It’s another one of those making money online programs that is centered around selling a clapped out course that supposedly makes you money by selling shitty products from China.
But hey, if you wanna risk throwing your life savings into a business model that just got wrecked by Chinese Wholesalers…
Then by all means, don’t let us stop you from creating yet another screw up your parents give you shit about.
It’s supposed to show you how to become a 6-figure ecom king…but it’s truly out of reach for most people like you constrained by budgets and student loans.
That’s just the truth…you won’t get rich by chasing the next hot product that only lasts 3 months.
And while we have to be honest for this review…
Amazing Selling Machine does come with some very helpful information to make money online and land some massive ecom profits…
But it’s outdated AF!
At the end, I’ll answer some of the most frequently asked questions regarding Amazing Selling Machine and pussy footin’ around with selling chinese products in general.
And most importantly, I’ll show you the exact system I used to build my own internet marketing business to over $40,000 a month in mostly passive income.
This system made me swear off Amazon FBA for good, because it uses some of the same skills but in a much more powerful and profitable way!
But more on that later.
For now let’s hop into all things Amazing Selling Machine!
Their company (Amazing) is based out of Austin TX.
It wasn’t always sunshine and warm weather though, much different actually…
Jason Katzenback began his adult life as an engineering student in good ole’ Canada but quickly found out that cold weather and working a 9-5 sucks!
In 2003 he was climbing that corporate ladder at a really solid pace…but then the worst thing happened…
They canceled employee bonuses!!
So Jason did what any sensible person would do…
He started looking for ways to make money online.
Jason turned over stone after stone and eventually found himself a mentor who taught him about internet marketing, and by 2005, he started his own company called Archon Media Inc.
And by 2006 Jason and Archon Media had done over 3 million dollars in revenue by selling training products to everyday people trying to make money online.
So what about Matt?
Well unfortunately, he wasn’t on the straight and narrow that Jason himself had been on…
Matt had drug issues as a teen and was trying to turn his life around.
And he did!
After getting his life back on track and trying all the business models under the sun, he finally struck gold with ecom and became a huge success.
At just 24 years old, he was making bank off selling private label products on Amazon!
And then it happened…
The stars aligned when Matt Clark and Jason met in 2011.
Known now as the Amazing Duo, the two came together and created an online training course that was geared to teach absolutely anyone how to make money by selling everyday products on Amazon.
So what happens when you take the guy who makes bank selling on Amazon and pair him up with the guy who can market the crap out of any online training product?
You get the Amazon Money Machine!
Amazon politely asked them to change name of the course and after some thinking…they landed on Amazing Selling Machine, never looking back.
They didn’t just ride off into the sunset though…
Since 2013, they’ve made a multitude of upgrades to their training to keep their students up to date with the latest best practices around Amazon.
Looking back at just the last few years you’ll see that they’ve upgraded from ASM10 / ASMX, to ASM11, and now ASM12.
Since 2015 they have accrued over 30,000 members from 130 different countries and get this…
According to Clark and Jason Katzenback, their members have generated over 9 BILLION in sales on Amazon! Yep you read that right…9 Billion with an emphasis on the “B”.
But is this just another marketing pro with a big mouth spouting off BS so you join his course?
We hope to give you the answer you’re looking for in our full review!
It’s no secret that their are a bunch of reviews for this Amazon Seller program on the internet…
And we are never ones to say “I’m more holier than thou”…
But many of the reviews are written by affiliates of the company that get paid if you decide to buy the course from their review.
This is dangerous ground to tread on because you’re not really going to be getting an unbias review from someone if they’re financially incentivized to talk good about it.
But here at Scam Risk, we are UNAFFILIATED with Amazing Selling Machine. So, you can rest assured you are getting a truly honest review with all the pros and cons involved.
Aside from going through the Amazing Selling Machine from start to finish…
We’re also going to aim to answer a couple questions for ya:
ASM walks you step by step through creating your own brand and eventually running your own ecom business on Amazon.
The way that Amazing Selling Machine 12 members are told to do this is through Amazon FBA (Fulfillment By Amazon).
It’s like dropshipping the grand scheme of things, but instead acting as a middle man between consumer and supplier…
You actually have to buy the inventory up front and send it to one of Amazon’s warehouses.
*definitely a bit of a financial risk factor if you ask us*
Here’s what that process looks like:
Basically, once you front the money and send everything over to Amazon they take care of the rest: storage, shipping, and even customer service!
Knowing that, you can probably see why millions of people have chosen to use the Amazon FBA system…they’ve just made it uber convenient.
And the Amazing Selling Machine 8 week long training program shows you exactly how to use it to your benefit!
Amazing Selling Machine 12 is taught by 3 main ASM mentors guys, all of which have made 7-8 figures with their own Amazon businesses.
Mike McClary, Dan Ashburn, and Rich Henderson. You can rest assured that these guys have real experience and actually know what they’re talking about. They’ve been in the trenches for years now!
There are 4 main parts of ASM12
But before we get into all those extra goodies…let’s get into the meat and potatoes of the training you all came here for…
Rich handles this one.
He starts everyone out at ground zero and delivers a solid training on setting your Amazon Seller account up the correct way and avoiding the common sales killing mistakes.
We must say, the guy is pretty freaking thorough…
Compared to the other modules it feels like this one just goes on forever!
He gives a complete overview of the dashboard and gives a long explanation as to why Amazon is still a great business to this day.
In this module, Rich explains why branding is more important than just selling stand alone products.
After that, he dives into their research method called “the hot product opportunity”…basically just 7 characteristics you’re going to wanna make sure your product in mind hits.
One of the characteristics he mentions is making sure it fits in a top level category…not a sub category.
Here’s what he means:
He also gives guidance to ASM course members by providing a list of products to avoid. We found this to be an extremely helpful addition, helping keep others from getting stuck and making mistakes early on.
Scam Risk recommends that you do stay away from all the products on this exclusive list…why tempt fate?
Take note of how Rich begins…always with the product.
It’s not a bad place to start…but if you don’t focus on your target audience the most…you’re product sales will be short lived.
Honestly, if you’re brand new to this, Rich’s lesson on product opportunity in this first module will be extremely beneficial.
Some members of our team have even tried, albeit the products they sold well initially aren’t really doing all that hot today.
Ultimately it’s a great first week of training…but only a beginner method. The heavy hitters of FBA today are focusing more niche audiences and sell really exclusive sourced products.
Even though Rich did a great job kinda going over some common sense stuff when it comes to branding, we definitely think he could’ve easily added a more in-depth training that teaches sellers how to find sources that aren’t overran with other Amazon sellers.
He mentions nothing about how you could go to the local businesses in town and tell them about your skillset and help make some extra sales for ’em.
Scam Risk Team Member ASM Student Experience:
“A while back I was shopping at the store once and found this great rubbing cream for my stuffy nose, it helped a lot! I called up my friend who works there and he put me in touch with the big man.
After some chatting back and forth with an explanation of my newfound methods, he agreed to let me help him make more sales online through Amazon!
Sure, no sales happened overnight, but after a few months it helped him make an extra 3k on the month. What can I say…those things sold like hot cakes at the time!”
There are a number of different advantages when you have a source that is unique to other sellers, and targets a precise group of people (like those with stuffy noses).
On top of that…
People want to know their purchases are coming from reliable sources…it helps when it’s coming from a neighborhood grocery store!
This module covers the supplier selection process and Rich shows you how to create a framework for an Amazon product listing.
Rich focuses on two main things here:
Rich gives you a bunch of information and proper steps to take when checking out product samples.
He also holds your hand through setting up an item entry in Amazon Seller Central, showing you how Amazon will approve it without any real struggle.
As far as successful amazon instructors go, Rich really proved his weight in gold with this module. Very few people can explain things in such a clear way like he can.
He even shows you why it’s important to enter as very little info as possible at first, very few Amazon “gurus” are aware of why that’s vital in the process.
Here are some other things this module goes over:
Additional topics covered in this module:
Our main man Rich stresses the importance of really putting your samples to the test, testing for functionality and quality…
Even though is concern is totally justified, it’s pretty common for suppliers to trick you by sending one high quality product and sending your customers an off dollar brand one.
We asked our team member about it and he actually said there’s a pretty easy work around. He just sends a couple orders to his friends and family asking them to be honest. It’s also an easy way to see if your supplier is sending the same type of product to everyone!
Just like real businesses, you need to build a brand…and they show you exactly how to do so with social media.
*Note*: If you are a part of the younger crowd who’s already familiar with social media and uses it on a daily basis…you could safely skip this section. There is likely nothing you haven’t seen before.
But if you’re an older Millennial or even Gen X who’s not all that familiar with something like social media…here’s a good break down of what you’ll learn!
Honestly, this module really could be improved.
Many of the social media strategies that are taught here are basic…we would have loved to see tactics that were more high level and beyond that of common knowledge when building a brand online.
They could have at least given a 90 day content push strategy so that you could get a foothold in the algorithms. Gary Vee has some great ideas for this…surely they could have provided something similar to give Amazon Sellers the leg up on competition.
In Module 5, Rich goes over the 8 different characteristics of a great product listing and how you can create it.
Here’s four…we’ll save the other half for you to find out 😉
Keyword research is important because if you have no search volume…it’s probably not a good product selection.
In this module, Mike gives an overview of the ASM proprietary, proven process to successfully propel a product into the marketplace.
Here come Mike McClary with a birds eye view of the ASM process of launching a product.
3 phase process: LB&R
This is the module that goes over the daily maintenance of a successful FBA business. Everything from checking your rankings to emailing subscribers.
Covered in this module:
In the last module, Mike and Rich talk about future proofing business. Getting certain things lined up in a way that will allow you to make it to your end financial goal.
This module touches on the following:
Legend has it that this where all the successful (2 million + in sales ) ASM members share their industry secrets with newbies.
It’s as simple as posting your question in the “Amazing Alliance” Forum and they give you a timely response 24/7.
Many members have been disappointed by being discouraged to pm mentors
Apparently it’s frowned upon.
You get access to the online forum, coaching calls, Facebook group, and special pricing for live events! Total access the ASM Community is yours!
But the best is yet to come…
This is perhaps the best selling point of the program.
You get access to tools, resources, and training that the most successful ASM members have used to scale their Amazon businesses.
It really helps to build wealth with ASM when you have a great list of suppliers and templates to choose from!
As if you didn’t already know…
People are buying everything online.
$5 trillion is expected to be made this year in sales with that number projected to grow to $6.9 Trillion in 2023
So you know what that means?
It wouldn’t be the worst idea to start a ecommerce business…that’s for sure!
Come on, just admit it, we all use Amazon!
In fact, 80% of use Amazon just to price check things.
Then a staggering 100 million US citizens are members of Prime.
No wonder why Amazon has tripled since 2015!
Frankly, there’s just no other platform that can compete with Amazon right now
And you know what they say…if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.
Not only do they have 8 really in depth video training modules…
But they have a great community for support where you can join and ask questions
A private resource vault that offers tools, business insight, and extra video training!
Definitely an Amazing offering to say the least.
There is a 30 day risk free money back guarantee.
If you are not satisfied with the course for any reason, you can request your money back with no issues at all.
There is a catch though…
Last I checked it’s an 8 week course…which means 60 days…
But they’ll refund you.
They’ve got another type of refund called the 6 month success promise that promises a $7500 refund with any unsold inventory…but it has a lot of hoops to jump through and is more of a headache than anything else…
Matt Clark and Jason appear to have a pretty clean record online
There is something that raises a red flag though…
Although the Better Business Bureau has given them an A rating…
They do mention that there is an alert for deceptive advertising.
For the most part though, you’ll find that they have a pretty good reputation overall.
Amazon FBA is one of the most saturated industries today alongside Affiliate Marketing and MLM’s
There are 3 million current Amazon sellers with an average of 3 thousand joining every single day!
At this point, even the most experienced Amazon FBA sellers are struggling to separate themselves from the competition due to all the copy cats running around.
Back in 2006, it was really easy to find a reputable supplier and setup a private label…
Today not so much.
Even our grandma’s have started an Amazon FBA business.
Let’s all be honest with each other here…
It’s hard to find any kind of niche that hasn’t been tapped into yet.
On top of that it will only take weeks until you competitors come in and try to rip your photos and jack listings.
Amazon themselves even do this! They steal product ideas and even plaster their brand name on them!
The most diabolical part is that Amazon can use its own sellers as experiments to see what sells well and what doesn’t.
Worse yet, Amazon is being flooded with Chinese sellers with cheap knock offs and fake reviews absolutely destroying real businesses!
In any event…Amazon owns you whether you like it or not.
It’s their platform.
To make it worse, they can suspend your account for any given reason at any given time no matter how well your products are selling!
With the snap of Amazon’s finger, your Amazon FBA business can be gone like that!
Even if you follow the steps of ASM to a T, one little issue can set the whole thing off and you’ll be lucky if Amazon support ever gets back with you.
The best thing you’ll get from them is an extremely vague email that will leave you more confused than anything else
If you thought that after you spot ASM the 5k it’d be smooth sailing…think again
You’re going to have to shell out your hard earned dough to buy your products and spend a boat load of money following their marketing steps they laid out in the video training.
Although there are unforeseen costs in just about any business, but you should be aware that the 5k isn’t the end of your investment upfront.
Remember earlier when we talked about all the affiliate blog posts on the web? Yep content marketing at it’s finest.
What sucks though is just how many of them there are!
We were appalled at just how many “honest” reviews we came across that affiliate links peppered throughout.
So there are really only two options for all this…
Either The ASM video training is the best thing since sliced bread…
Something fishy is going on.
We won’t even get started on the amount of YouTube reviews there are either.
So we’ll just come out and be honest about it for you:
Many of these “reviewers” are just Amazing Selling Machine Affiliates who are just trying to get their affiliate commissions.
But don’t get the wrong idea, we’re not hating on it. In fact, there’s nothing wrong with promoting something you really believe in…
But it certainly begs the question:
If Amazing Selling Machine 12 is sooooo profitable…
Why are there hundreds, if not thousands by this point, recommending it instead of a select few?
Answer: Daily Double
I’ll take “What is building a 7 figure Amazon FBA business so hard for” Alex.
It’s extremely difficult to be successful at selling on Amazon these days, which makes it easier to TALK about the program…instead of actually putting in the effort to DO the program.
You want the truth?
We got the truth!
According to one of their own press releases, they have said that the average ASM member brings in 60k of revenue…
The average PROFIT of a “successful” ASM member is only $575 a month!!!
Now this isn’t just one member we’re talking about…
We’re talking about the average of ALL ASM MEMBERS
Wanna know something funny?
You can legitimately make more money per month at McDonalds!
So now you know why so many affiliate reviews are out there…
Hold on to your seatbelts guys…
Amazing Selling Machine ASM Affiliates make a whopping 40% off of each member that joins through their link!
That means $1,999 if they pay in full and $399 a month for 6 months if they join off a plan.
So that’s the answer to why you see so many positive ASM reviews.
But let’s be clear here.
Selling products on Amazon is much different than being an affiliate marketer.
Two totally different beasts.
And if you’re new to the online business…
It’s really difficult, dare we say impossible, to successfully complete both.
Yeah, that sounds like a dick thing to say, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to become an Amazon FBA seller (which, trust me, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.
The program that helped skyrocket my online business to $50,000+ per month teaches some of the Amazon FBA skills, but shows you how to monetize them in a much, MUCH more profitable way.
There is a high price tag for the Amazing Selling Machine 12 Course…
You’ve been warned.
It can either be a one payment of $4,997…or 6 payments of $997 ($5,982)
It’s a huge investment…but if you pay in full from the start you save about a $1,000
But it doesn’t end there…
Most professional Amazon Sellers will tell ya…you’re going to see a bunch of extra expenses that add up quickly:
Long story short…
You’re looking at an extra 2-3k easy to get your first product good and launched…
And that’s in addition to your ASM tuition mind you.
But we can’t knock it too hard…
After all any real business will have some sort of start up cost in the beginning.
The question is though…
How long will it take for you to make your investment back with ASM?
Is Amazon FBA even a profitable business model anymore?
We’ll touch on that more later…
Like it or not Ecommerce and Amazon is here to stay.
Amazon has hit the Trillion dollar mark…not many companies can say that.
But is Amazing.com legit?
After just 7 years time Matt Clark and Jason have built up one of the largest and successful Amazon course on the internet today.
Successful in that Matt and Jason have made tens of millions thanks to people like you who are looking to start their own business and achieve financial freedom.
We’re not saying Amazing Selling Machine is a scam because after all, it’s hard to build a community of more than 30k members that has generated over 9 billion in sales.
But the problem we see is the level of competition that has flooded the market due to this program.
With all the countless hours of research we have done, we have come across two common responses among those selling on Amazon.
Don’t get the wrong idea…We’re not saying you can’t make money with the ASM course…we’re just saying it’s way more difficult than all these affiliated reviews make it out to be.
If you spent 6-12 months just grinding on ASM12 24/7 odds are you would see some pretty big growth!
Does that answer your question?
It is entirely possible to build a profitable, successful online business.
Yes! Amazon FBA is a legit online business model. And you can run a successful amazon business. But it’s nowhere near as easy as it was 15 years ago when the FBA program first came out.
In fact, as we’ve seen here today, it appears as though it’s more profitable to promote a high price tag training course than to spend time learning how to sell on amazon with your own brand and physical products.
However, Amazon FBA (and eCommerce in general) is not an easy business model and some people fail to break even.
In any event, Amazon FBA is not a get rich quick scheme. It will take lots of hard work to achieve the types of passive income courses like this one preach about.
Despite what all these programs will try and tell you, Amazon FBA is not a passive income model. Most of your time will be spent in product research, product selection, and monitoring ad campaigns and product rankings.
Now to be honest, it can become a passive income stream…if you hire out a lot of the process. The truth is it will take at least a 6 month grind fest just to stand a chance at being a successful Amazon FBA seller.
It is a lot more difficult to sell on Amazon than most people will lead you to believe. It takes time in any online business to become successful, even when you have the power of Amazon and their platform on your side it will take a lot of hard work on your end.
Not to mention, if you have any questions, Amazon Support and service is nearly impossible to get a hold of.
Because it’s so hard to be a successful Amazon FBA seller and success stories are harder and harder to come across these days, we want to leave this review on an optimistic note!
Scam Risk has taken the time to sift through all the different ways to make money online and we have come across one model in particular, and the best part is that it is a truly passive income model…
Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.
Where Amazing Selling Machine falls short is in scalability.
You can’t realistically expect to be able to make passive income when you have to watch your store and manage ads all day.
But what if you leverage it?
With this digital real estate program, you can have the ability to completely walk away from the laptop because there is no ad management!
Sound too good to be true? Of course it does! But it isn’t…in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!
All you have to do is build and rank a website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, you could even email it to them!
This works for literally any service based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc.
How do you get paid and how much?
Simple, after you forward the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.
A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%…let’s just use the tree service industry for example and go by worst case scenario.
Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 10 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000!
That means at bare minimum you have an asset worth $500 a month!
See why they call it digital real estate now? That’s a rent payment.
The great thing is how easy it is to scale.
You don’t have to answer the phone…all you have to do is get the phone to ring.
Remember Amazing Selling Machine and all the small profit margins?
This one actually allows you to collect that without being on the laptop managing a store all day. Truly passive income!
The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice over when he is sharing his screen.
You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc.
Once the training program is completed you will also have access to a Facebook group much better than the Amazing Selling Machine group in our opinion. This group is much more active.
Unlike Amazing Selling Machine, where you have to run ads all day and worry about getting a $5 profit off a $50 product 1,000 times over…. A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name…they see it as it is…expanding digital real estate.
Unlike Amazing Selling Machine, more people have been able to walk away from their 9-5 job as well.
Digital real estate allows you to have total passive income with most of your day being spent OFF the laptop.
Now, I know you probably have tons of questions… So, check this out to learn more.
