Affiliate Marketing Mastery Review ([year] Update): Is It Really Worth Your Money?

Today, we’re going to go through Affiliate Marketing Mastery review to decide if it really is the best Affiliate Marketing course out there.

Stefan James has been doing this for a while, and has been gaining some traction through his YouTube videos.

But is there any substance behind his words?

What is Affiliate Marketing Mastery all about? What's in the program? How much does it cost?

Let’s dive in and find out.

DISCLAIMER:

This Affiliate Marketing Mastery review has been thoroughly researched with information and testimonials that are available to anyone in the public. Any conclusions drawn by myself are opinions.

PROS
  • Content: There is a good deal of material covered in the course, which means that you won't have much guess work when you get your affiliate business started.
  • Reputation: Stefan James has a good reputation in the industry, which means the quality of his trainings are on point.
  • 30-Day Guarantee: There is a 30-day money-back guarantee so that you can try the course without the fear of losing your investment.
CONS
  • Few Success Stories: There aren't many testimonials from students who have gone on to become successful affiliate marketers, which lends to the fear that the course is not as good as it claims to be.
  • Marketing Tactics: James makes some bold claims about how easy it is to make money with affiliate marketing, which sets unrealistic expectations for those buying the course.
  • High Cost: The initial cost of the program is pretty high, which is a barrier for people who are just starting out and don't have a lot of money to invest.

Why Listen To Us

My name is Josiah, and this is my Dad, Joel.why listen us

Together, we make up the team here at Scamrisk.

If you’ll let me bother you for two minutes, I’d like to quickly explain why I’m even here writing this review.

In early 2020, I had just graduated from college & had no real career prospects.

I knew I was destined for something more, but I had no clue how I was going to make it happen.

I had this sinking feeling in my gut all the time… like the “big man upstairs” had accidentally given me the version of life where I’d be mediocre forever, instead of the one where I was, ya know – happy & fulfilled.

Anyway…

I had fiddled around with some different online businesses in college:

Some random MLMs, a bit of affiliate marketing, a (failed) dropshipping store or two, all the usual suspects.

Even my dad had been involved in MLMs back in the day… selling knives & other random nonsense people (probably) didn’t need.

All I really wanted was to find something that was going to actually work for me.

Maybe those things had worked for others, but for me it all turned up a fat “0” in the bank account department.

So I searched! And searched… and searched… and searched…

And eventually, I somehow stumbled upon a program that promised to help me build an income online (read about it here if you’re curious).

I didn’t really want to be “rich”.

The thought of making a reliable $5K per month & not having to worry about clocking in to a 9-to-5 ever again was all I needed.

Sure, there were people in the program doing high-6 and low-7 figures per year… but that wasn’t what I was out for.

I just wanted to provide freedom for myself, and if I was lucky, take my family along for the ride.

Fast forward a few days and a few phone calls & I was enrolled!

Here’s the first “money making website” I put up:

why listen us gif

I built that site in 2020, and it still makes me $1,500 per month. It’s a basic 5 page website I built based on a template the program provides.

The best part to me? My dad and I get to do it all together!

So between the:

  1. Ease of reaching $5-$10K per month in income online

  2. Straightforward-ness of the system to do it

  3. Fact that I get to do it w/ my family

Is why I recommend local lead generation as my #1 business model for making money online.

Sure, it takes some work and dedication – but anyone that tells you that there’s a business out there that requires no work is selling you a lemon.

I’m not saying you need to sign up for the same program I did, but I would definitely recommend giving the business model a peek!

TLDR - What’s The Verdict On Affiliate Marketing Mastery?

Stefan James Affiliate Marketing Mastery Verdict

I know that many of you would like to just cut to the chase, but before we do, let's slow down a bit and not rush into it. It's not that Affiliate Marketing is a terrible business model or that you can't make money from it.

It’s also not that I believe AMM is a bad course or that Stefan James ins’t a stand up guy. It's just that this path might not be the best for everyone and you might not see the type of success from other courses I’ve covered, like in this Online Blueprint review

Why? Well, imagine you want to start a website about something you love. You think that you’ve got the market cornered, so you should be fine, right?

Wrong. You might find out that big companies have beaten you to the punch and taken over. It’s like buying a ticket to the latest Marvel movie just to show up and see that the entire theatre is packed.

I HATE that!

Now, if you're doing this just for fun, like you have a website about Garden Gnomes, then sure, Affiliate Marketing Mastery could be a good fit for you.

But if you're looking for a way to make money that's a bit more stable and has less competition, you might want to look at other options. I've been doing another type of business for a few years, and it's been really good for me.

So, who should try Affiliate Marketing Mastery? If you're okay with some tough competition and you're doing it more like a hobby, then go for it. But if you're looking for a more secure way to make money, you might want to look somewhere else.

In the end, it's all about what you're comfortable with. If you think Affiliate Marketing Mastery is for you, that's great. If not, that's okay too. Just make sure you think it through before you decide.

AreaScoreDescription
Time Investment3.5/5The course has a significant time investment upfront. You'll need to go through over 70 step-by-step videos with total time spent of about 20 hours. You’ll need to invest additional time to get your affiliate business up and running.
Level of Control2.8/5You'll learn how to build your brand and online presence, but you don't have full control over your business in affiliate marketing. You're selling someone else's products, and they can change the rules or commissions at any time.
Ease of Implementation3.2/5The training is designed for beginners and provides a step-by-step guide to affiliate marketing. It covers everything from mindset to analytics. However, it doesn't offer many of the tools you'll need for your business, like hosting or keyword research tools.
Profit Potential4/5Stefan claims to teach methods that can generate a long-lasting and passive income. However, it requires a significant upfront investment, both in terms of time and money. The site also mentions that some people had to invest up to $200,000 upfront to start making significant money.

Who Should Consider Affiliate Marketing Mastery And Who Should Think Twice?

I really want you to make the best choice for yourself, and not just go by what I or anyone else thinks about Stefan James's course. However, I want to give you a clear picture so you can decide if this course is the right fit for you.

In my opinion, you might find this course helpful:

  • If you're new to online marketing, because Affiliate Marketing Mastery can give you the basic tools to start your own online business.
  • If you've got some experience but want to learn more, this course digs into the key ideas that make online businesses work.
  • If you like having a personal guide and regular check-ins to make sure you're on the right track, this course offers that too. It's not just a one-size-fits-all; it's designed to help you succeed in whatever field you pick.

On the flip side, there are reasons you might want to skip this course:

  • This Trustpilot user said he bought the course two years ago and thinks it was a bad idea. Although he got his money back, he feels the course creator is scamming beginners.
  • If you're looking for a business model that's more stable and less risky, there are other business model reviews I’ve done (like How To Generate Leads and this Digital Leasing review) that might be a better fit for you.
  • In this Reddit thread, a user who just started the Affiliate Marketing Mastery course is asking for feedback. They're worried because they've heard that many people don't make money with affiliate marketing.

In the end, it's all about what feels right for you. Take your time, weigh the pros and cons, and make the choice that you think will help you the most.

Affiliate Marketing Mastery: A 1,000 Ft View

Affiliate Marketing Mastery 1000 Ft View

At this point, I'd like to give you an in-depth overview (Oxymoron, I know) of Affiliate Marketing.

The Business Model:

Affiliate marketing is a way to earn money by promoting other people's products or services. Basically, you act as a middleman between the seller and the customer.

To become an affiliate, all you have to do is sign up with a platform like Amazon, JVZoo or Clickbank. Then you choose a product to promote and share your affiliate link on the internet through blogs, YouTube, or social media.

Affiliate Marketers:

There are different types of affiliate marketers. Some affiliates promote products without much knowledge about them, while others focus on products related to their website, hobbies or professions.

However, the most successful affiliate marketer is one who has personal experience with the products they promote.

Getting Paid:

Getting paid in affiliate marketing can be complex. Payment isn't guaranteed just because someone clicked on your link. The customer usually needs to make a purchase, although some programs pay for other actions like filling out a form on the seller's website.

Advantages:

There are several advantages to becoming an affiliate marketer:

  • Being Your Own Boss: You have the freedom to set your own schedule and work from home.
  • No Customer Hassles: Your role is to connect the buyer and the seller. Once that's done, your job is done.
  • Low Start-Up Costs: Unlike other businesses, affiliate marketing doesn't require a large up-front investment.
  • Flexibility and Variety: You can choose to promote products that interest you, giving you the option to switch markets if needed.
  • Performance Rewards: Your earnings are directly tied to your efforts, not a fixed hourly rate.

Disclaimer:

It's important to remember that affiliate marketing is not a perfect business model. Many people who get involved end up losing money.

Guru Bio: Stefan James Reviews

Guru Bio Stefan James Reviews

Stefan James is kind of a jack-of-all-trades. He's originally from Vancouver, Canada, but now lives in Panama City, Panama. He offers courses on topics like book publishing, Amazon FBA, and morning rituals and even gives private coaching and hosts mastermind groups.

Growing up was pretty hard on him. His parents didn’t have much money and they argued a lot, which I imagine had a huge impact on him. He had to switch high schools three times, which made him feel like he didn't fit in much.

So he mainly just played video games (which i can relate to), and worked in his dad's family businesses, even during summer breaks. This made him kind of shy and introverted.

TikTok.svgSource"Everything I do is just an opportunity to tell a great story."
YouTubeSource"Self-mastery is about doing the work to become the best version of yourself."

At 17, he started reading self-help books and learning from people like Tony Robbins so he could become the kind of guy who could easily attract women, and it worked! His confidence sky-rocketed, and he started having better luck in the dating department. Honestly, I could probably learn a few lessons here.

He even took a marketing class in college but dropped out because it just wasn't for him. Instead, he became an assistant to a dating coach to help his clients get more dates.

When he turned 21, he started his first business, Lifestyle Transformations, which offered coaching and seminars to help men improve their dating skills. They did hit a snag with some tax issues but managed to sort it out.

He then got into internet marketing with Kindle publishing selling over 100 books and making $10,000 a month in no time. By 2012, he launched Project Life Mastery, focussing on helping people make money and improve their lives.

Within a year he was a millionaire! He's also married his wife, Tatiana, who is a successful YouTuber and Amazon seller. With over a million YouTube subscribers, Stefan is an inspiration to a lot of people.

Affiliate Marketing Mastery: Costs And Promises?

How Much Does Affiliate Marketing Mastery Cost

The course comes with two payment options. You can either pay a one-time fee of $997 or go for three installments of $397, which totals $1,191.

The good news is there's a 30-day money-back guarantee. But some folks say the support team might make you jump through hoops to get your money back.

This course is mainly for beginners who are new to affiliate marketing. Stefan starts from scratch, teaching you how to set up your business website, Twitter, Facebook, and more. But it’s not for everyone.

If you're looking for a quick way to get rich or if you can't afford the course, this isn't the right fit for you. Stefan focuses on building a long-term business, and the benefits of his teachings show up after you've put in some serious effort.

Some people find it hard to stick with the program for the long run. So, if you're not willing to take action and commit, you might end up disappointed.

On the bright side, Stefan plans to update the course material, and if you've already bought the course, you'll get those updates for free. So, while it's not cheap, you do get ongoing value for your investment.

Is Affiliate Marketing Mastery Legit?

Is Affiliate Marketing Mastery Legit

Now, some folks might wonder if it's a scam. Well, it's not! You can actually make money with this program, but it's not as easy as snapping your fingers or rubbing a magic lamp.

Imagine working super hard for three months and then finding out you have to keep grinding for another nine months before you see any "real money." That would be a kick in the gut. It's kind of like those MLM schemes that promise the moon but deliver broken dreams.

What if there was a better way?

Picture this: you work for just three months, maybe even in your free time, and then you start getting payments of $500 to $2,000 every month, which sounds great, but you don't even have to wait three months. You could start today and see your first payment in a week!

This is what Digital Leasing offers. All you need is a laptop and internet, and you're good to go. Some people are running their whole business while:

  • chilling in an RV in the mountains
  • lounging on a beach in Zihuatanejo (pronounced zee-what-a-nay-ho)
  • or enjoying life in a cottage in Alaska

They travel, make memories, and the money keeps rolling in – and they never have to stress about paying for their next adventure.

If this lifestyle sounds like a dream come true, Digital Leasing might be your ticket to freedom!

How Is Affiliate Marketing Mastery Different From Other Similar Programs?

Affiliate Marketing Mastery vs The Other Programs

I think the better question to ask is if Affiliate Marketing Mastery is better or worse than other programs. Obviously, something piqued your curiosity and Stefan James, but that doesn't necessarily mean his program is best.

In my Wealthy Affiliate review I talk about it's platform that offers affiliate marketing training but more importantly on community support. It has a free membership option and offers a website builder, which Affiliate Marketing Mastery doesn't provide.

My Invincible Marketer review discusses more about mindset and less about the technical side. It teaches you how to be a successful marketer by changing your mindset and habits. It's less comprehensive in terms of the technical aspects compared to AMM.

In my Profit Singularity review I talk about its uniqueness in leveraging YouTube for affiliate marketing. It's a specialized course that doesn't cover as many traffic sources as AMM but goes in-depth into YouTube advertising.

My Personal Opinion About Affiliate Marketing Mastery

Alright, let's get real for a second. Before you jump into any online course like Affiliate Marketing Mastery, you have to know a couple of things. First, when you look up reviews online, remember that the folks who didn't like the course are usually the loudest.

The people who are doing great? They're kind of quiet about it, except for a few who share their success.

Second, your attitude matters a lot. If you think just signing up will make you rich overnight, you're in for a surprise. If you think you'll be a chef just by watching cooking shows, that's like buying a map and expecting to travel the world without ever leaving your house. You need to get cooking.

Now, when I look at a course like this, I focus on four things:

  1. Does the teacher know what they're talking about from real experience?
  2. Is there any extra help, like a special Facebook group?
  3. Is the stuff they're teaching good quality?
  4. Do they keep the course fresh and updated?

Would I Recommend Affiliate Marketing Mastery?

I get that you might be very interested in Affiliate Marketing Mastery, so let's take a look at why I WOULD say "Go for it".

If you're the kind of person who sticks with it even when it gets tough, this program could work for you. The Facebook group alone might be worth the price of admission. But keep in mind, it might take some time before you start seeing your money come back.

Now, affiliate marketing isn't too hard to understand. So, if this course was free, I'd say it's a no-brainer and a good way to learn the basics.

But not everyone is happy with it.

This Trustpilot user thinks Project Life Mastery is just copying other self-help programs. She says you can find the same info for free or from experts like Tony Robbins. She also feels he's not really accountable for helping people improve their lives.

Now the cost. It's $1,200. That's a lot of money for a course that just teaches you one thing. If it offered more, like extra help or more topics, then maybe it would be worth it. But for now, think carefully before you spend that much.

What's Inside Affiliate Marketing Mastery?

affiliate marketing mastery what is it

This program is like a big toolbox for anyone who wants to get into affiliate marketing.

First off, when you join, you get access to a free Digital Marketing MasterClass. This is like a mini-course that gives you a taste of what affiliate marketing is all about. It's a good intro, but it's mostly Stefan talking about how great his main course is.

Now, the main course is where the real magic happens. It's broken down into seven modules.

  1. Mindset and Strategy: This is all about getting your head in the game.
  2. Market Research & Keywords: Here, you learn how to find out what people are searching for online, which is super important.
  3. Creating Your Brand: This is about making a name for yourself on the internet.
  4. Content Creation: You'll learn how to make cool stuff that people want to read or watch.
  5. Getting Followers Fast: This is about how to get people to notice you.
  6. Making Money: Finally, the part everyone's waiting for—how to actually make cash with affiliate marketing.
  7. Performance & Optimization: This is like the fine-tuning stage, where you make everything run smoothly.

Each module has videos and PDFs that you can download, so you're getting a lot of material to work with. Plus, you get some extra bonuses like email coaching from Stefan for 90 days, recordings of Q&A webinars, and the private Facebook group where you can chat with other people taking the course.

My Conclusion: Should You Join Affiliate Marketing Mastery?

As I mentioned before, it's not cheap. You can either pay $997 all at once or make three payments of $397. That's a lot of money, especially if you're just starting out. And some people have said it's hard to get a refund if you're not happy.

Is it worth it?

Well, if you're totally new to affiliate marketing and you've got the cash to spare, it's a good place to start.

My main problem with the course isn't the course itself – It's Affiliate Marketing. There are better ways to make long-term passive income online and Affiliate Marketing Mastery is not my #1 pick.

My #1 Pick For Making Money Online in 2024

Digital Leasing

I've tried lots of ways to make money online:

  • I've got a business that finds leads for people.
  • I've sold little dogs toys on Amazon.
  • Ever heard of a putting green for your toilet? I've sold that on Shopify!
  • I've also sold stuff for women's health through Clickbank.

I made money with all of them, so believe me, there's no "perfect" way to do business.

I’ve spent years researching, reviewing, and vetting dozens of business models and thousands of programs.

While there may be no “perfect business,” the research IS conclusive:

Digital Leasing is the #1 online business model for those just starting out.

Whether you’ve never made a dollar online or been in this space for a while but never really “made it,” Digital Leasing is for you.

Why?

1) It’s Flexible: got an hour a day? You can do this. Ready to drop everything else and dive in full-time? You can do this. Yes, the more time you put in, the faster you see results. But even with a little time each day, you can move the needle in a Digital Leasing business.

And because this system is so flexible, you don’t have to constantly be working to make more money. It’s called PASSIVE INCOME because if you stop working, the money doesn’t.

Imagine taking 3 months off to just tour around Europe, rent a cabin in the woods to write a book, hike the Appalachian Trail, or live on the beach and surf all day.

This is only possible if you have an income stream that’s not tied to your time.

2) You Own & Control EVERYTHING: With Affiliate Marketing, you don’t really own anything.

You have no control over the quality of the products. You don’t even own customers.

Look at the fine print for most affiliate agreements. At any point, companies like Clickbank, JVZoo and Amazon Associates can change your commission structure, reduce your profit margins, or kick you out entirely. The Last thing you want is for your $10,000 per month cash cow get the axe overnight.

With Digital Leasing, you own the assets, which means you have all the power and all the control.

3) Little To No Startup Costs: It’s possible to get into Digital Leasing with zero dollars upfront. Because, using the strategies outlined in this program, you can get a client to pay you BEFORE spending a penny out of your own pocket... even before you do any work.

Even without getting paid in advance, you can have your first Digital Rental Property up, running, and generating profits for less than $100.

4) Easy To Duplicate: Ok, here’s the best part: once you have your first Digital Rental Property up and running, you can literally DOUBLE your income with a few clicks, a couple of keystrokes, and a single phone call (and you don’t actually need the phone call).

Remember: each Digital Rental Property is worth $500 to $2,000 monthly in semi-passive income (over 95% profit). Every time you decide to create another one and increase your income, it gets easier.

Because you have more knowledge, more experience, more results, and more momentum.

If you wanted to double your income with affiliate marketing, you’d have to double your traffic, double the average order size of each customer, OR double your commission rate from Clickbank. And, guaranteed, that’s a lot harder than a few clicks and a few minutes of your life.

5) Make Money Helping Real People: This part is what makes it all worth it. With affiliate marketing, you’re selling the product with the best commission rate Clickbank has to offer, NOT the one that will improve most people’s lives.

And that makes it pretty hard to sleep at night.

But with Digital Leasing, you’re actually helping people by solving your clients’ biggest problem:

Small, local businesses need more customers, and with Digital Leasing, you are unleashing a flood of happy, paying customers for these businesses.

You make money by helping them make money.

Not a big, faceless corporation either... a small business owner who’s using that money to put food on the table for their family, start a college fund for their kids, or take care of a sick parent.

Once you see how Digital Leasing makes a real impact in the lives of real people, you’ll sleep like a baby with a big smile on your face.

Now, the choice is yours. You could continue browsing, looking at opportunities like what Stefan James teaches in Affiliate Marketing Mastery which could one day make you money.

You could continue researching, never making a decision.

OR, you could take a look inside, consider what you really want, and join a program that makes your dreams a reality. At the same time, joining a community of over 2,000 successful students that are living life on their own terms, thanks to Digital Leasing.

A consistent, reliable, semi-passive stream of income that doesn’t depend on you or your time to keep producing profits.

All while genuinely helping real people who are grateful and happy to pay for it.

If this sounds more like what you want out of life (or if you just want some nice side income), click here to learn more about Digital Leasing.
