Finding good eCommerce platforms can be a daunting task.
Most people opt for a monthly plan, but this isn’t always the best option. Frequently, such plans impose restrictions, such as a maximum product limit, or exclude certain features unless you purchase a higher-tier plan. Many builders are either too restrictive for more experienced users or too tricky for beginners.
This review will go over CS-CART to see if it really is the best eCommerce platform out there.
You’ll learn whether an ecommerce platform is the right online business for you.
And at the end, you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding CS-Cart and ecommerce platforms in general.
This system made them swear off the eCommerce platform for good because it uses some of the same skills but in a much more powerful and profitable way!
CS-Cart is fully licensed, self-hosted, open-source software that comes in three flavors: CS-Cart B2C, which enables users to create their own online store; CS-Cart B2B, which is targeted at manufacturers and wholesalers; and CS-Cart Multi-Vendor, a B2B and B2C solution that enables the creation of a new online marketplace with potentially hundreds of sellers.
While all CS-Cart products receive high marks, this review will concentrate on the B2C version.
CS-Cart B2C comes pre-loaded with advanced features — the website claims 500 eCommerce features — that you can use to create a highly customizable online store.
You’ll be able to sell almost anything online with unlimited products, unlimited categories, and unlimited variants.
This includes downloadable products, and you can sell wherever your customers are by taking advantage of CS-multiple Cart’s language and currency options. CS-Cart facilitates multi-channel selling by providing pre-built integrations for marketplaces such as Facebook and eBay.
Because CS-Cart is open-source software, you can customize the pre-built, mobile-friendly storefront theme to meet your specific eCommerce requirements. However, as downloadable software, CS-Cart has its own set of constraints.
While updates and upgrades are free for the first year, you must pay for them after that. While CS-admin Cart is simple to use daily, support is limited. It may be difficult to solve when you run into a problem without spending a lot of time or money.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way let’s look at the heart of CS-Cart, the two major plans. Though the plans claim to be suitable for small businesses, not all startups can afford to pay a large sum all at once, so these plans are better suited to medium to large-sized businesses.
Do you picture a single decent-sized store, a large chain with multiple storefronts, an online shopping mall, or an independent marketplace? There is a way to make your vision a reality here, no matter what it is.
Because CS-Cart is a self-hosted solution, you only pay once, and the software is yours. The shopping cart software price is $385 for a single storefront and $790 per month for an unlimited number of storefronts with B2B and B2C functionality managed by the same administrator.
You can also choose a B2B version for $390/month, which does not allow additional storefronts or warehouses.
CS-Cart also provides a Multi-Vendor solution, with prices ranging from $1450 to $7,500 depending on which features you want access to. You can create your own marketplace with multi-vendor solutions (think eBay).
We won’t detail this solution here, but you should be aware that it exists.
CS-Cart licenses are backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee. To see how the software works, you can sign up for a free 14-day trial.
Despite the one-time cost of the CS-Cart software, your online store will have ongoing expenses. In addition to the software, you must pay for web hosting, an SSL certificate, and web development assistance.
Finally, once you purchase a license for CS-Cart software, you can use it indefinitely; however, after the first year, you must purchase an upgrade subscription plan to continue receiving software updates and upgrades from CS-Cart.
The prices for those plans are listed below. According to the CS-Cart website, the company releases five updates per year on average. Free downloads of critical security patches and service packs are available.
This software is now available in a cloud-based enterprise version from CS-Cart. This version is intended for Salesforce users and is billed monthly. View the Enterprise page on the CS-Cart website to learn more.
In terms of ease of use, CS-Cart is comparable to other popular e-commerce platforms such as Magento, Shopify, or WooCommerce. The developers work hard to make things as simple as possible. If you do run into problems, well-written docs and great videos help you figure things out.
The basic plan includes all of the features required to begin building an online store (or to migrate an existing one). Even though it only supports one storefront without purchasing additional shops in the higher-tier plan, this is the ideal solution for a smaller store.
The following are some of the most important features included with CS-Cart:
It’s marketed as being simple to set up, and it appears to be. This type of product does necessitate some technical knowledge, but the fundamentals are simple. The admin panel, in particular, seems to be simple to use. It also includes a mobile app and a CMS.
If you choose to have multiple storefronts, you can manage them all from the same admin panel, even if they have different product sets and site designs. Additionally, options can be easily customized by adding price, weight, and other modifiers. Additionally, color attributes can be added.
Customizable products even allow customers to upload their own designs as part of the ordering process. Another option is to sell your electrical items. It will be easy for you to get your products to your customers with 70 payment options, 8 shipping providers, and a step-by-step checkout process.
Don’t forget about the block-based editor, which allows for quick and easy changes to the design of your store. The grid-based tool makes it easy to create responsive layouts, and mobile support is prominent.
Pre-built design themes are also sold or given away on the marketplace.
The free ones are pretty basic, and the paid ones can be quite expensive. One developer-created skin currently sells for close to $2,000, out of most people’s price ranges. Fortunately, while still expensive, the majority of themes are a little cheaper than that.
Complete your website’s look and feel by utilizing SEO tools like “customers also bought” cross-sells, a good blog function, promotions, and sales.
Furthermore, numerous optimization options are available to improve site speed and, ultimately, search engine ranking.
We’ve only scratched the surface of feature options here, but we’ve covered the most important ones. With this builder, you can add just about any feature you can think of, thanks to its open-source nature.
CS-Cart comes with powerful SEO tools that will help your site rank well in search engine results.
All you need to do is write your descriptions, tell your company’s story, and provide the requested metadata, and CS-Cart will take care of the rest.
The multi-vendor plan is ideal if you need a larger solution. You command a marketplace from a single storefront, from which independent sellers can operate their own mini-stores.
Of course, creating the next eBay isn’t going to happen on its own, so a plethora of administrative levels are included, which can be assigned to employees.
Additionally, vendors have access to comments and ratings on their products through their own admin panel. And, as an admin, you’ll have access to all the tools you’ll need to manage these vendors, such as automated payouts and a product approval system.
Everything that comes with the standard CS-Cart is also included. However, it also contains a robust admin panel that makes running an online shop a breeze.
There’s a thriving marketplace for add-ons, with plenty of free options to get you started. These include everything from live chat modules to Facebook comments to popups. Most are simple mini-plugins, but they are handy for a variety of applications.
Paid add-ons can range in complexity from simple to complex.
A small parallax package costs less than $10, but an auction plugin costs more than $50. Some plugins can also cost several hundred dollars. Prepare to spend money on add-ons depending on what your store requires.
Here is a list of some of the add-ons that are currently available on the marketplace:
CS-Cart offers unique customer and technical support, so it’s worth investigating. There are three types of help:
There are 50 support credits included with the CS-single Cart storefront. Use your CS-Cart credits to get in touch with CS-Cart representatives for anything from configuration help to bug fixes to minor software modifications and upgrades. Third-party add-ons, themes, and alterations to the source code are excluded.
According to CS-Cart, the amount of work required to answer a question or resolve a problem varies. Some CS-Cart questions, like how to set up CS-Cart, cost 5 credits. Technical support is only provided in English.
If you run out of support credits, you can buy more for $45 for 25 credits.
A limited period of free technical support is included with the purchase of CS-Cart Ultimate (CS-unlimited Cart’s storefront option) and Multi-Vendor.
Both CS-Cart Ultimate (unlimited storefronts) and Multi-Vendor plans include 30 days of free technical support. These software options do not have support credits.
At the moment, VIP support is only available to Multi-Vendor users.
Technical support is only available during the day at GMT+4 for the rest of the CS users. Cart’s There are a few options if you need help outside of those hours or don’t have any remaining support credits:
CS-Cart has many satisfied customers who go into great detail about what they like about the software. Top comments include praise for CS-abundance Carts of features and ease of customization as open-source software.
Yes it is legit.
CS-Cart is open-source shopping cart software. CS-Cart is self-hosted and does not charge monthly. Once purchased, the software is yours.
But, when it comes to building a business, you have plenty of options.
And even if you’re dead set on becoming an Ecommerce Platform Builder, you’ve got way better options than CS-Cart.
There is no free plan available from CS-Cart. However, you can buy CS-Cart for a one-time fee and then use it for as long as you want without paying anything else. The majority of users opt to pay a price that entitles them to regular software upgrades and updates.
After much thought, I’ve decided that CS-Cart is good, though not my favorite, shopping cart solution. One-time purchase and decent drag-and-drop editor are the software’s selling points. However, limited customer support and ongoing platform upgrades negate these benefits.
Also, CS-Cart is probably not a good fit for new eCommerce businesses. Those businesses would benefit from looking into beginner-friendly shopping cart software. Because it has plans for users of all levels, we recommend reading our full Shopify review.
Maybe it’s not the right platform for your store, but it will give you an idea of what a good shopping cart solution should include and what your store will need to succeed.

Our review team has come across a program in the real estate industry that is next level!
Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.
Where CS Cart falls short is in scalability.
You can’t realistically expect to be able to make passive income when you have to watch your store and manage ads all day.
But what if you leverage it?
With this digital real estate program, you can have the ability to completely walk away from the laptop because there is no ad management!
Sound too good to be true?
Of course it does!
But it isn’t…in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!
All you have to do is build and rank a website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, you could even email it to them!
This works for literally any service based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc.
Simple, after you forward the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.
A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%…let’s just use the tree service industry for example and go by worst case scenario.
Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 10 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000!
That means at bare minimum you have an asset worth $500 a month!
See why they call it digital real estate now? That’s a rent payment.
The great thing is how easy it is to scale. You don’t have to answer the phone…all you have to do is get the phone to ring.
Remember CS Cart and all the small profit margins?
This one actually allows you to collect that without being on the laptop managing a store all day. Truly passive income!
The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice over when he is sharing his screen.
You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc.
Once the training program is completed you will also have access to a Facebook group much better than the CS Cart group in our opinion. This group is much more active.
Unlike CS Cart, where you have to run ads all day and worry about getting a $5 profit off a $50 product 1,000 times over… A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name…they see it as it is…expanding digital real estate.
Compared to CS Cart, more people have been able to walk away from their 9-5 job as well.
Digital real estate allows you to have total passive income with most of your day being spent OFF the laptop.
Now, I know you probably have tons of questions… So, check this out to learn more.
