass a scam", it was actually his own parents who were the first ones to ever wonder it!

Well, things got a little less funny when his parents began calling the police, hiring a PI (Private Investigator), and hiring lawyers when he refused to shut down what he had going.

It's no shock that between a growing business and going to war with his own parents, Mikey's grades at school started to drop - to the point where he actually dropped out. Sorry for the puns.

Anyway, as sad as it is hearing about a torn-apart family, after Mikey dropped out, he was able to focus even more on dropshipping...but he learned that ecommerce can be a struggle.

After that first week of success, his Shopify stores took four months to hit $10k in monthly sales, and then he didn't see any profit for a year...

...now imagine how hard it could be for you, after years of saturation and platforms cracking down, with just one generic Shopify store to max out.

Well, after that year, Mikey did manage to break on through but selling over $100k per month, although it's not clear what his actual profits were. But he saw enough success that he decided to launch The Ecom Good Life course, where the young lad aims to pass down his knowledge to you.

Of course, the course is a little more expensive than the cheap Shopify store.

How Much Does The Ecom Good Life Cost?

how much does the ecom good life cost mikey kass

Alright, so let's go ahead and separate the three very different pricing setups:

$17 Shopify Store?

Yup, 17 bucks for a pre-built Shopify store. On his website, Mikey acts like he's doing us all a favor by being so nice. In reality, this setup is actually a problem because it is too generic and will not stand out among the competition, putting you in trouble before you even get started.

You'll also have to pay monthly fees to keep your Shopify account active, and then Mikey will push a $147 "blueprint" to show you how to drive traffic to your store, which is still not a terrible price.

But the real reason for the cheap price is to get you hooked into the Mikey Kass pipeline.

The Ecom Good Life Course

Apparently, Mikey Kass does really have a training program that will show you how to get the most out of your dropshipping business. However, what I really don't like is that the price seems to change based on how much the sales team can squeeze out of you.

I've seen prices like $1500, $2000, $3000, all the way up to $5000 "to see how committed you are".

This is not a great business practice. Usually, a strong business will have different pricing tiers for different programs, and you receive different things depending what you pay for. If you have a high ticket course and someone really wants or needs it, then you can offer them financing options.

But randomly giving away the course for whatever you can get? I think it sends an awful message to the people paying extra just because they were more enthusiastic to join, willing to spend whatever it takes.

And the crazy part is this just to access "the Mikey Kass team", which means any direct access to Mikey himself may cost over $10,000.

We've come a long way from that $17 ad you first saw, huh?

If you're feeling like you're in a little too deep, don't worry. There are stronger alternatives you can check out that don't carry the same level of risk.

What's The Ecom Good Life Refund Policy?

Mikey Kass scam refund policy

"Mikey Kass is a scammer I requested a refund because I realized I made an impulsive decision and requested a refund for the $997 mentoring the next morning after I purchased. They refused and told me I would have to do 50% of the work in 7 days or there would be no refund. I hadn’t even received my store yet, just videos to watch, no 1 on 1 call, nothing yet. And still won’t get a refund"

What a quote.

No matter where you go - Trustpilot, Reddit, or Quora, it's hard to find a positive review that doesn't sound like it's either written by Mikey himself, or someone who works for him.

There is supposed to be a 14-day money back guarantee, but even on Kass' website it's not clear if that even covers the course's cost or just the $17, which is no sweat for a guy like Mikey Kass to write off.

Judging from the reviews, I would not bank on getting any of your money back once you hand it over, so be careful out there!

Is The Ecom Good Life Legit Or Not?

trustpilot"He changes the price depending on how much money you say you have"Source
reddit"Mikey Kass is a scammer I requested a refund because I realized I made an impulsive decision"Source
quora"I would get your money back, assuming they’ll live up to that promise"Source

Looking at some of the reviews above, it's pretty obvious there are some serious issues with the way Mikey Kass handles himself and his program.

They call him a scammer, a con-artist, say he doesn't offer refunds, that his pricing is all over the place...

...so, is The Ecom Good Life legit?

Depends what you mean.

Hold up a second and let's imagine Mikey Kass is actually a great coach with a solid Shopify store, and he really cares about how you do in today's crazy world:

You're still dropshipping.

When I was checking out reviews around the internet, I found a bunch of Reddit posts with entire threads not only bashing The Ecom Good Life, but asking people for help with their Shopify stores they bought off him.

Some of these posts and comments are 2-3 years old...and none of the stores that were posted are still active. It's sad, really.

All that time, all that money, all that energy...it was for the right reasons, too! It's super hard to trust the 9-5 grind, or your pension, or whatever savings you have with the way the world is going. You've gotta make it big by thinking outside the box.

But why would you wanna limit your upside by settling for dropshipping, where you're very limited to a dying industry that might not even be around in a few years. It's barely around now, in a lot of ways.

I recommend you keep looking, ideally for a more profitable industry.

Like I mentioned early, Digital Leasing doesn't carry any of The Ecom Good Life's risks, and has a way more seasoned mentor leading the way than Mikey Kass.

Maybe Kass will get better and learn from his mistakes as he gets older, but he's just not on the same level at this point.

Personal Opinion On The Ecom Good Life

the ecom good life is it any good

It's pretty hard to get over some of the issues with The Ecom Good Life course.

The bad reviews are a lot to answer to...even if Mikey Kass has figured out how to make it big on his own, it doesn't really seem like he has realized how to design and maintain a successful educational program just yet.

I've dug into all sorts of industries over the years - ecommerce, MLM, affiliate marketing...at this point, I have figured how to see what makes the best program.

So, how do we choose the right ecommerce course?

  • See how long the guru has been doing this for
  • Ensure you can actually make some good money in the industry
  • Try to figure out if all the bad reviews are from haters, or if the program is really flawed

Mikey has some serious problems with his online reputation, but he is still very young. There is plenty of time for him to clean up his act and become a solid guru - but you don't have to sit around waiting for that to happen when there are solid alternatives out there.

What's Inside The Ecom Good Life?

The Ecom Good Life Course

According to Mikey Kass, The Ecom Good Life course has a lot to offer newcomers to the dropshipping industry.

Here's his breakdown of what you'll learn:

  • How to set up a good dropshipping store that makes you money
  • How to look up products and figure out the best way to pitch them to potential customers
  • Make some solid Facebook ad campaigns for what you're selling, in the easiest way possible
  • Negotiating tactics that can get your the best prices with suppliers
  • Mindset and other kinds of tips and tricks that can get you on the path to success

Mikey says that he'll teach you how to find tons of "winning items at a rate of over 65%". He talks a lot about making net profits of 40-50%, ending up with a 6-figure monthly income.

Not bad - if it really works!

He wants his students to grow their businesses by $1000 per day, which is another big promise.

Mikey offers tutorials on all this kinda stuff - he really says he can get you from $0 a month to $150,000 in revenue, while balancing your personal and work life.

Of course, building a profitable dropship store is the dream if you're in the industry...but if it was as easy as he's making it sound, the industry wouldn't be collapsing.

All of these tutorials and lessons are taught there a bunch of video sessions, so let's go over them real quick.

Mindset Training

This is actually a really big one. Some dropshipping courses will just teach you the fundamentals for hitting the right numbers...but you can't hit the right numbers if you don't have your head in the right place.

While Mikey insists that it's super easy to make money in dropshipping, he also contradicts those statements by reminding us that you will have to keep your head in check when all of the stressful factors of running a business starts to kick in.

Keep in mind that Mikey Kass is a very young man who didn't finish high school and seems to have distanced himself from his family, so I'm not sure he's got the necessary experience to deliver the best mindset training just yet.

Winning Product Research

The Ecom Good Life Review

This one does seem like a very important aspect of dropshipping, and Mikey can probably actually offer some help here.

You don't got to war without sharpening your sword, so you shouldn't start selling the first product you find just because you're so excited to get started.

If you pick the right product in the right niche, then you'll actually be saving yourself more trouble later on.

Facebook/ Instagram Ads

Mikey Kass recommends focusing a lot of your efforts on paying for ads on social media that drives people to your Shopify store, hopefully leading to more sales.

Paid ads are fine in general, but it does add an extra layer of expense to your model - which basically means that you'll have to sell even more products to make your money back. This can especially suck early on when you're not making a lot of sales anyway.

Another problem with Facebook ads is that Zuckerberg's algorithm is built to seek out people who plaster too many ads, especially if it's too similar to other ads (and you have to figure there are a lot of other students out there trying the same thing). Then your account gets banned, and you lose whatever reach you had.

SEO training to get "organic", free traffic is your best best...but Mikey Kass doesn't seem to teach this.

It takes a little time to learn, but in the end it actually makes it more likely people will buy your stuff, and saves you a ton on ad expenses every month.

Paid ads is just easier to teach students - pour money in, hope for the best.

Another red flag with The Ecom Good Life.

Establishing A Shopify Store

If you're gonna dropship on Shopify like Mikey Kass tells you to do, then you're probably gonna need a Shopify store. Of course, this is the whole "hook" of his advertising campaigns - $17 bucks for a pre-built Shopify store! What a deal, right?

Well, in an industry where you must stand out if you wanna survive, it's actually a really bad idea to buy something generic that tons of other students are offering.

Plain and simple, it's starting to look like Kass is trying to appeal to lazy people.

If you really want to make your Shopify business work, you'll have to dig a little deeper and look for some better tutorials elsewhere.

His Music Playlist

Uh...yeah.

Apparently you can pay Mikey Kass and he'll give you playlist recommendations for songs you can find on YouTube or Spotify?

I'm really not sure what's going on with this one, but my guess would be that it's his way of fluffing up "bonus content" when you pay his team the big bucks.

Conclusion Of The Ecom Good Life Reviews

As you may have guessed, we have come to a conclusion on The Ecom Good Life by Mikey Kass...

I have a hard time recommending it.

If you're really into ecommerce, then there are other gurus you could check out -the ladies may be interested in our Low Hanging System review.

But realistically, the entire dropshipping industry is probably something to avoid if you have other options.

Considering you're gonna constantly be dealing with low profit margins and running the risk of having your accounts banned at any point in time, The Ecom Good Life just doesn't have the right advice for an aspiring entrepreneur.

On the other hand, I do have a rock-solid recommendation for ya...

What Is My #1 Way To Make Money Online In 2024?

Digital Leasing

I have spent years researching, reviewing, and vetting dozens of business models and thousands of programs.

While there may be no “perfect business”, the research IS conclusive:

Digital Leasing is the #1 online business model for those just starting out.

Whether you’ve never made a dollar online, or you’ve been in this space for a while but never really “made it,” Digital Leasing is for you.

Why?

1) It’s Flexible: got an hour a day? You can do this. Ready to drop everything else and dive in full time? You can do this. Yes, the more time you put in, the faster you see results. But even with a little time each day, you can move the needle in a Digital Leasing business.

And because this system is so flexible, you don’t have to constantly be working to make more money. It’s called PASSIVE INCOME because if you stop working, the money doesn’t.

Imagine taking 3 months off to just tour around Europe, rent a cabin in the woods to write a book, hike the Appalachian Trail, or live on the beach and surf all day.

This is only possible if you have an income stream that’s not tied to your time.

2) You Own & Control EVERYTHING: With dropshipping, you don’t really own anything. You have no control over the quality of products. You don’t even own the products because they go straight from the supplier to the customer.

Yes, if you’ve got a Shopify store, you technically own that. But if every ad platform shuts you down, you’ve got a store with no customers. Which is literally worthless.

Not that Mikey Kass' generic stores are worth a ton to begin with.

With Digital Leasing, you own the assets, which means you have all the power and all the control.

3) Little To No Startup Costs: It’s possible to get into Digital Leasing with zero dollars upfront. Because, using the strategies outlined in this program, you can get a client to pay you BEFORE spending a penny out of your own pocket...even before you do any work.

Even without getting paid in advance, you can have your first Digital Rental Property up, running, and generating profits for less than $100.

4) No Inventory: Ok, so technically you don’t have to worry about inventory since you’re not filling up your garage or a warehouse with products.

But, you still have all the headaches of a physical products business.

Since most dropshipped products come from China, you already have a 2-3 week wait time from when a customer places an order.

But right now, with global supply chain issues, your customers would be lucky to get anything in less than a month.

The Ecom Good Life talks up spending all your money on paid ads - but it won't be worth it if customers can get the same product overnight with Amazon.

Imagine finally landing your first customer after months of experimenting, and then getting hit with a refund request or chargeback because they had to wait 6 weeks to get their order.

With Digital Leasing, a 100% online business, you never even have to think about that risk.

5) Easy To Duplicate: Ok, here’s the best part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up and running, you can literally DOUBLE your income with a few clicks, a couple keystrokes, and a single phone call (and you don’t actually need the phone call).

Remember: each Digital Rental Property is worth $500 to $2,000 a month in semi-passive income (over 95% profit). Every time you decide to create another one and increase your income, it gets easier.

Because you have more knowledge, more experience, more results, and more momentum.

If you wanted to double your income with Mikey Kass' course, you’d have to double your inventory, your profit margins, OR your average order value. And, guaranteed that’s a lot harder than a few clicks and a few minutes of your life.

6) Make Money Helping Real People: This part is what makes it all worth it. 99.9% of the time, dropshipping provides no value to anyone but the seller.

In a lot of cases, it has a negative impact on the customer because of poor product quality and an overall bad experience (i.e. waiting 6 weeks to get your order).

And that makes it pretty hard to sleep at night.

But with Digital Leasing, you’re actually helping people by solving your clients’ biggest problem:

Small, local businesses need more customers, and with Digital Leasing, you are unleashing a flood of happy, paying customers for these businesses.

You make money by helping them make money.

Not a big, faceless corporation either...a small business owner who’s using that money to put food on the table for their family, start a college fund for their kids, or take care of a sick parent.

Once you see how Digital Leasing makes a real impact in the lives of real people, you’ll sleep like a baby with a big smile on your face.

Now, the choice is yours. You could continue browsing, looking at opportunities like The Ecom Good Life which could one day make you money.

You could continue researching, never making a decision.

OR, you could take a look inside, consider what you really want, and join a program that makes your dreams a reality. At the same time, joining a community of over 2,000 successful students that are living life on their own terms thanks to Digital Leasing.

A consistent, reliable, semi-passive stream of income that doesn’t depend on you or your time to keep producing profits.

All while genuinely helping real people who are grateful and happy to pay for it.

If this sounds more like what you want out of life (or if you just want some nice side income), click here to learn more about Digital Leasing.
