What Is Appen?

What Is Appen

First and foremost, what is Appen all about? It is a company that collects information from human interactions to make Artificial Intelligence (AI) or machine learning more human-like.

Machine learning can become “more human” through human-quality training data.

Appen is a search engine evaluator; this means they are responsible for improving search engine results through the data they collect. The company collects and labels images, speech, video data, maps, and texts. These data will be assessed to improve various things.

The data gathered from human interactions are used to improve search engines, voice-operated technology like Siri, Alexa, and Google Home, as well as social media algorithms.

With Appen, you can work various flexible jobs. You can be an Appen independent contractor, also known as a freelance search engine evaluator. If you are interested, keep reading. You may find all the information you are looking for here.

Who Founded Appen?

Dr. Julie Vonwiller founded Appen in 1996. Their headquarter is situated in Sydney.

In 2000, Chris Vonwiller joined her wife to work at Appen full-time. He left his job at Telstra. He is the current Non-Executive Chairman of Appen.

How Does Appen Work?

What is the best way to teach a machine to be human other than to add an actual human touch to it? With Appen, you will add human qualities to artificial intelligence programs to help them become more accurate and human-like.

How Much Will You Earn?

How Much Money Can You Earn

How much does Appen pay their independent contractors?

The pay rate depends on various factors like location, admission date, and the project you will be working on. The Appen team will discuss the pay rate and when they send you the invites for the qualification exam after application.

Low-tier projects will pay you around $7-$9 per hour, whereas high-tier projects pay $12-$20 per hour. Why so? Higher-tier projects are harder to qualify for as compared to lower-tier ones. You can also get paid for microtasks. What are microtasks? This is pretty self-explanatory. Let me give you some examples.

You can do transcription tasks; for every word you will be transcribing, you will get a cent. Another example of your job is to give a particular application a rating. After doing so, you can earn tens of cents. Generally, as an independent contractor, you can bag $3-$20 per hour.

Moving on, let us talk about payout. The Appen team will process your payout, but you must submit an invoice for all the hours you worked that month.

After a few weeks to 30 days, you will receive your payment for the valid invoice you sent the team. Is it a direct deposit? You can get it through PayPal or Payoneer.

Is Appen A Scam?

Scam Or Not

So, is Appen a scam? Not technically.

It is entirely possible to build a profitable, successful small business… But there are better ways to build a business other than this.

Our #1 pick proves this.

Because unlike Appen, it actually provides real proof of real success from real people as recently as a few days ago.

Are There Alternatives To Appen?

Yes, there are plenty of other business models to choose from if you want to pursue this making money online.  Here are just a few:

What Is My Top Recommendation In Making Money From Home In 2022?

Our review team has come across a program in the real estate industry that is next level!

Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.

Yup, Digital Real Estate! Where Appen falls short is in profitability.

You can’t realistically expect to be able to make any REAL passive income when you’re just going over mindset. There’s no action there. But what if you leverage it?

With this digital real estate program, you can have the ability to completely walk away from manual labor! Sound too good to be true? Of course it does! But it isn’t…in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!

All you have to do is build and rank a website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, you could even email it to them! This works for literally any service based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc. How do you get paid and how much?

Simple, after you forward the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.

A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%…let’s just use the tree service industry for example and go by worst case scenario. Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 20 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000! That means at bare minimum you have an asset worth $1000 a month!

See why they call it digital real estate now? That’s a rent payment.

The great thing is how easy it is to scale. You don’t have to answer the phone…all you have to do is get the phone to ring. Remember Appen and all the small profit margins?

This one actually allows you to collect that without working in a brick and mortar business all day. Truly passive income!

The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice over when he is sharing his screen.

You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc. Once the training program is completed you will also have access to a Facebook group where you can ask questions and be in a community with others on the same journey as you.

With Appen, where you have to keep trading your time for money over and over…. You can finally get on the financially free side of life. A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name…they see it as it is…expanding digital real estate.

Unlike Appen, more people have been able to become financially free as well.

Digital real estate allows you to have passive income with most of your day being spent OUT of the brick and mortar landscape.
