Joshua T Osborne Reviews([year] Update): Is Bad Ass Marketers (BAM) The Best Local Lead Generation Coach?

Introduction To Joshua T Osborne Reviews

If you've been on social media lately, you just might have seen an ad for one of Joshua T Osborne's ads hyping up one of his rank-and-rent lead generation programs. The most famous of all of those ones?

BAM - Bad Ass Marketers.

Let me guess: you've been looking up ways to make some money online, to run your own business, or maybe just work on a side hustle to make ends meet.

Well, it's no surprise you stumbled onto this course - they're pretty well known for their fight for financial freedom.

Sometimes the algorithm gets you wrong and ends up recommending something real crazy. You know, just the other day I got a sponsored ad trying to get me to buy pregnancy clothing...yes, me, a man.

Anyway, the point is that sometimes the algorithms of YouTube and Facebook are all messed up...but sometimes they get it right. If you've been looking through Joshua T Osborne reviews, or BAM University reviews, trying to figure out if it's legit or not...well, in my opinion, the algorithm got this one right.

And I get it.

You're not here just because Josh made his program sound cool, or because he's made millions of dollars and you want a slice of that - okay that might be part of it - but I know why you're really here.

You're sick of the BS this world is throwing your way. The economy sucks, the 9-5 grind is wearing you down, and nothing seems to be going your way.

We've all been there. I'm not promising you that nothing bad will ever happen to you again - you can't change that reality. But what can you change? The way you respond to it.

I've been around the block, and I've checked out plenty of experts who know their stuff, and fake gurus who don't walk the walk. And while I think lead generation has to be considered the best way to make money online today, I did write a Social Media Marketing Agency guide the other day.

I don't just stick to one industry - I need to know them all before I go around recommending one or the other.

The reality is there's a ton of limitations to some of these other models like affiliate marketing or dropshipping, no matter how many "get rich quick" ads you see.

Lead generation, on the other hand, just kills it in so many ways, and businesses will always need new sales leads.

It's a recession-proof industry, but that's not the only thing that matters here: your mentor is the key.

So we'll check into Joshua T Osborne to make sure he's as good as he seems, weigh out the pros and cons of BAM, and figure out if all this makes sense for you to dive into.

But for now, let's get going with our BAM University review!

DISCLAIMER:

This Bad Ass Marketers review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

PROS
  • BAM University teaches lead generation, which means you're already pretty safe, since it's considered the safest way of making money online these days.
  • Joshua T Osborne goes out of his way to bring his students along for the ride with him, which means you won't be alone as you start building up a powerful business.
  • There are tons of stellar reviews on Trustpilot, which means other people have already put the work in and seen some crazy success.
CONS
  • Not every student makes the time to to build up an empire overnight - which means this isn't a "get rich quick" scheme.
  • This job is about working from home and being flexible, and that means you won't have the same kind of routine as driving to a safe cubicle every day.
  • This isn't reliant on just one platform like Amazon FBA, which means if you only want to focus on one site - this isn't the course for you.

Why Listen To Us

My name is Josiah, and this is my Dad, Joel.why listen us

Together, we make up the team here at Scamrisk.

If you’ll let me bother you for two minutes, I’d like to quickly explain why I’m even here writing this review.

In early 2020, I had just graduated from college & had no real career prospects.

I knew I was destined for something more, but I had no clue how I was going to make it happen.

I had this sinking feeling in my gut all the time… like the “big man upstairs” had accidentally given me the version of life where I’d be mediocre forever, instead of the one where I was, ya know – happy & fulfilled.

Anyway…

I had fiddled around with some different online businesses in college:

Some random MLMs, a bit of affiliate marketing, a (failed) dropshipping store or two, all the usual suspects.

Even my dad had been involved in MLMs back in the day… selling knives & other random nonsense people (probably) didn’t need.

All I really wanted was to find something that was going to actually work for me.

Maybe those things had worked for others, but for me it all turned up a fat “0” in the bank account department.

So I searched! And searched… and searched… and searched…

And eventually, I somehow stumbled upon a program that promised to help me build an income online (read about it here if you’re curious).

I didn’t really want to be “rich”.

The thought of making a reliable $5K per month & not having to worry about clocking in to a 9-to-5 ever again was all I needed.

Sure, there were people in the program doing high-6 and low-7 figures per year… but that wasn’t what I was out for.

I just wanted to provide freedom for myself, and if I was lucky, take my family along for the ride.

Fast forward a few days and a few phone calls & I was enrolled!

Here’s the first “money making website” I put up:

why listen us gif

I built that site in 2020, and it still makes me $1,500 per month. It’s a basic 5 page website I built based on a template the program provides.

The best part to me? My dad and I get to do it all together!

So between the:

  1. Ease of reaching $5-$10K per month in income online

  2. Straightforward-ness of the system to do it

  3. Fact that I get to do it w/ my family

Is why I recommend local lead generation as my #1 business model for making money online.

Sure, it takes some work and dedication – but anyone that tells you that there’s a business out there that requires no work is selling you a lemon.

I’m not saying you need to sign up for the same program I did, but I would definitely recommend giving the business model a peek!

TLDR - Is BAM University Worth It?

What Is BAM University reviews

BAM University (Bad Ass Marketers) is a training program that specializes in digital marketing - specifically in the field of lead generation. It was founded by Joshua T. Osborne, the man who made "digital real estate" a buzzword.

Of course, the concept is now sometimes known as Digital Leasing, but the process is similar.

He also teaches elements of organic SEO (search engine optimization) as well social media ads for locally owned businesses. It's a pretty well-rounded course as far as I can tell.

Apparently, if you put your nose to the grindstone, anyone can crank up their bank account with this system.

Some people say that the lead generation business is oversaturated, but my gut actually leans the other way: young people are going with guys like Iman Gadzhi and his social media focus. Older folks are still falling for MLMs, unfortunately. And of course, everyone's aunt and uncle thinks they should get into real estate...

...and that means the practical side of digital marketing is actually pretty wide open for anyone who wants to fire their shot.

No matter what other industries may have going for them, I still recommend the recession-proof Digital Leasing.

Not to mention other industries are super volatile. Dropshipping, Amazon FBA, self-publishing...they're always getting their accounts banned because sites like Amazon and Facebook don't want a bunch of generic accounts all pushing the same stuff. Digital marketing is the stable option.

The students seem extremely passionate about what they're doing - not just getting by, but creating their own future.

Digital Leasing Legit

Now, if you'd like to hear more about our BAM University Review, then let's get back to it.

There are all kinds of good and bad marketing programs out there, and you'd better choose the right one.

Bam University might be for you if...

  1. You're ready for a high-upside, low-risk online business model
  2. You like a mentor who lifts up his students, and actually pays attention
  3. You want to run a business that actually makes a difference for other people

On the other hand, it probably doesn't make sense to join it if...

  1. You want a "get rich quick scheme"
  2. You'd rather do something easier but with lower reward (like affiliate marketing)
  3. You're not good working with other people

How Does The Digital Leasing Model Work

Lead generation is a timeless business model that will last as long as companies are interested in gaining more leads for clients...which I would guess would be a very long time.

This is basically foolproof, and BAM University nails it very well.

That said, I can talk about how great Digital Leasing (Joshua T Osborne's spin on lead generation) all day, but it won't help unless I actually dig into the business model a little more.

1. Get That Website Going!

You're gonna need a website, obviously. If you've never done anything like this before, then this might sound tricky, but all you really do is go over to snapps.ai and use their web builder, which is easy. They basically do half the work for ya.

Some people say their tools are like a mix of Weebly (drag and drop) and Wordpress (requires a little more figuring out, but nothing too complicated).

It's made easier by having some nice webpage templates for you to use, and they're all designed from looks that have been statistically proven to convert.

After all that, you just have to get into some simple SEO and - BAM! You'll be killing it at the top of the first page of Google.

2. Niche Selections

Pick A Niche

A niche is critical! If you try to everything all at once, you'll likely get spread too thin and won't stand a chance in any particular area.

You want to become very good at one thing, and then branch out from there. This will also reduce competition when you start out, which is nice.

I recommend industries like plumbing, roofing, or maybe even tree services.

3. Study The Population Size Of Your Area

Figure Out Population Size

Aiming your lead generation website toward a city that's too big will likely be overwhelming for anyone just trying to get their feet wet, while a town that's under 50,000 people will likely already have "their guys" or not feel the need to scale.

The wheelhouse you're looking for is a city that's between 50,000-300,000, at least when you're getting everything figured out. This is a simple way of making your life easier, accelerating your growth in the long term.

4. Figure Out The Demand

This one sounds really easy - and it kind of is - but if you mess it up, you don't have a chance.

You won't have much luck selling a snowboard to someone living in Hawaii, for example, since it's hot as heck and barely snows!

Sometimes it can be that obvious, but sometimes you gotta dig a little deeper.

If you look into a tree service company in Louisiana or Florida, you may figure out that they get hit by more hurricanes, and that means more people are gonna need more tree services!

5. Make Your Website Fit The Niche

Build Out The Site

I kinda mentioned this earlier - it's really easy. Go over to godaddy.com and pick out a domain that fits the gig, spend a couple bucks per year to reserve it, then plug it into the already-made site template that works with the niche you've gone after.

And then click publish.

That's it.

6. Get That SEO In There!

This is a huge difference-maker between the winners and losers out there. The ones making 10k+ per month, and the guys who aren't making a dime.

Remember, anyone can build a website. We told you it was easy, which means it'll be easy for your competition as well. So, how do you get your website on the first page of Google results?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) makes all the difference.

If you're new to all this, SEO is basically just building your site in the way Google likes it to be - the right words, the right structure. The more you figure out what the boxes are, and then check those boxes, the higher chances of success you'll have!

The good news is you don't have to do a ton of guesswork here, and this is the kind of stuff Joshua T Osborne makes easy when he teaches about Digital Leasing.

According to Josh, Google always leaves clues, and those clues always lead back to citations, content, and backlinks.

  • Content: picking the right words can be really easy with the right software, but you have to actually be able to write it in the right way for all to go smoothly and bump your score way up there.
  • Backlinks? It's just fancy talk for putting a link from one website onto another website. So if you want to get a YouTube video seen more often, you could post that link to Facebook...and it links back to YouTube. Makes sense, right?
  • Citations just mean things like the phone number of the site, the address, name etc. This is the most basic and easiest way to score high in the ranks.

If you can figure out these easy things, then it probably won't be long before you start killing it with what BAM University has to offer.

7. Find A Local Business Owner To Sell Your Work To

Here's what you'll do: hand out a few samples to some of those local businesses you scouted earlier when picking your niche, and see if they like what you have to offer.

It's kinda like Costco - everyone loves a free sample!

This takes away all the pressure and cringe-factor from cold calls.

Now, they might be asking you what the catch is - after all, most businesspeople don't give away something for free out of the kindness of their heart.

Just tell them there's only one catch: if they like the high quality level of the leads you gave them, and they see some nice profit boosts from it, then they should give you a call back.

And then those leads keep coming in, and they pump your income through the roof.

Everybody wins...which is basically the opposite of some other pyramid-scheme-type business models out there.

8. Rinse, Wash, Repeat

Repeat with a bunch of different digital properties

Yup, just keep building more sites and selling them off, one by one until you've build up your own empire.

Joshua T Osborne seems to have nailed this business model, and covers any grey areas you don't feel a hundred percent comfortable with. That's why Digital Leasing comes so recommended from me - there's basically no little cracks for the students to fall into.

Oh, and feel free to check out my lead generation guide if you need some extra help.

Who Is Joshua T. Osborne?

Joshua and Danelle Osborne

If people ever look up the yearbook from the School of Hard Knocks, they might see Joshua T Osborne listed as its class president.

He's been through a few things that might have sent other lives spinning out of control...

His dad was absent, his stepfather was pretty bad dude whenever he actually took the time to see Josh, and his mother was always out there working jobs to make ends meet. Meanwhile, Josh's siblings relied on him to take care of them at home...so he never really got to be a kid.

Eventually, the pressure became too much.

The money was running low, and his family was having a hard time eating any food...and Josh ended up going down the wrong path and ended up paying for it in the end.

Two years in jail. Dang.

If movies and TV shows have taught me anything, it's that people can either use this time to fall apart, join gangs, then leave the joint even worse off than when they entered - or they can use this moment in their lives to self-reflect and use this challenge to become stronger than they've ever been.

Joshua T Osborne chose that second path.

He found a mentor who saw something in him, and Josh decided it was time to learn a thing or two about how to make sure he never has to worry about feeding his family ever again.

After he left prison, he moved to Colorado and began a company in the moving business - and that's where he planted the seed that would one day blossom into Digital Leasing.

Josh was really getting the lifeblood of his moving company pumping by using digital marketing, getting such a crazy amount of jobs that he started sleeping in the office!

To this day, Josh still works his butt off and isn't afraid of going the extra mile...but this just didn't seem right to him.

He knew:

  • This shouldn't have felt so hard
  • He shouldn't be sleeping where he works unless it's from home
  • He shouldn't be sacrificing his family time - that's who this was supposed to be about!

So he needed to figure out a better way, and he started by giving some of the extra jobs he didn't have time for to a friend's moving company.

And they gave him a cut of their profits, without him having to a lift a finger...

Woah.

This was it. A brand new business model...

...Digital Leasing.

From that point on, he knew that if he just built and ranked his own web page on the front page of Google, scored a ton of client leads in his city, then he could start spreading his success throughout the state...and then all over the United States of America.

Turns out, that's exactly what he did.

After hitting rock bottom in prison, he turned his whole life around and went from planting the seed of Digital Leasing...to watching it bloom into a whole empire all over the US.

Now he's got a ton of time for family - Danelle Osborne is is wife, and he's got two sons and a baby girl.

Not only that, but he also figured there are some other people struggling just the same as he was all those years ago - and that's why he's developed programs like BAM University.

To help students who want to turn their life around, and take control for the first time in their lives.

How Much Does BAM University Cost?

How Much Does BAM University Cost

It's tricky to find the exact BAM University cost online, as sometimes these programs have intro-tier pricing, as well as high-end one-on-one training with Josh that can really take students to that next level.

A good rule is to remember that businesses cost money, especially legitimate businesses that'll make that'll make that money back. This kind of thing, when done right, isn't like you're throwing money into a hole and hoping for the best.

It's a business investment, and you can write that sort of thing off on your taxes anyway.

If I had to take a guess, you should have at least 500 bucks saved up before you take the plunge with Digital Leasing.

Compared to some businesses with physical stores, a digital marketing agency is a cheap thing to get off the ground. That said, Josh's team will walk you through that you can prepare for through your first three-to-six months of expenses while running a business.

So if you're not ready for any kind of real investment, I'd recommend holding off on BAM University for now.

Is BAM University Legit Or Not?

As you can see from the reviews above, there's a lot of positive hype building up around what Joshua T Osborne has been doing.

Some say that it's his mentorship, others just love the industry of Digital Leasing, and others think the support community is pretty cool.

...so, is BAM University legit?

Yeah, I think this is one of those programs who can actually deliver for you.

I gotta admit, Joshua T Osborne knows how to make money, which is a good sign when it comes to helping you make money, too.

It doesn't hurt that he works within the safest industry out there, his Digital Leasing spin on lead generation. When you pick the right industry, you've gotta make sure you get the right mentor, as well.

It seems to me these guys are doing it the right way.

Personal Opinion On BAM University

Josh Osborne Net Worth

When I check out Josh Osborne on social media, it looks like him and his team have it all figured out, and are living pretty large. Clearly, he knows how to make money for himself.

...but do I personally think he can help you make money, too?

Not every great businessman is a great coach, you know.

My gut says yes, but I put this course through the same filters as I like to use when breaking down all the other programs in all the other industries - lead generation, affiliate marketing, dropshipping, you name it.

So...how do we find the right program?

  • Make sure the guru has actually done it before
  • See if you can find any evidence the support community is strong.
  • It better be in a solid industry that is trending in the right direction

While it seems BAM University checks all the boxes, let's go over a few things I liked and some I didn't...

  1. Joshua T Osborne is a seasoned, proven expert in the field
  2. Your job will be to help businesses succeed - your money will means something
  3. The students seem to love the experience

...and, in all fairness, here are 3 things I think could be improved:

  1. Some people don't want to learn lead generation, so teaching another industry as well may help
  2. There are some upfront costs. Even if they are justified - some people just want to make money overnight
  3. Some people might not feel comfortable working outside where they live if their town is too small or city is too big

What’s Inside BAM University?

What's Inside BAM University

As I've mentioned throughout this article, Joshua T Osborne has really made Digital Leasing his own thing, and BAM University is the big course where he shares his knowledge with students.

He'll help you with SEO, social media ads, and you'll even get some help on how to to negotiate deals with your clients.

He starts off with a fun intro video, and then launches into a critical mindset-driven lesson, which I like.

You can learn all the technical stuff you want, but it'll be worthless if you don't have your head in the right place heading into this business.

As for the technical training, here's some in-depth breakdown of what you'll get:

Research

BAM University Research

A lot of courses don't dig into the research aspect of your business, which seems absolutely nuts to me.

If you see a lot of Amazon FBA programs, they kinda overlook research or teach very little of it...this is because the industry changes too fast and they can't keep up.

It's part of why I don't recommend Amazon FBA at all.

On the other hand, Google analytics doesn't change as often, so the research strategies don't have to be updated as much.

This allows Josh to consistently have updated course content when compared to other companies. Here, you'll get all kinds of numbers thrown your way to figure out what the ideal market might look like for your new business.

Yeah, this part seems like a bit of work...because anyone promising you ways to get rich without any work at all, is probably a liar.

That said, if you can work smarter, you don't have to work harder. That's what BAM University aims for when teaching you how to build your own lead generation business.

Website Development

BAM University Web Development

This part is way more simple - it's really easy to "plug and play" a website these days than in the past when you had to do all the nitty gritty from the ground up.

Here, Josh takes you through the steps to building a great website:

  • Building the home page
  • Adding on some service pages
  • Where to find the best images and where to line them up around the site

This is basically all you gotta do here here, other than hitting publish!

On Page SEO

BAM University On Page SEO

SEO is where you'll get organic traffic driving to your web page without paying a dime. It's all about keeping Google happy.

You'll learn about descriptions, headers, meta tags, content, you name it!

The most important thing is that all the right boxes are checked for Google to rank you higher on their search pages.

BAM will teach you:

  • How to alter meta tag descriptions
  • How to write the best content, and to find quality resources
  • How to figure out which headers are the best, and how you can change them

Josh goes pretty in-depth, leaving any doubt how he grew from his own moving company to a whole empire.

Off Page SEO

BAM University Off Page SEO

Here's where BAM gets into the other side of SEO - the "back end" of digital marketing pages.

Josh will go through:

  • The "golden ratio" definition when it comes to citations, as well as "the flow"
  • The down-low on backlinking, from the definition to how good it actually is
  • How different "no-follow" and "do-follow" backlinks can really be
  • Lots and LOTS of backlink info. This one is super key
  • His own go-to resources for getting free backlinks!

There are a lot of industry-specific words you might not get here, but off page SEO is where a lot of people go wrong and mess up their entire business because of it. If you aren't willing to put in a little bit of work (while Josh answers your questions), then you probably aren't cut out for BAM University!

This one is worth it, trust me.

Google My Business Listing

BAM University Google My Business

Google My Business (GMB) is pretty important - it's basically a way of joining a club where Google will help push your page to the top of their search ranks.

It's not really optional anymore, since customers will often ask to see your GMB.

Josh will explain a few important things about your Google My Business listing:

  • What exactly a "postcard" is, why it matters, and how to receive one
  • How to write reviews and get folks to write reviews for you
  • Getting the best pics for your company up and showing off what you do best
  • Figuring out the best when it comes to those citations I mentioned earlier

You may have noticed I mentioned "reviews" in there...

...I'm gonna stress just how important that is:

When a client is trying to figure out that they're paying for a solid product or service, one of the first things they look at are reviews. A business that mostly has good reviews is, obviously, more trusted than places that have never had a single review,...or worse, lots of bad reviews.

If a GMB has no reviews at all, then it's usually just ignored since no one will wanna be the first person to "experiment" to see if they're any good.

As you might have guessed - this part of the training is HUGE!

And after you get your GMB killing it, that'll automatically give you another asset you can use to profit from a high Google page rank.

Facebook Ads

BAM University Facebook Ads

Next up, BAM will show you how to get some Google ads going - a good way to get some fast leads for business owners if your website isn't ranking high yet.

This is very easy, and Josh will help you out along the way. Running these kind of ads will cost a little to keep them popping up in people's feeds, but it can result in faster results, which builds trust and notoriety when it comes to your abilities as a marketer.

It also comes in handy if your business-owning client is getting a little impatient and wants to see more leads in a hurry.

Six Steps Training

BAM University Six Steps To Close.webp

Usually, this is where most lead generation courses would end and wish you luck - but BAM has a few other pieces of training to help you get that extra boost up.

In this six-step training, Josh focuses on elements of sales like:

  • How to make cold calls less frosty
  • Relationship-building to keep clients coming back for more
  • Basics like how to record a screencast

Sales is a critical aspect of this industry that plenty of gurus leave out...maybe it's a little hard for some people, but you know what's harder? Putting all that work in, then failing to close any deals or keep clients around.

BAM University definitely goes the extra mile here.

But Wait...There's More!

BAM university

Honestly, this review has gone one WAY longer than I thought it would - most programs only talk half this long to write about. So I'll just highlight some of the best of the rest of what BAM University has to offer:

  • How to utilize a vision board and focus on Family, Fitness, Finance, and Faith - or the "4 F's"
  • How to get your digital properties on auto-pilot
  • Utilize the Call Sling Advanced Training, which makes it so much easier to deal with all the calls your profiting sites are raking in
  • Snapps Advanced Training will make your website building even easier
  • How to best retain clients over time
  • The nitty-gritty of how to really run a business; Josh will teach you about contracts, hiring people under, payment processing, etc.
  • Knowing when and how to hire reliable Virtual Assistants to lift the burden after things get really busy
  • A vibrant community where you can get support and bounce ideas off of thousands of other students

Recommended Tools

BAM university tools

BAM doesn't just teach you the foundations, they also help bridge the gap between the software that can make your life easier:

  • Screencast Matic, for (you guessed it) sharing screencasts
  • Ahrefs helps figure out where your competition is at
  • Callsling, as previously mentioned, helps figure out all your call info
  • And, again, Snapps helps build your website

Advanced Training

BAM University legit or scam

While it's not clear whether these "advanced training" courses come with the BAM University program or not, it's worth calling their team to see what's going on here and what the price points are on:

  • Digital Dojo
  • Social Ad Tribe
  • Backlink Masterclass

Who knows - maybe they'll elevate your game even higher?

BAM University Reviews: Conclusion

At the end of the day, it's hard to do wrong if a company is using the Digital Leasing business model. BAM University not only seems to have it down, it seems to have mastered it - which means it'll be hard to find any other program that can match the financial freedom Joshua T. Osborne has to offer.

Basically every program will say they can give you a job that allows you to work from the beach - but how can someone really say that if they're offering an Amazon FBA program?

When you run one of those kind of stores, you have to constantly be worrying about Google, Facebook, or Instagram shutting down your ads and banning your account - usually from some silly rule they made up overnight and didn't bother telling anyone.

And don't get me started on dropshipping, where you gotta spend tons of money every month to beat out the millions of competitors who are all fighting each other to sell the same product cheaper than you...and no, their private Facebook group won't save you either.

Digital Leasing is pretty much the only model that gives you the control, so you don't have to keep looking over your shoulder for new, business-shattering rule changes. It doesn't limit you to simply recruiting your family and friends in an industry where basically no one makes money...like with an MLM.

Meanwhile, did you notice the big problem that kept coming up with with Digital Leasing? It was all having to do with too much success to keep up - which means you just have to hire a couple people to help, and then you really can go hang out on the beach, simply acting as a supervisor. It's a great problem to have.

I don't think any business will ever be perfect, just to be clear. But it's hard to find an industry where your website start-up is cheap, you can basically make your own rules, and you can select who and where your competition will be.

So...do I recommend Joshua T. Osborne's BAM University?

Hell yeah I do.
